It doesn't seem that anyone is entirely sure. Lusa was not quite right for a couple days - lethargic, little to no interest in food - and then s/he displayed an injury on the right foot. That injury didn't seem to be too distressing, but the other behavioral changes were. S/he finally ate after more than 24 hours, but immediately threw it up. Later that night, s/he began having what appeared to be breathing trouble, and eventually passed.

I am a huge proponent of rescue when needed, but Connor did an amazing job of explaining things, and he did so with undeniable heart, honesty, and grace.

So very sad to hear that Lusa did not make it. My heart is so heavy to learn this. RIP sweet Lusa, we all love you!
