Mary Chambers Bibb (1816-1835) was the wife of William D. Bibb (son of Gov. Thomas Bibb), daughter of Dr. Henry Chambers. She died shortly after her marriage from a poison that her nanny had accidentally given her, mistaking it for medicine. She was buried in her wedding gown and legend says she was interred sitting up in a rocking chair. Her mausoleum was the first built in Maple Hill Cemetery.

First time watching so thank you for taking us there. I’m a long time history buff & cemetery explorer and I have a tip for whenever you have trouble reading a gravestone…take a sheet of paper and run a pencil sideways over the writing and it will show up every time. I learned that in 1972!!!

Each person narrates their story in the tombstone. This is definitely interesting for me because I’m learning new things and new concepts. If I do obtain an opportunity to tour graveyard 🪦 in the coming years, I will make a trip to the cemetery.
Suggestion. Get some tracing paper and some dark colored crayons or kids chalk, you can trace over the really worn headstones, it will usually bring the carvings to where they're readable. You do a great job finding the best stories. 👍👍👍

If you ever get up north to Pa. Try Girard ( pronounced ) ger ard! The cemetery there is the home of a famous clown named Dan Rice!
They also have a plot there that had a dog sitting in a chair. I can’t remember the story of that one, but it also has a large older section you might like!

I always enjoy your TH-cam trips!! I used to go to cemeteries & walk around & see what I could see!! It's interesting!! One time, I went to Shannon Memorial Park between Ft Worth & Arlington & found a grave stone with my name on it! Boy, that made me feel creepy!! A little further along, I found one with my uncle's name on it!!
I bet finding a gravestone with your name on it is weird. I haven’t ran across that yet. If I do I’ll be sure to film it.
Oh also I suggest you bring a flashlight when looking at these old graves as it helps to see it better.
I would love to see the older dates.

There are 2 rocking chair structures graves out there, maybe 3. That one is the best looking one.

I feel the same way you do about the history of the grave yards here in Iowa I’m putting together a murder suicide of a farmer in 1985 that was millions in debt with the bank that shot three people then took his own life then there’s The ax house we’re eight people died in the early 1900 hundreds all kind of story’s about it but not much of a full video yet
