I'll never feel guilty for enjoying 80's Europop. I was there, growing up back then and loved every second of it. No shame! Pride!

I will never feel shame for loving Modern Talking. In fact, I don't even understand people that cringe about them. They're absolutely amazing, and that's just that.

@@AikanaroSauron because people just hate to see others happy. The ones who are always screaming negativity all around are definitely the unhappiest of all. They resent people who are happy and the ones who make them happy. They want people to join their depressive bubble. How dare people enjoy music? Lol

The song was dedicated to Louis Rodriguez, co-producer of Dieter Bohlen. He’s really did a huge job for Modern Talking, and almostly created this well-known sound of the 80’s.

"Louie" is a nod to Modern Talking's engineer at the time in the recording studio Luis Rodriguez. When Thomas had finished recording his vocal parts, composer Dieter Bohlen always stayed up late in the studio with Luis finishing most of the early Modern Talking songs. That's why this song is called "Brother Louie".
I love Modern Talking and I love this song. It's one of the best. If not the best. Even in 2019 just before Covid Thomas Anders made a concert in France with Sandra and ended his part of the concert with Brother Louie. With You're My Heart, You're My Soul it's one of their best-known songs, almost like their signature song.
The 1998 version is good too but it's style is much more Eurodance than this one. This one is pure pop.

And these songs are just two examples of the genius and epic possibilities of synthesizers in the late '80s - Call it heaven-Dreaming, Angie Dylan-In the dark.

He's the main Part of DSDS (German version of the ... got Talent Shows). Nothing to be guilty about. Every musical genre has its home; the clubs of Europe in the 80s were the home of Modern Talking and they were superb at what they did. It doesn’t matter which genre, the fact that this music sounds as good today as it did back then is the best testimony to their talent. For some reason they never really made it big in the U.K. (this particular song was their only Top 5 hit over here.) But I was familiar with them because of my travels back then, so I knew what my friends were missing out on.
