It's honestly not fair, and somewhat criminal, that a band like this keeps churning out songs as great as this one and still fly somewhat under the radar. This is one of my favorite songs in recent memory and I tell all my friends and co-workers about this wonderful band. My god. This song is amazing.
I feel exactly the same about these guys...I wonder how massive commercial success would change them though...Would love to see them sell out arenas though.
Jimmy Timmy They really deserve all the success there is, but I also wonder how it would change if they got it. I love going to shows that are smaller where you feel like a part of the music and can easily meet or talk to the band. But I do live outside of Scranton, so it's easy to go to their shows pretty often.
I lived in Jersey for 22 years and had my heart broken by plenty of Jersey girls...I used to tour in a band and we used to play the Wonder Bar. This song really brings me back to the days of touring around Jersey, falling in love with a new girl at every show
@@drinkclintons2058 I was in Playground Beatdown, and before that I was in Of Divinity and Humanity. What about you?Would be pretty crazy if we played together!
Every now and then I find a song that I connect with on a level that i'll play it over and over, and this is my new one! Everything about this song is so good, singing, guitar tone, mix, lyrics and the feel. I had such a good time when i used to hang with these guy's. I'm soooo happy they took off the way they did.
Let's not get ahead of ourselves here. This song is incredible but I wouldn't say this band has "two of the greatest albums of the 21st century." Yeah, their an exceptional band, but there's been some amazing albums to come out just this year, let alone the last sixteen...
They have On The Impossible Past which was in Absolutepunk's Top 10 albums of the century so far by popular vote and Rented World was also in the top 25. I seriously would say they already have two of the greatest albums of the 21st century. This would be a third.
+ReturnDivided One publication doesn't speak for everyone, nor do the readers of said publication. OtIP is an amazing album, but there's no media that can ever be so confidently referred to in such a high regard.
mirraco323 That's exactly the point I'm making. There is no way that the original statement can ever be declared to be objectively true. Quoting absolutepunk and its readers means nothing.
This is just straight up a really, really good song. Never heard of The Menzingers before I saw the trending Facebook topic about this song being released as a free stream. Been listening to it ever since.
this song is amazing. more of a casual listener of this band than a hardcore fan, but this song has all the feels. so many good songs about new jersey out there.
At a quick glance Greg Barnett even looks a bit like Brian Fallon lol. Definitely need more bands like these though; can't say enough just how awesome they are
+Brandon Allin Oh for sure it was still a good album. I think Rodent is probably one of their best songs, despite being my least favorite release by them. Honestly though, if every song on After The Party is as good as this, it will surely stack up to On The Impossible Past.
I low-key hated Rented World when it came out, but it is now one of my favorite records of all time. I hope this record grows on me too. Meaningless can't really do much wrong.
Rented World had some greats, but ultimately left me wanting after OTIP, so stoked for this new record. Their Straight to Hell cover will always have a special place in my heart though.
Lost in a picture frame The way our bodies used to behave The way we smiled in the moment Before they permanently froze But that was the old me and you When we were both lookers Lost in a picture frame The way my body used to behave The way I smiled in the moment Before it permanently froze But that was the old me I was such a looker in the old days Always waiting on a freight train Always looking for a story to tell But that was the old you You were such a looker in the old days Sha la la la Jersey girls are always total heartbreakers I still wonder where you are Cause I know the old you And you know the old me I was certain that I'd find her In the back of the diner In a cloud full of nicotine In a teenage memory That I hold till eternity Cause the future ain't coming for it We were both lookers In a 5"x8" black and white On the night stand of my mind From a time I hardly recognize
They really captured the feeling of getting old and irrelevant, wishing you could go back to your teenage days when you were indestructible and ruled the world.

Nice!!!!
What was your old band? I used to be in a band, and we’ve also played Wonder Bar and all over NJ/NY. Maybe we’ve crossed paths.
@@drinkclintons2058 I was in Playground Beatdown, and before that I was in Of Divinity and Humanity. What about you?Would be pretty crazy if we played together!
"Shalalala Jersey girls are always total heartbreakers."
This band still speaks fucking magnitudes to me.
Every now and then I find a song that I connect with on a level that i'll play it over and over, and this is my new one! Instant love. This band can do no wrong
100% agree.
Nigga you smell like French fries
That chorus is so fucking great.
I love them because they enable my crippling nostalgia
Brilliant🥃🤘
If this song is any implication, this band is on the verge of having two of the greatest albums of the 21st century.

+Snar Snarf Using media coverage as a way to gauge a record's worth is asinine.
mirraco323 That's exactly the point I'm making. There is no way that the original statement can ever be declared to be objectively true. Quoting absolutepunk and its readers means nothing.
I haven't stopped listening since yesterday, so good.
Ten days later and I've only listened to this song 150 times. I need to step my game up.
Just got home from their show in Cleveland with Bayside. Great crowd and energy.
Gin Blossoms + Jimmy Eat World + On The Impossible Past = an awesome song. hooked.
Like American Slang and On The Impssible Past had a baby, and that baby is actually the most beatifull kid I´ve seen in a while.
This is just straight up a really, really good song. Never heard of The Menzingers before I saw the trending Facebook topic about this song being released as a free stream. Been listening to it ever since.
They truly encapsulate the aura of nostalgia in their lyrics
Such genuine emotion in this band
this song is amazing. more of a casual listener of this band than a hardcore fan, but this song has all the feels. so many good songs about new jersey out there.
I seriously can't wait for this record! I've been listening to this non stop since yesterday! omg!
Im gettin a little Gaslight Anthem feel from this, this is fucking fantastic, one of the best singles of the year definitely
Holy shit, you're right, this sounds a little bit like american slang, both amazing bands, TGA needs to come back, I haven't seen them yet.
Ziggy Gnarly You're right, Painkillers was pretty good, I need to see him too.
At a quick glance Greg Barnett even looks a bit like Brian Fallon lol. Definitely need more bands like these though; can't say enough just how awesome they are
ch-ris127 What?
Hahahaha, well... really?
I don't see it.
Also 333 by AM! sounds a little bit like American Slang. Damn, this is a great year.
Oh hell yeah I was thinking the same thing. In the best way possible. It's so good!
Sounds like a song from On the impossible past. That is a good thing.
why all good things should fall apart
+Federico Martinez Penna They should not, and this is why this song was made.
It doesn´t. It sounds like a Song from "After the Party" which, after the On the impossible Past, is an ever better Thing. Bro.
YES. Been waiting for new Menzingers tunes for what feels like forever! LOVE THIS.
Just what my life needed right now.
Awesome song!! Love the Tom Waits reference in the chorus.
Thank you for writing this!
This is SO good. Can't wait for the new album.
Love this band so much, I was so waiting for some new music from them ! 👍 'Gonna listen to this all day.
could this damn cd leak already! been jamming Afi all week and im so ready for this..
The "on the road" reference is the best
ok
do enlighten
The Final Boss on the road is a book by jack kerouac in which the two main characters are dean and sal
Nadav Drewe still a good book
Joe Hodson yes i know i've read it many times lol...thanks though
i love this, nice to see music such as this still being created
Love you guys and any menzingers fan!!
Love everything that they do
This is better than anything on Rented World. Fight me.
lol, but that album wasn't really bad, well that's my opinion, but this song is amazing. I can't wait.
Agreed. I still enjoyed Rented World, and it had some great songs, but this is their best since OTIP. Song is excellent.
+Brandon Allin Oh for sure it was still a good album. I think Rodent is probably one of their best songs, despite being my least favorite release by them. Honestly though, if every song on After The Party is as good as this, it will surely stack up to On The Impossible Past.
OTIP is the best Menzingers record, but RODENT might be the best Menzingers song.
I'm with you. Not a huge fan of Rented world, but I love this song. Good sign for the upcoming album. I love the Menzingers!
You guys are the soundtrack to my adult life.
I can't stop listening, help!
This song has a great chorus
Yes yes!! My day has been made already. Love you guys! ❤️❤️❤️
Can do no wrong! Cant wait for October in London.
I just love this song.
Making a mixtape for someone and this is PERFECT :)
Great new track. Hope they play it live.
They did. Fucking loved it. :)
Song of the year
i like the "sha la la", gives the chorus a real beach boys feel
Really reminds me of stuff from On the Impossible Past but also with a heavy The Cure influence. This song fucking slays
HOLY SHIT THIS SONG IS AMAZING OMG
Is it February 3rd yet? These new songs are awesome and the production is friggin mint!
over 40,000 views on this video, and at least 39,000 of those views are from me alone because i can't get this song out of my head.
This is fucking wonderful. These guys can do no wrong
this sounds pretty good
100k! fuck yes! love this song so much!
Lost in a picture frame
The way our bodies used to behave
The way we smiled in the moment
Before they permanently froze
But that was the old me and you
When we were both lookers
Lost in a picture frame
The way my body used to behave
The way I smiled in the moment
Before it permanently froze
But that was the old me
I was such a looker in the old days
Always waiting on a freight train
Always looking for a story to tell
But that was the old you
You were such a looker in the old days
Sha la la la
Jersey girls are always total heartbreakers
I still wonder where you are
Cause I know the old you
And you know the old me
I was certain that I'd find her
In the back of the diner
In a cloud full of nicotine
In a teenage memory
That I hold till eternity
Cause the future ain't coming for it
We were both lookers
In a 5"x8" black and white
On the night stand of my mind
From a time I hardly recognize
Dude... You've missed that "You little kerouac, always running like Dean and Sal". That line only pays for the rest of this magnificent song.
Missed like 1/4 of the song but A+ for effort!
i love this😍
Godamn, this is a tasty track.
When will this been on Spotify? This song is fucking awesome!
They really captured the feeling of getting old and irrelevant, wishing you could go back to your teenage days when you were indestructible and ruled the world.
Songs like this make me need a cigarette.
So good
cool song. thank you
This is my SHIT.
Hey Elliot
Jersey girls are total heartbreakers.

+Casey Buentello Thanks Casey, I really appreciate it!
+Casey Buentello me and casey
+serenitykilledme haha y'all are cracking me up.
+serenitykilledme and I'm not trying to sound like a douchenozzle, but it's "we used to get high and listen to our boredom". Sorry about that haha.
When does this album come out?
FUCK! this is amazing.
fresh:)
👍👍👊👊👏👏
I've found another great song but... I went on my iPad one day and "the menzingers" was on my resent videos that I've tiled in
jeeeeesus christ this song fuckin rules
the gaslight anthem the gaslight anthem the gaslight anthem
such a strange supernatural reference but ill take it
Mandela effect: Swear to god this band was called The Mezingers not The Menzingers
Not bad...Not bad at all....
Epitaph Records can you sign my band, take us on tour and give us studio time? I will work on MDs alone..
Rented world was okay not as good as on the possible part I think this new album will be a lot better
Hmm... someone must have showed ISIS this song. Only logical explanation for the thumbs down received.
25,000 of the 51k views are mine.
Sha la la, well I'm in love with a Jersey girl...
Watch out, she's a total heartbreaker!
I fear you may have not gotten the reference
Not that big of a fan of The Boss, except for a few songs.
i thought this will be a lonely song 😥
Listen @ 1.25 speed....
Very Gaslight Anthem-y. Which, imo, is a good thing.
мне не нравится
cancion culia penca
it's a good song but it's not like the menzingers :/
I strongly disagree with this statement
Me too
+Wes Akers maybe i am wrong or not
+Wes Akers it's only a opinion
You're definitely wrong.
