I used to have this, my grandmother had crocheted it and my mom gave it to me, that was in the early 1970's. I don't know what happened to it, but I can now make it again, thank you ❤ my mom used to wear it over her curlers in her hair, lol 😂
I love what you said! One of these would be a great improvement over the kitchen towels a lot of women used over their curlers! I do not miss the pain of brush rollers, but there was the idea that we were getting ready for something, even if it was just school or work that was wonderful!
Oh this is perfect for me. I walk my dog early in the morning and wear coverage on my natural hair. Time for a “new” style. I’d use cotton for the summer. I like the spaces to help with air flow. It’s getting hot out here in the mornings. I’m in the Land of Enchantment, home of Hatch chile. NM!!
Hi Wendy. You live down near my Aunt June Rutherford. She lives in Salem and was one of the instrumental figures in starting the Hatch Chili Festival. Her son, Jimmy, owned the Hatch Chili Connection. He recently passed away. I love that part of NM! My husband and I considered moving there at one time but stayed up here in the Texas panhandle. I don't know why we didn't just do it! My brother is a well known, southwest artist. He lives in Taos, NM. We have been NM lovers my whole life. I even lived in Taos when I was 19-20 years old. I loved it up there! My other brother has a 2nd home up in Red River. We love to go up there and hang out, too!
Hello from Truth or Consequences NM, 30 miles north of Hatch! You're right, the mornings this summer were blazing; I had to have the gardens and chickens all tended to before 10! I love the design on this snood and am gonna have to make it up to confine this hair of mine against our southwest winds!
Love this, my daughter is into 40s fashion, I’m thinking she could get away with this, I must try it and see what she thinks. Love it. Thank you once again for sharing. xx
I was surprised of the 1967 date. I think of a snood as a 1940-1950 fashion. Very cute and practical. It may be more comfortable than a hat and how fast to put that on instead of pinning your hair up in a pun. Thanks, love your projects.
Well girl, you proved me wrong! 😊 My first impression when I saw the pattern pic was - that's clunky for a snood! The word "snood" brings to mind the lacy pieces that society ladies wore way back when. I LOVE YOUR SNOOD!!! Have to make time to make at least one for me! My hair is ridiculously long, so I keep it twisted & clipped up unless it's cold, when I wear it down for warmth. Your snood would soften that look. I prefer your version of the bow. But with my love of crochet flowers, I would sub a pretty flower to compliment the flower created by the start of the piece. Thank you for gifting us another of your excellent tutorials!
I’m making this for my grandma in her 80’s and I know that she’ll love it and the color that I’m using is blueberry cheesecake from Caron Cakes and it is coming along beautifully
I like this one especially because I have a granddaughter who has protruding ears. She wears headbands. Now I can make her different colored snoods from cotton for the summer. Thank you!
It's adorable! Actually, I could use one of these to protect my crazy curly/wavy hair while I sleep. The scrunchy I use does nothing. This is very cute and practical! Thanks for the fun video!!!
Love this! I made it along with you and realized that it was way too big for my very thin longish hair so I omitted some of the netting rows and finished it off as directed. Perfect. And you were right - did it in I love this cotton and it was very easy to work with and turned out very light! Less than half a skein! Great break from bigger projects! Thank you for sharing!!!!
I'm so glad you changed the bow. I like it so much better. Also a snood was traditionally secured with Bobby pins or hairpins. Because they are a little loose fitting.
Hello Corrina, This is so pretty and just what I need for my granny mane 👵😉. I love fast projects, thank you for the tutorial🧶 It looks great on Sophie and I like the bow flush as well.
I love vintage and didn't realize that I am obviously vintage myself as I was 11 in 1967. I love this and will try and make this one to wear instead of a bandana scarf.
OK, Snood done and dusted. took me 3 hours 🙄🙄, but I did spend a fair amount of time searching for yarn - I literally ran out of the yarn I started using as I got to do the rim/band/edge thaang. Ended up doing the band in a similar colour but in a DK weight - actually gave the band a nice snug fit. But I must admit that my Snood looks more like a puffy slightly droopy beanie 😂😂like a Rasta hat. But I love it all the same and it holds my mass of hair without falling off my head like other beanies do. Thank you Corinna, its been wonderful spending my Friday evening with you 🥰
I am just now watching this video and I've been so stressed at work I finally just turned to one of your videos to watch and bring me soothing comfort. It's like sitting with a friend and watching her work on something I love to do myself. Thank you for the video!!! ❤❤❤
I don't know how you do it, but the last few videos (every last one of them) have given me gift ideas. Incidentally, if you're having trouble trying to pronounce "snood," call it for what it is these days: a slouchie beanie, which are quite popular with 30-year-old women these days. They don't have to know the pattern is older than I am (I'll be 54 next January). As soon as the video started, I had in mind who to make one for. Keep 'em coming, girl, you're the best!
I made one along with you in a cotton/silk/wool blend yarn and my adult girls lobed it so I am in the process of making one for each of them and one for myself in different cotton yarns. I decided it to use DK yarn for the rest and that will make it a tad smaller sinze I dropped sized of yarn and hook. I will adjust rounds for longer or shorter hair lengths. Thank you for sharong this pattern!!
A definite fir me to get done. Very cute! I was 14 in 1967. My mom wore these over toilet paper wrapped around her head to hold her hair style at night. Lol! We sure were sexy back then. 😂
I love the snood my grandma used to wear to bed when I was little. She had another one she would wear to do house work and a better one to wear to the drugstore when she would take me there for a strawberry phosphate in 1965. Hysterical how all these patterns take me back! I began crocheting with Aunt Lydia’s rug yarn. It was cheap and tough as nails.
I used to make these in sport yarn due to thin baby fine hair. Rough windy climate. Gave a bunch away were cute. Time to fix myself back up. Maybe break out the fancy cotton stuff that looks ritzy. Thanks for reminding me it's ok to look stylin instead of Annie Oakley . Have a blessed season of joyfulness.
I like the way you did the bow over the way they chose to put it on. I bought me a few snoods but my hair falls out of the holes that are in it. I'm going to try this one and see if it will hold my waist length hair in it. I hope it works. Thanks for showing this recreated. I love it.
Thank you so much. I used to perform in Renaissance fairs where I used my snood every day as a 'bit" for my character, a spacey court lady. Now I will crochet my own for fun!
I love this channel. I've just made this item for my grandmother as a gift. I love how this turned out and I can totally see her bombing around on her electric scooter wearing this... May have to add those vintage gloves to finish the look for her 😊
I think these snoods are so cute but I've never had one. Now I will need to research ways to wear my hair in a snood. Thanks for this video with larger hook size too. I can't use anything smaller than #4. I also think this would look cute with a flower in place of the bow.
I love your video and the snood. I was "of age" in 1967. I don't remember the snood in that era. I remember those small triangle scarves but not snoods, especially over teased hair.
I am making one with leftovers from a summer top. I am not following the pattern to the letter but more an adaptation . I am using a thin cotton and 2mm hook. I started last night and didn't crochet at all today till now ( it's 8.30 pm I'm South Africa). I can't wait to wear my top and hat. I am a natural hair freak and my fro isn't always on fleek. So this is just perfect. I can oil my hair, put on a wig cap and my snood and go public while treating my hair and still look edgy and well put together.
It’s better than what I’ve got. My pattern wasn’t even a real snood. I love this pattern. I could even do it with size 10 thread. I think it looks better the way you did
I think my daughter would love this, but we live in Florida, so I will make it in the 4 weight (cotton) to get the measurements and then make it a lighter weight yarn. Yes, it will take longer, but she is worth it. Love the way you did your bow by the way. It came out great. Thank you so much for doing these.
So cute! I think I will make one in cotton as you suggested. I love history and crochet so your videos really interest me! You have a cheery attitude and I like that you show your mistakes and frustrations (it is amazing that you figure out those old instructions). We are spoiled today with our detailed patterns. It's kinda like the old recipes, where it was just assumed you knew cooking techniques.
This is perfect!! I am going to try it with a thinner thread to make this summery! What I great way to put my hair back and out of the way, but in the summer time!! Thank you for doing this pattern.
This is gorgrous, i love wearing what i always thought of as lacey berets, i know now they're actually called snoods and i think this is going to look great in my collection! I always thought of snoods as those tight circular scarves though. It's funny how name meanings change over the years. Thank you for another fab tutorial! ❤❤❤
Tried making a snood in a size 2 yarn, didn't turn out well. I'll try your version. Have a sister who requested one and your tutorial seems easy to follow ❤. Thanks for sharing this pattern and making this tutorial. Like your Sophia head.

Hey Corner Cousin! ❤️ from Salt Lake City
Hi. Snood rhymes with lewd. 😊 you had it right.
Cute pattern. Thanks.
It looks so big. If it was smaller I might make one then.
How did I miss this video. It was recomanded 8 month late. Sometimes youtube is a miracal.
Love this, my daughter is into 40s fashion, I’m thinking she could get away with this, I must try it and see what she thinks. Love it. Thank you once again for sharing. xx
1840's also

My daughter, who has curly hair, uses a silk snood or cap at night. She swears by it.
A satin cap or pillowcase is better for natural hair.
Viscose blend yarn would be a great silky material for that use.
Thank you! I just finished making mine and it's perfect for holding my locs away from my body! Thanks a million!

Yep! Long "o". Food. Snood. 😊 I love these! I love having fast, fun, easy items to give me a break from large projects. It gives my brain a break.😂😂
Hello Corrina,
This is so pretty and just what I need for my granny mane 👵😉. I love fast projects, thank you for the tutorial🧶
It looks great on Sophie and I like the bow flush as well.
I was born in 1967! 😁 I can't wait to make this! Thank you for sharing 💗💗💗 I pronounce it as snood (as in dude) 👍
Nice you can were it in direct ways nice!!!!
Beautiful! I have my grandmother's snood made with fine pale blue pearl and blue silk lined. Probably 150 yrs old. Lovely heirloom! 💖
I love vintage and didn't realize that I am obviously vintage myself as I was 11 in 1967. I love this and will try and make this one to wear instead of a bandana scarf.

Hello, and yes you said that correctly 🙂. This is a really pretty Snood, the snood looks great on Sophie 😉. Thank you for this fast, fun tutorial 🧶
I’m doing a renaissance costume; this will help greatly!

Completed!!! I made mine with beige acrylic yarn, it came out perfect!!!! Thank you!!!!!❤
Wonderful!
❤ tyvm. Going to go get buzy.😊
I would have worn this when I had long hair in the summer. Really cute! Maybe you can find a kerchief pattern from the 70s
I had so much fun making this Snood and I love the fact that it’s from the 1960’s. I appreciate the time you took to make this tutorial. Thank you!!!
I am just now watching this video and I've been so stressed at work I finally just turned to one of your videos to watch and bring me soothing comfort. It's like sitting with a friend and watching her work on something I love to do myself. Thank you for the video!!! ❤❤❤

Looks wonderful. Something new for me to try.
So pretty I will be making this snood thank you for keeping it easy to follow.
Hello Corrina, this cap is so cute I really like it. I think I even could make this cap. Thank You for your time showing us how to make it. ❤
Thanks so much 😊
I made one along with you in a cotton/silk/wool blend yarn and my adult girls lobed it so I am in the process of making one for each of them and one for myself in different cotton yarns. Sofia yes because that’s what I said when first saw her!! 🧡🧡 great minds think alike. With Ms. Millie I first thought Ms. Molly… close. Love the Snood
A definite fir me to get done. Very cute! I was 14 in 1967. My mom wore these over toilet paper wrapped around her head to hold her hair style at night. Lol! We sure were sexy back then. 😂

Beautiful. I love these being an 80's fashion child myself.

Nice! I have an older friend who has been wanting something like this. I'll give this z shot and see what she thinks.
Have a great day. 🐞
Thank you so much. I used to perform in Renaissance fairs where I used my snood every day as a 'bit" for my character, a spacey court lady. Now I will crochet my own for fun!
Very cute! Women used to wear curlers a lot in the 60s so I wonder if they wore these to hide the curlers.
I love this channel. I've just made this item for my grandmother as a gift. I love how this turned out and I can totally see her bombing around on her electric scooter wearing this... May have to add those vintage gloves to finish the look for her 😊
Love it Can't wait to crochet it Thank you for sharing!
You’re welcome 😊

I'm on my second hat! This pattern is gorgeous and beautiful. When I wear it I pretend that I'm in the 60s. 😁😁😁 Thank you once again for sharing!
Girl gotta make one!! Would be a great hair net. Instead of bow I think I will make a flower!! New to your channel and loving it.
I love your video and the snood. I was "of age" in 1967. I don't remember the snood in that era. I remember those small triangle scarves but not snoods, especially over teased hair.
Thank you for this tutorial! I started to make it but had to start over. Fingers crossed!💛
So quick! The name Sophia fits her well
I crocheted this hat with your video and I did mine without the folks I thought the boy looked a little too much I love it
Love this pattern! I made 2 so far! Thanks for sharing!
I made this as a hair net ❤
Just finished my hat without the bow. I might have to make it a little bit bigger because my sister has a larger head. Thanks for the pattern!
I love snoods!!!
I love snoods. This one looks cute with the bow.
I am a natural hair freak and my fro isn't always on fleek. she's a Genivive. the snnod looks good!
It’s better than what I’ve got. My pattern wasn’t even a real snood. I love this pattern. I could even do it with size 10 thread. I think it looks better the way you did
Thank you for this. My cousin and I both enjoyed making this. We have been searching for this type pattern for a hot minute.
I made this along with you and it is EXTREMELY cute!! The 4 weight cotton works great
Really pretty. I much prefer your finish.
Wow, thank you!
I love it! Your calming voice and clear instructions make every work so easy.
Thank you so much!
I'm loving your channel, thanks
Definitely like the way you did the bow much better.
This looks like a snowflake! Love it!
I made my first one in acrylic yarn and just finished another in cotton, I like the cotton better. Thank you for doing all you do😊
I made this and it is just so cute. Very easy pattern and your video is great. I wear when my hair is unruly or cooking. Thank you
Very cute project, I love snoods! (Yes you are pronouncing it perfectly :-)
I think I need this! Finally something I can do! God bless 🙏❤☀
Made it with you. It looks very sophisticated but it was so easy and fun to make. Thank you❤
Oh mah goodness! I'm so excited yo try this pattern. Thank you! And yes, Sofia fits her perfectly 🫶
I just made this it a cooper color. I love it. ❤️
I LOVE it!!!❤❤ I was thinking this will be great to use it at night. I have curly hair. I think it will be useful to keep curls from tangling
This is perfect!! I am going to try it with a thinner thread to make this summery! What I great way to put my hair back and out of the way, but in the summer time!! Thank you for doing this pattern.
I'll have to do that one! Thank you!
I remember my mom wearing one of these ❤
That is really cute. Thank you
😅
Love it and your bow is much nicer looking; thanks!
This is so cute! I’m making myself one. That’s sayin a lot since I rarely make anything for myself. Lol
as I have long hair this would be handy for holding it back and out of the way..going to give it a try..
I have made a mini snood to go over my very long and curly hair. I will have to make this one to use instead of clipping it up
I love watching your videos! I have such a nice time just watching whatever you create. Your voice is very soothing. It looks beautiful!
Thank you so much!
How fun! Can’t wait to make this one 😊. Thanks ❤
This is gorgrous, i love wearing what i always thought of as lacey berets, i know now they're actually called snoods and i think this is going to look great in my collection! I always thought of snoods as those tight circular scarves though. It's funny how name meanings change over the years. Thank you for another fab tutorial! ❤❤❤
I have some magazines for old time crochet maybe the pattern is in one of them
Need something to keep hair neat and out of the way thankx
So Darling🎉🎉I just grew my hair out, I definitely need this. Thank you for your awesome videos❤️🥰
Love this❤enjoyed watching and listening to you. THANK YOU
Tried making a snood in a size 2 yarn, didn't turn out well. I'll try your version. Have a sister who requested one and your tutorial seems easy to follow ❤. Thanks for sharing this pattern and making this tutorial. Like your Sophia head.
Been looking for a pattern like this for ages. Looks like fun!
I worked this up in cotton and i love it. Thanks so much
Good for long hair sleeping to keep it smooth 👌
You have such a pleasant voice. ❤
So cute!!!
I loved it. Will be making it
pronunciation depends on region of countr4y. Midwest5--it's snood, rhyming with food. Ind the 60's-70's, cancer patients wore them to contend with disappearing locks of hair. Mom had several. I like this one. Great for the beach and stringy wet hair. :D
