Video railfan guides are something the community desperately needs, and this is a shining example. Maybe I’ll start doing these for the northeast, depending on how well received this is.
@@jameschristiansson3137 I do provide narrated insight in my regular railfanning video trips. However localized guides based on a subdivison/city would use collective footage.
Danny, if you’re ever back in Ft Pierce highlighting the new Brightline 110 mph service or FEC, stop by Moonswiners BBQ at the junction of State Road 70 and Okeechobee Rd. They’ve been around for more than 60 years, rebuilt after a massive fire gutted the restaurant couple years ago and has been a staple for fantastic BBQ for us locals for years. We drive an hour South from our home in Brevard all the time for a quick lunch or dinner with friends…it’s just that good
Hey Danny, I'm starting my 3rd week of CSX Conductor school in Atlanta GA. Last week one of our instructors showed your signals videos. He said he had just discovered you and marveled at how good your videography is!
Great video. Really enjoyable. I work on collins st in plant city. Train activity all day. I enjoy taking a break when they come through. Something really relaxing about train watching. Thanks for the video.
Hi Danny! I am so glad that I recently discovered your Channel. I have been hired as a Conductor for one of our nation's Class 1 railroads and I was searching TH-cam for some instructional Conductor videos when your page came up. Besides being enjoyable videos, I find that I learn much watching your quality presentations. I will begin my Conductor's training in another week. I will be 500 miles from home but I know it will be time well spent as I am absolutely determined to pass the exams at the end of my training weeks and become the very best Conductor that I can be. Both my lovely wife and I are quite excited at what lies ahead just 'around the bend'. Thank you so much for all you have taught me. And your positive, upbeat spirit is both uplifting and encouraging. My very best to you always sir. God bless! Rickey
The railfan "Timesaver" game was developed in the 1970's, and is now a game ap. Deliberately difficult switching challenges are presented. Delivering three cars in a small yard with the minimum number of moves is the objective. Switching assignments get trickier, almost seeming impossible.
Rickey: As others would easily offer, "Good Luck to you"; but this channel really is "the premier" railfan channel.... no hesitancy at all in that assessment.
Nothing makes your day like a Danny Harmon video. Educational, informative, and entertaining. I always look forward to seeing them pop up in my feed. Thanks for all you do, Danny and keep up the great work 👍
I'm only 8 and watching your videos makes me a better and wiser video railfanner and hope to do the same to educate future railfanners when I'm your age! Thanks Danny! -Alex
It's always a treat when I get the notification that Distant Signal has a new post. Ever the professional, Danny always has the best content, very through and easy to understand. Thanks Danny !
Morning Danny. Always love your videos 👍🏻 I’m hoping to get out to America 🇺🇸 one day when I retire in about a years time so I can actually see theses magnificent trains instead of watching them on fantastic channels like yours 😀 Back home in the UK 🇬🇧 we have a lot of intermodal trains with a maximum length of 750 metres lol 😆 with a single class 66 with a EDM V12 two stroke engine that were built in the US 🇺🇸 Take cheers Stevie 🏴
Thanks for the frequencies. I live in Highlands County near the CSX and Amtrak routes and will be looking forward to watching and listening to the trains here.
Thanks for making this video. I'm in the Tampa area this week and have been able to visit 4 of these locations. I really appreciate all the info! Plant City is a great place, nice downtown along with the museum and train watching platform.
Thank you for posting this Video. I am from CT, but going to FL to visit my daughter the first week of April 2023. When she's working I can use her car and check out these locations. I always find your videos informative. Who knows, maybe I'll see you. Thanks a bunch!
Thanks for the quickie go to spots Danny. Some I remember and others I look forward to seeing. Thanks to Travis, my radio is hooked up and ready to go to. Big surprise there. ;)
Remembering the juice trains you put up 10 years ago plus and the Newell crossing with you and Cookie where the consist was at track speed to about blow you and the camera over at the time… still great stuff you are producing in this new age of railfanning…and we always thank you…
You need to upload more! I have been anxiously waiting for a new video! As always great catches and videos! I'd love to visit from over here in arizona.
17:45 Danny I really enjoy Distant Signal. I have lived in Clearwater since 1985. I grew up in Huntington WV and my nephew works in the CSX shops there. Huntington was a great railroad town for many years.
Terrific video as always. I would love to hear from you on the train derailment in Ohio and get some of your thoughts on the situation. Would be nice to hear someone who knows what they're talking about instead of everyone else who became a freight rail expert overnight.
What a difference from 2001 in GA to 2023 in FL with the quality of the video. Excellent job with voice overs, super clear and crisp voices, video cut ins and drone cut ins. Great Job!!!
Hey Mr. Danny.. I’ve gotta admit that you’ve made me a CSX fan now. I grew up in Central Mississippi on what is now called the Meridian Speedway. Lots of intermodal trains. Former ICG.
Glad to see you back in the swing of things. Those are some tight curves. From our SMART Union; PSR stands for people & safety rejected. Even though retired I maintain retired union membership, formerly UTU 60, railroad conductors and trainmen.
Great vid Danny, I have family in the St.Petersburg & Bradenton areas, thanks for pointing out good train watching areas, love your vids, you take care & stay safe bud.👋😎🛤🚂
I don't undertand most of the terminology in your videos lol, but your presentation and enthusiam for the topic makes each one really engaging and spikes my own interest
ChainsawN&W1218, nice video, I like Your sign collection especially the SRR whistle sign I also collect train and chainsaw and other signs, original and remakes to decorate!🚂🛤
Always a treat to see a new video of yours as they sure sets the bar very high on everything here on TH-cam. First class, as always in ALL aspects! Keep them coming! Cheers from Sweden!
Kojak's is an awesome restaurant! Miss their old location in South Tampa. Great video. Keep up the awesome work! Been getting into these railfanning channels more and more over the last couple of years or so.
I just got back from filming at Gay road inside the Winston Yard Wye. A huge train with DPU went by east and then backed into Winston Yard where it got cut up into several tracks. A few hours later it went through Lakeland but much shorter. We also saw a local with a caboose back into Winston Yard. I think that CSX maintenance of way storage area would be perfect for a Railfan platform
Haha! I think saw M452, Miami to Waycross. Maybe it's M852 now, not sure. You're right, that MofW Yard would be a perfect spot for a platform! Subscribers have been telling me for two or three days you were coming to this territory. I'm stuck at work or I would love to come out there and meet up!
very much enjoy watching your videos on saturday mornings. kind of reminds me of listening to car talk with my dad on the way home from saturday morning swim practice
I love your videos. Learned some things. I live in Pensacola but, originally from Bartow. Always good to see the old land back home. I'm a train fan as well.
Most interesting video. I have been to the 78th st a few times last year and got dismal results. Anyway, I enjoyed the video. I like the Winston wye lately, have several videos from there now.
Danny I just recently found your channel and I’ll tell your brother is one of the most professionally produced productions I’ve ever seen in it to unlike a lot of other train videos. It never seems to get boring you don’t dwell on just endlessly letting out of 200 car free train. You show me the whole thing I don’t need to see the whole thingand your information is always seems to be very accurate. I really appreciate your efforts her brother best to you Mark McConaughy.
Mr Harmon You have a terrific channel, and it’s easily one of the consistently best railfanning channels on TH-cam. I am really glad I found you just over a year ago when I was getting ready to move to Orlando from the Seattle area after retiring from Federal service. I spent quite a few years in the Pacific Northwest and had a lot of favorite railfanning spots scoped out all over that region, but I know next to nothing about railroading in the Southeast and especially Florida so I was despairing that I’d need to spend several years of random wandering just to find the best places to catch trains. This video and your channel overall have been a tremendous boon to my gaining a quick understanding of the hot spots around these parts and I’m very appreciative! It’s a bonus that you’re a fellow BBQ fan and your reviews of local eateries are great. I can’t wait to put all the new knowledge I’m gaining from your channel to the test as I range out from my home in Orlando to find trains to watch and photograph and great BBQ to partake of. If I happen to see you out and about I’ll be sure to say high and thank you in person. Keep up the great work! Cheers, Rob Shaw.
Video railfan guides are something the community desperately needs, and this is a shining example. Maybe I’ll start doing these for the northeast, depending on how well received this is.
If you start, I'm now subbed.
@@jameschristiansson3137 I do provide narrated insight in my regular railfanning video trips. However localized guides based on a subdivison/city would use collective footage.
Agreed
Doooooo it please!!!!! That’d be amazing man.
I’m going to be doing a series of narrated Railfan Hotspots in my home state of New Jersey
16:14 I love that Danny includes reviews of local BBQ joints in his travelogs. Diehard railfans appreciate his dedication!

My thoughts exactly!!! 😊
Good BBQ place is always a good thing. That and a good diner or breakfast place. Part of the hobby.
Hey Danny, I'm starting my 3rd week of CSX Conductor school in Atlanta GA. Last week one of our instructors showed your signals videos. He said he had just discovered you and marveled at how good your videography is!
Distant Signal has to get a taste!
So true...
Great video. Really enjoyable. I work on collins st in plant city. Train activity all day. I enjoy taking a break when they come through. Something really relaxing about train watching. Thanks for the video.

It's always a treat when I get the notification that Distant Signal has a new post. Ever the professional, Danny always has the best content, very through and easy to understand. Thanks Danny !
He also manages to not have ads cutting into the middle of his vids the way some other railfan youtubers do.
Florida’s # 1 Railfan has posted a New Video. Always Enjoy your videos, Danny. Thanks! 👍🙏
Really nice of channel 13 to air its voice. Been watching since 2018

It's a good day when Danny uploads!! 😁😁😁
the Fence looks great thx for the post.😊😊👍👍
You do know some good Bar-b-que places. It's nice to know where the good food is when out watching trains.
It’s 2 AM and I should be heading to bed, but I can’t pass up a new Danny Harmon video! 😁
Greetings from Australia. Even though I'm not familiar with Tampa, I still enjoy your videos.
Even though I rarely get to FL, I enjoy your interesting and informative videos. 👍
Great video Danny. It's always a good day when a Distant Signal pops up. Thanks for the work you put into these.
