As a *Kiwi* I loved guys like Andre Venter, Pieter Rossouw, Bobby Skinstad, Big Bad *BAKKIS,* Victor Matfield, Robbie Fleck, Jaque Fourie, Joost V.W, they've *always* had big, fast, strong rugby players over the years! My 2nd Favourite team!
BUT come *Japan,* I'll be hoping *FIJI* go all the way too. No team plays with the flare like the *Flying FIJIANS!!*

Looking back at those days, I always wished the Boks tried the van der Westhuizen and Swanepool half-back combination. Not just as an off-the-cuff, but actually worked at it over a couple of seasons in Springbok training sessions. Similar to the way Rod MacQueen used Stephen Larkham in a fly-half position in Brumbies and Wallabies training sessions even though he was the incumbent fullback for those teams at the time; it was done with an eye to the future.

Great tries! Although their goal kicking highlight would have been far more extensive. 😁

And the elephant in the room..... we all know the all blacks would have won that final. It was a disgrace that the South Africans needed to poison them the night before to give themselves a chance.

Do you honestly still believe that any South African purposefully poisoned the All Blacks??? Do some research and give credit to a team who played bloody well to win. I've spent time with Rory Steyn who was part of the security team. Yes, they had food poisoning, but never ever has it been proved to be intentional. Laurie Mains said the same. Get over yourself

And France should've won the RWC 2011 but the ref couldn't let NZ lose on home ground, biggest joke of a match (with NZ playing dirty as usual), and the cherry on top was giving the french captain man of the match.. what a slap in the face to the french haha

The world knows it. But no one wants to talk about it because it’s such an ugly concept to get your head around.
It applies to all international World Cup games in all sports and It’s ONLY ever happened in that particular South African World Cup that a non local team came down with food poisoning THE NIGHT BEFORE THE FINAL against the local team.
It probably will never happen again as all teams learned something that day and all international teams take the necessary security precautions now.
South Africa won that World Cup against a team that had been poisoned on their watch.
To not feel a sense of shame over that is a tragedy and i, and many others, will stand in awe of that All blacks team. When I watch that game I’m in awe of their achievement much more than a one kick win to the springboks.

@@jonleonard4031 Again, without proof, its just your opinion. Living with that amount of bitterness for 24 years is the real tragedy. That was an amazing All Black team, yes, but to deny the Springboks' achievement on that day is ridiculous. And NO, the whole world doesn'y KNOW it.

Proof? That’s the cry of a guilty man isn’t it? The proof is almost an entire team made really sick in their hotel the night before the big game. It was a lucky coincidence at best for South Africa and it tainted that win for the springboks for eternity.
I’m not bitter, quite the opposite. I’m exceptionally proud of how the All Blacks conducted themselves. I’m also proud of how all the All Black world cups haven’t been won under a similar cloud.
I’m just telling you how it is.
      Fact: the springboks won
Fact: the All Blacks got really really sick with food poisoning the night before.
Fact: international teams take special precautions nowadays, particularly when playing in South Africa.
Fact: unless you are some kind of springbok fanatic you KNOW this embarrassing coincidence taints the win.
You don’t need to go all defensive and bitter about what I’m saying. I know it’s a hard pill to accept all these years later. But cmon, it’s not a point of proof, It’s simple fact and a point of honour.
