This is one of the best things that I have done to my jeep. I ran mine to a pushbutton switch and mounted it right beside the 12 volt supply plug because I only want it to come on when I putting things in the back at night. Also I tried those led interior lights but they only last about 5 months.
I ended up purchasing this light bar with a pushbutton switch as well, but I'm having difficulty figuring out how to wire the switch into the circuit. Do you happen to have a link to a tutorial you used by any chance?
getting this for my TJ, what are the odds I have that wire in the back right as well? also, to have it not time out id have to tap it in the dome light and leave a door open right?
Thanks for checking out the video. Yes, you should be able to do that. The direct power with a remote on and off is pretty nice. You should have the same wiring for the dome lights. Should be just a 2 wire light.
09Blue JK Basically it has a plug 🔌 that you will want to make sure is at the back of your Jeep. I have already removed my hard top and when I put it back on I will just plug it back up.
I have one installed on my JKUR. I just plugged it in the 12v outlet at the rear of the Jeep. Big mistake. It draws power even when off. I left for a month on a vacation and came back with 9 volts on my AGM battery. I thought it was the battery that was an issue since it was 5 years old. Bought new ones and still same issue. I unplugged this thing to test, and sure enough, the batteries holding 12.5V. I am going to wire this to the aux battery instead and protected by an isolator to save the starter battery. Other than the power management issue, this is a great lighting accessory for the Jeep. Really bright especially at night working at the tailgate area. Consider to have aux battery for this and be aware of risk to your starter battery.
Mine is a rubicon as well. If you tapped into the wires like I did, that goes to the rear dome light it should work. You should be able to open any door and it come on.
I have mine tapped into the rear dome light and it turns on every time I open any door but it doesn’t turn off or time out while I’m driving when the dome lights turn off. Do I have to manually turn it off with the remote each time or should it be turning off when the dome lights time out? Thanks for the video!
@@DrakeHawkins I can’t remember the color of wires off the top of my head. I have a 2011 JK, I tapped into one wire and it wasn’t the right one so I disconnected it and tapped into a different wire until it worked.
Thank you 🙏. It was deff. One of those mods you see that would be cool to have. Once you install it you realize all the times it would have been nice to have a light like this. 👍👍👍👍
I'd rather have constant power ya kno??? Hanging out by the TG chillin talkin wit friends and have the option to power it on or off without it timing out or having to keep my jeep running.. What can i do?
Dexter Lewis Yes there are two ways to do this. They should have sent you a 12/24v plug 🔌 like a cigarette plug adapter that should keep it on and you use the remote to turn it off and on and it will not come on with the Jeep doors. Or you can splice into the dome lights and make it a hard wired light and use the remote as a switch. Hope this helps. Thanks for checking out the channel. 👍👍👍
@@Jeeptv the other comment you said the wires to connect the dome light, now on this comment you say to connect to cigarette plug? which one is it? i connect it to my dome light and nothing came on when the doors were open, when i use my 24v plug to the cigarette plug it came on and works with the remote. the red "vampire clamp" were tightly sealed and is connected from "yellow-red" and "black to black" just like the video and nothing worked? any tips advices. not sure about the cigarette plug as instruction said to connect to dome light? not sure how to connect the Brawlee LED with door lights. (FYI your cigar ACC fuse will blow up, get a replacement)
@@thedeafrcadventurer8951 Im sorry you are having issues. Splicing into the dome lights for a hard wire is going to be a more permanent install. You can keep it plugged up to the cigarette outlet in the rear of the Jeep as well for a more simple plug and play install. Both ways work.
My question too. Looks like it’s hard wired. No mention of a plug I think if you install the remote function it has a separate plug that can be placed as a junction from the top to the roll bar but it’s unconfirmed
Tj Crawford @1:40 you can see there is a plug on the other end of the power wires also @3:18 I go over how to plug 🔌 in the remote wire. That is were you unplug the light to remove your top. Sorry for not being clear about how to remove your top with the light.
Yea I understand lol.. Well if you are from where I think you are, we are neighbors. I can throw a rock a hit prolly the biggest jeep dealer in our area. Anyway you more than welcome I will keep eyes open for new content and maybe I can help you get some good stuff for your channel I'm about to start a JT build I'm going to do a ton with 40s set up I'm also going to do a cummings swap out off a Nissan titan HD trans and all of I can make the set up work and pretty close to all the stock computer features if not I plan to order a 2.8 for it

The only thing I think works is the 20% 50% 100% function. The on button and off button as well. If your remote isn’t working it’s probably got a dead battery or its bad out of the box. Make sure when your connecting with the remote you turn the Jeep off and close all doors to power it down. Once you open the door it should auto come on or if you have wired it directly to power it will only come on when the remote tells it too. To test the light works you can try the cigarette lighter plug in and give it more direct power.
