I genuinely care and just look at all of the homeless people and shake my head in disgust at how broken our country is and how the system has totally failed these poor people. Always money for war and killing people, but never any money to help people. It’s a disgrace that we see such appalling levels of poverty, inequality and homelessness in such a rich country. People should demand better for everyone, but sadly some people don’t care and only think about themselves.

I took a couple people in already, and one was abusive, and the other left because they wanted to chase the bottle instead. I do care as a citizen but I also need to think of my own safety and well being. This does not mean that I won't try again. We learn as we go.

@@catherinesigurdson4189God bless you for being so kind and not being deterred from helping other vulnerable people despite having a bad experience with a homeless person to whom you gave shelter. Sadly some people are addicts or are people who have suffered awful physical or mental trauma. I never ever pass judgement on homeless people as we have no idea what their experiences in life have been.

I’d love to add that I was homeless at one point and living in hotels. During covid I lived at a super 8 hotel in San Diego. And let me just tell you, every room was booked and sold out every night and every one of those rooms were occupied by homeless people. They were safe and could sleep and have a roof over their heads. I noticed a huge difference! Just saying. When people had the resources and $ to have a roof over their heads, that’s what they did. They spent their $ on being able to sleep in a bed at night. I thought it was wonderful to see that. ❤

We've never cared. Never. Look at Victorian England. They had "two penny hangovers" and "four penny coffins." They had enforcers that would beat you if you laid down or did anything you didn't pay for. Failing that there were work houses.
We've always used it as a metric. You might be working poor but at least you weren't homeless. If you failed to contribute to society then homelessness was the threat. Even for the old, disabled or orphaned.
Participate in the system and meet expectations or else.
In order to stop homelessness, drug abuse, food insecurity, etc we would need to reevaluate our entire system.
Look at Edmonton. One homeless person costs the city $100k per year. It would be cheaper to house people than "deal" with them. Yet people are against it. "Why do they deserve help.". On the flip side, housing people still doesn't solve the underlying issues. People are drowning.

We’ve definitely regressed over the past few decades that’s for sure. I genuinely care about those on the streets and have spent time with them, but sadly I’m just your average working class man who doesn’t have much money to help them, unlike greedy money obsessed people like Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg. Think of all the good they can do with the huge amount of wealth they have, but more invested in spending their money on vanity projects like missions to Mars. It’s a truly sick world and I don’t think that we should have billionaires who have obscene amounts of wealth while the majority of people have nothing or next to nothing.

@nickxcore74 that's how the world has always been. Royalty building palaces while people starve. Even at the turn of the 20th century people would join the military for food and housing. Serving members would get just above a starvation ration. Which was better than the population.
It wasn't until after WWII that countries created any kind of social assistance program.
What's worse. Elon Musk or the fact that so many people worship him? So many people want to be him. They think he's going to save humanity.

80,000 people are no homeless across Ontario Canada right now
And they said 2030 or 2035 if they don’t do something now to help it then we’re gonna have 300,000 people that are homeless across Ontario Canada
Alberta for example is doing much much much better I looked it up on Google
And it said that 65,000 people are currently experiencing homelessness
Cross Alberta and buy 2030 it’s gonna be 69,000 people, that’s not near as bad as Ontario Canada
But that’s because they premier of Alberta is actually doing something good for Alberta
Not like our premier he sucks like literally he sucks, They said in Alberta they have 50 charities that are helping to reduce poverty and homelessness
And that is because of the person who is leading that particular province it’s all about who leading the province
In Ontario Canada it’s bad it’s so so so so so bad right now, 65,000 people is not near as bad as 80,000 people
65,000 people across Alberta the whole province of Alberta is not near as bad as 80,000 people across Ontario
That shows that it’s not necessarily the people that are living in Ontario, I mean I think like business owner with people that have their own businesses
Are really trying to do something they’re really trying to talk to Doug Ford and
Tell him to get his act together here and do something about it,

37:10 "If all your staff are doing is putting out fires, you're going to soon create a culture of arsonists." That understanding of social incentives is very applicable in many domains of human existence. This sort of "the squeaky wheel gets the grease" metaphor should be cautionary, not standard operating procedure. Overall, this was an excellent discussion on the importance of seeing the entire context of a problem, not falling into the trap of simplistic solutions, and being open to learning from failure.

I understand that you can’t get rid of everybody that’s homeless
And people that live in poverty, But at least if they have a house that will be better than living on the streets
Because at least they can use the food bank or go to the Salvation Army and get cans of food
You know cause right now then people don’t have anywhere to put food so they can’t have certain foods they can only have very very very limited because
Their ability to cook and microwave is unlikely, at least if they had a place to live they would have a microwave
You know so yeah at least start with making the opportunity available for people to at least have a place to live
And then you know all they have to do is just use the food bank for now and then order the Salvation Army
You know at least they would have their own bed they would have their own shower and or bath to bathe themselves
Because I heard that many of them were getting sick with this disease and it mostly affects homeless people because they can’t bathe they can’t clean themselves
So yeah I mean if people can’t bathe then they’ll get really really really sick with certain diseases that would kill everybody
And then people think that and blame the homeless people for getting sick and passing around diseases to them
When it’s not their fault they don’t have anywhere to bathe most people do, Lots of people have somewhere to bathe
So if people pass around diseases they can cause multiple people to be sick
And it’s not their fault they don’t want to do that I’m sure of it, Like I don’t think anybody wants to make anybody sick intentionally
And you know it’s not necessarily their fault a lot of homeless people are homeless because majority of them have lost jobs
A lot of them have been in relationships that just don’t work out for them, Like maybe they have been abused by their husbands and or wives and
Maybe a lot of them have mental issues too that prevent them from being able to have their own house, And a lot of group homes are shutting down
And people with mental issues could qualify to be in a group home but because they’re shutting them down that is a lot of the reason why a lot of them are on the streets
Otherwise majority of them or anyway a lot of them would be in a group home by now,
Because a lot of people have mental issues because of their work sometimes mental illnesses are caused by mistreatment at work so I think the way that people treat other people
Has an effect on someone’s mental health and they can’t perform their job and they can ruin their ability to function properly in their house
So if they rent a place they might get behind on payments and may not be as clean as they were before, Because people when they’re in a negative time in their life they don’t feel like cleaning up the room they don’t feel like cleaning anything in their house
And it’s a sad reality but I know that because I am like that myself as well, You don’t feel good inside and you don’t feel motivated to do anything
And unfortunately it’s sad to say but some people do cause that in other people, These people started treating people kindly and respectfully then lots of the mental crisis and the possibility of being homeless would decrease in that area
You know Sabri not too many people care about other people feel and what the outcome might be for that person they only care about themselves and that’s it

I was homeless for a year and a half though no fault of my own. My extended family exiled me after my parents and only supportive uncle died, because I knew where all the bodies were buried (so to speak(. Gangstalking led to me losing my job and I refused to cash checks from my uncle because he'd sexually abused me as a child and I didn't want him to be able to make a claim that he was my next of kin. Since I wasn't able to pay the HOA fees of my condo, the HOA sold it from under me in a sham sale and county police came to my door and threw me out. I believe that my extended relatives were behind this, because I'd started talking about what really happened in our family. Many of the homeless people I met weren't on drugs or drinkers until after they'd been on the streets for awhile. Many of the things that you have to go through when you are homeless are degrading, so I understand how many want to take leave of their senses.

This is a response to the politician who said that homeless folks don't vote. Nationally, voter ID laws have gone up or gotten more strict. But I've watched a couple of episodes of this channel were folks have had their paperwork trashed when there was a sweep... I can think of one person in Portland and one person in LA at the top of my head. I wouldn't be surprised that some homeless folks can't even vote because their IDs were lost from theft or sweeps. Just because you are disfranchised doesn't mean you don't have inherent human rights. Even if the only problem was that homeless folks are in survival mode and that's the least of their priorities, they are still humans that have inherent human rights and politicians must address their needs. People, and their needs, and their waste, and their pain, and their families (who are probably voters) and their possibility to have an enjoyable safe decent life don't disappear. Ignoring somebody because they "don't vote" doesn't mean they won't vote if franchised, or their allies won't vote.

The leading cause of homelessness is the lack of affordable housing, not addiction. If you typed a comment here, obviously you know how to use the Internet, so take a moment and educate yourself. For every hundred dollar increase in median rent, homelessness increases by 9%
But here’s the rub. It doesn’t matter the cause of homelessness. As a taxpayer, here’s your choices:
One month in the hospital: ~$30,000
One month in a prison: ~$12,000
One month in a shelter: ~$6,000
One month in supportive housing: ~$4,000

@@InvisiblePeoplebut those ppl in WV are not being given FREE housing. They are often living with family in homes that probably have been in their families for generations and have been paid off. A lot of them still manage to hold down jobs and have partners they live with who help support them.
Everyone agrees there needs to be affordable housing but that’s not what’s being done
The reason ppl don’t care about homelessness anymore is bc we have been getting told for decades they are gonna solve the homeless problem, waste billions of dollars, and homelessness only gets worse
On top of that, those same ppl advocate and push policies that only enable homelessness by decriminalizing drugs, making it impossible for people to be forced into mental health treatment even though they need it, and decriminalizing crime
Then they want to say we need to pay for ppl to be housed for free and we are not allowed to ask anything of them in return- they are not required to get off drugs, get mental health treatment, gets job etc. so the average person who has to work and pay their bills and be responsible feels like “f that why do they get everything for free and I have to pay for my stuff?”
No one wants to pay for addicts to have a free cr@ck house.
If they triaged who gets resources, like the ppl who are working jobs and prioritized them- more ppl would be supportive

Your ignorance in this "Age of Information" is astounding!!!
You'd better do some research before your ignorance turns into Stupidity -- there's No Cure for Stupidity!!

episode 2 we put it on you are entering a realm of sight sound and imagination you are entering a doorway to another dimension in the Twilight zone where unconditional love and the conditions we put on it what kind of harm we put on each other we are in without even knowing because the future is so hard to see what kind of madness we are in only time will tell if humanity can pull themselves up by their Booth strings where every person has to do a job they love and care about called life

Those fires were started by the Slavemaster you call Authorities and Government, along with Maui and all the other "tragedies" going on within the Weather Warfare weapons.
      Do some research.

It’s really fucked up that you would intentionally spread a lie that homeless people are starting fires. As far as get a job, trucks already drive themselves in soon. Millions of truckers will be out of work. Chipotle is testing a robot to make burritos. And Pasadena has the first fully autonomous restaurant with no employees. There’s robots now that will sweep floors, clean toilet toilets and lay drywall. Automation will kill most jobs. What then? For every hundred dollar increase in median rent, homelessness increases by 9%. The affordable housing crisis will not be fixed anytime soon and at the same time jobs are going to continue to disappear.
