You can make an invisible part that is the color you want it to change to that is slightly bigger than a part inside it that is visible, and is your original color. Make the button activate the invisible part that is bigger, and you just used a button to change a parts color.

I know you make something in the back with the regular props then you get the button and connect it to the prop by pressing edit then click on all the parts or if it is only one part just click one I hope this helped if you need me to help some more you can ask me
