Michael Hines is a gift to the Church, not only the local Church in Boston or the theological academy but for the universal Catholic Church. He will be remembered throughout the Catholic Church not only for his gifts as a moral theologian but in particular for the gift of the priesthood which shaped his way of doing moral theology. I have never known a more gifted priest and theologian. I am a personal guest of Mario Delpini, my classmate during doctoral studies in Rome, Archbishop of Milano since 2017. I swill share this with him today on the feast of Corpus Christi.
