I am now 75 and can still remember all the words to this song. I used to go every Saturday morning to the ABC Empress cinema in Nottingham. Loved it.

Being Christmas it took me back to here. I went to the ABC in Gravesend Kent. May anyone who l knew in those days and has passed away, sleep peacefully in Gods heaven. That little ball that used to hover over each word, priceless.

I went to the ABC cinema in Northampton and wore my luminous badge. It's quite an impressive Art Deco building, although we didn't realise that at the time.

My dad used to go to the one in Fishponds when he was 10 years old. He speaks about it with a tear of joy in his eye. He also told me you got some prize if you claimed to be your birthday, and he claimed his prize several times a year.

wow, brings back memories, the ABC in Birkenhead on Argyle street, I'm 55 now so I was about 4-5 years old, my older sister used to take me and my brother every Saturday, Children Film Foundation movies were quite good, Danny the Dragon, Shazam, Mighty Mouse cartoons too, and in the kiosk you could buy this coconut sweets thing that was supposed to be a packet of tobacco we could eat, weird sweets them, edible tobacco, what were they thinking making kids think tobacco was cool? and I remember you could buy badges with ABC Minors on them, and badges that just had a letter of the alphabet so all the kids would be wearing all the letters that made up their names on their coats and sweaters etc, they actually had a host on the stage too who would sing with us and get the kids up to play games to win prizes and stuff, good fun, when we sang this song, the lyrics were up on the screen with a little dot moving along with the music to tell us what words to sing, imagine what the kids of today would think of it all? they would think we are knobheads probably, ha ha, thanks for sharing.

Happy days.. I'm quite a bit older than 55..but remember ABC minors very well.. I found my 1950s /60s minors badge a couple of years ago whilst going through a boz of old stuff.. not seen since at least 1962 /63..Those letter badges, are I think 1970s

I went to the Savoy East Acton 1957 ABC Minors. I thought I remembered Flash Gordon but my baby sister only just this year told me it was Batman. I got a memory like a sieve. I remember the song and sing it once or twice a year for 66 years, talk about an ear worm.

One paid in the front and 5 via the fire escape until they took all the curtains down, then it was like turning all the light on as soon as the door opened. Spangles, Lifesavers, Paynes Poppets and Twizzles was our sweets of the day (mid fifties). Thanks for the very happy memories.

And poor sods like me had to come in early to make up the show (carry extra heavy cans up stairs, take individual films out of cans, put on reels, set up etc.) then show them once and do the reverse. All before the proper feature started an hour later. It was a thankless job for which we did not get overtime. Old projectionist.

So, I never got the words right ! I can remember the tune, and the bits we shouted - but - turns out I was always shouting the wrong thing ! First time I went, I got lost on the way home. We had just moved in. I found the police station, back then it was behind/next to John Saunders. Somehow they worked out where I lived and drove me home in a police car.

the ABC in Birkenhead has only just been completely demolished, it's just a carpark now, and the Classic cinema on Conway street is gone after a fire, both these buildings could have potentially been venues where bands could have played, so we don't have to go to Liverpool to see bands, it's a waste of theatres really, quite sad, my mum used to be a cleaner in the Top Rank bingo on Conway street, it was also a lovely theatre inside, could been a great venue for live bands, but they knocked that down too, sad.
