This is the build direction I’ve been looking for, thank you! I love the magic in the game and sorceries seem to be much more combat effective than incantations, plus a lot of incantations can be replaced by craftable items more so than sorceries. Bleed damage is cool, but not cool enough to commit to arcane when it’s otherwise kinda useless. I think if I commit to my current build and just buff vigor, mind, and intelligence every level, I’ll be able to approximate this as a slightly more melee focused build.
Thanks for this amazing video. I was trying out pretty much almost the same build and it’s like you say, much more fun and rewarding. Thats why I prefer the MLGS over the Moonveil
From has to make larval tears farmable. I can’t begin to come up with an argument for why not. I’d love to have one character that I could play darkmoon great sword and moonveil katana and just swap stats back and forth for whatever i want to use at the time.
@@gelato-x234 you get 18 Larval Tears per run of the game. If you’re changing your build that much in one run then that’s your own fault lmao. From soft has never been that lenient to just let you change your build whenever you please lol. Imagine just being able to infinitely change to whatever is most op at the time. Shits stupid. Get some free thinking and make a build yourself.

Who said I change my stats that much? My point is this: saying that an item is farmable by making a new game plus is fucking retarded and not a “farming” method if it takes me 40+ hours just to get 18 of them. Also who Tf cares if someone wants to change their build 30 times in a single run?? It’s a pve game and the pvp is shit and is played by probably 5% of the active player base of which 90-95% are running the most OP pvp shit in the game anyways so it’s not like having only 18 of them is stopping them and it’s an RPG. RPGs KNOWN and loved for giving the player as much freedom as possible which would include freedom to change your character

Not to mention the Snow Witch hat giving you some bonuses to frost magic, Adulas Moon Blade and Dark Moon Greatsword are a match made in heaven with the hat.

But fr does anybody know how much frost is added from the buff I'm trying to pick between the dark moon greatsword and deaths poker for my frostbite build and that's the deal breaker knowing how much is actually added.
Great video, although you may want to alter stats and remove the soreseal, it tanks your defence so hard in this game and the difference without it is really noticeable.

Do you think I should wait for Ng+ to use this build or is it ok to just switch now, I'm using a colossal sword raw damage and high health build right now and am almost at the end of the game
What I've noticed with changing builds is that it takes time to adapt to the gameplay loop of the new playstyle. You'd prolly be better off waiting until ng+ as some of these end bosses are really difficult.
you ran out of larval tears? exploring Nokron got me about 6 or 7 larval tears alone >.> and seeing as your have the sword you have to have been there...
I was originally trying to make a Bastard's Stars + Wing of Astel build but the gameplay was too boring imo. It would have been cooler if using both weapons gave some kind of buff to the weapon skill.
@@DareToWonder As far as I can tell nothing happens. The star has a fun weapon skill which in theory should destroy larger enemies, other than that its a cool looking flail.
@@iiDOCKERY you'll be able to find more at Crumbling Farum Azula and fighting dragon bosses but I think they are limited for one playthrough. Don't know if others found ways to farm them
@@hoarauadam9954 the type of attack doesn't matter, all damage from a weapon is based off it's attack power. You can see your current attack power on the status screen. If you look at the weapon, Dark Moon Greatsword has a scaling of B for Int, but only D for Str and Dex (when fully upgraded). Since its Int scaling is higher, you will get a bigger boost to damage by increasing Int. Increasing Dex or Str will also increase the damage, but not as much as Int. So you want to focus your points in Int, up to the soft cap of 80.

You can definitely just use Terra Magicus to increase your magic damage (35% buff) and go pure melee if you desire.

They are farmable, just do NG+ lol.

Try using spiked cracked tear also, for enhanced charge attacks. Works great with the dark moon greatsword 🤘🏻

You can farm larval tears from the giant sphere trap enemies. I've gotten multiple from killing those things in Nokstella.
They only drop once when you kill them for the first time unfortunately
I'd recommend the axe talisman instead of the ritual shield talisman, due to the fact the weapons charged attack giving you range

Staggers her just fine and Malenia has pretty low frost resistance. Damage won't be an issue, basically

I have a very similar build but I have two greatswords instead of 1 and I swap to the jellyfish shield when I have my staff out for increase damage :)

Larval Tears aren't farmable? I have like 8 on, the enemies in Nokron were dropping them like crazy
There are like 15-20 tears in a single playthrough

In your stats section, you forget to mention that the min. requirement for strength needs to be at 16 for the Great Moon Sword.

I use armour purely for aesthetic purposes. If you wanted to min-max then Ranni's hat would be nice to buff Adula's moonblade.

+10 requires a somber ancient dragon stone which I have only found 2 of, so didn't want to waste them

If your strenght is at 11 does that mean the normal attacks will be weak? Or will they be strong because of intelligence
typically the weapon upgrade and scaling matters. If it scales of magic/int then str doesnt matter :v
