Great reaction guys! I just knew watching you two react to this movie would be great! It was a brilliant made movie! With such little dialog it's amazing how ingulfed you get into this story!
This film was such a great surprise. I mean, I expected it to be good (based on the reviews), but *man* this turned out to be so much better than anybody thought. 😀 Everybody in the cinema got so drawn into the film that when anybody made any noise, we all jumped. 😁 The sequel was almost as good and different enough that it wasn't just a re-hash. It's definitely worth seeing, as well. 🥳
This is a great choice if you aren’t interested in traditional horror films. It’s more on the line of sci-fi suspense drama. A similar film would be Signs with Mel Gibson and Joaquin phoenix.
@@RamblersInc I'm not a fan of traditional horror films either. I like psychological thrillers. I really enjoyed how both of you were squirming during the jump-scares. LOL
I've given birth twice completely natural, no medication. So I always judge actresses/movies on their labor scenes pretty harshly lol.. but Emily Blunt's screaming is very realistic 😆 gave me a little PTSD haha love y'alls reaction!!!
Hey, see? That wasn't so bad. You'll be up to Hereditary and Day of the Dead (1985) in no time. :) All kidding aside, there are some *great* horror movies out there you are missing out on. Even better than "A Quiet Place". Push your boundaries; I'm sure they'd be AWESOME reactions for the channel. Just sayin' Win-win.
9:09 This movie does a great job of building tension with the quiet so the jump scare are very effective 18:40 I’ve stepped on a nail before. Definitely hurts but not as much as I expected. I picked my foot up and a board was “attached” to my foot. 28:12 so many problems. Great reaction. Hope you do some horror. Small steps.
The first time I watched this it was a pirated copy that didn't have subtitles and I loved it. As someone that doesn't like horror either I highly highly recommend The Others. It didn't have any gore or cheap jump scares.
If you are picking sci-fi horror, then watch Alien (1979). I had a different problem with The Quiet Place than most. (A common problem was that the family should have lived at the waterfall.) I liked the premise but disliked the execution. For a movie called The Quiet Place, it was a noisy movie. If I had made the movie, I would have had no music, none of the loud jump scare bangs, etc. Instead, I would have made sound the star of the movie. There are so many background sounds that we hear often/constantly that our brains tune out. I would have filled the movie with the sounds of the world, like leaves rusting in a breeze. Also, there was a possible issue with the deaf girl. While sounds are vibrations and humans can feel vibrations, hearing sounds with your ears is much more effective than feeling them with your other body parts. If the girl was completely deaf from birth, then she does not know what causes sound and to what intensity nearly as well as people with hearing know. She'd would have been one of the first to die. However, I don't know the details of her deafness. Maybe it was recent.
I was thinking the same because that would made life so much easier 😂. But then maybe it made more sense living where you already had plumbing and electricity ? Would attempting to build a place near the water have caused more noise than the water itself ? She had a cochlear implant so would have been able to hear for a while. But as time went on the hearing got worse and the world went to hell so he had to find ways to enhance the implant.
@@RamblersInc Good points (and thanks for the info on the implant). When one of you mentioned snoring, I thought that they would have already been killed by then. And now I'm thinking about natural selection in general. It seems that the most suited for dealing with the creatures would be surviving the longest. Kind of throws my "most people would be like..." thought out of the window (unless I end with "dead" :). Very good question about building near water being noisy. Hammering lots of nails might be too dangerous. However, you can build without nails. Also, there is the strong desire to stay where you current live no matter what the circumstances. In the US, we have areas that get hit every year by tornados or hurricanes. And people don't move somewhere else. At least that's what (many/most?) Americans are like. What's it like on your side of the pond?
I immediately thought about the first people to go, being all the farters/burpers/snorers in the world 😂 Luckily we don't have live near any fault lines or have super extreme weather (except that it's more often colder than it is hot most months of the year). I've thought the same. Even people that live near volcanoes. I think an active one in Bali erupted recently and I've always thought " why live there?". It's always been a way of life I suppose.

I do enjoy the movie except for the nail part. I think its so stupid & unnecessary cause they clearly been going up & down those stairs for some time & yet none of them has seen it?! & why is it needed in an already dire situation of giving birth while not trying to make a sound?! Then again, would also get condoms rather than have my baby grow up in a box! Imagine the claustrophobia that kid may have in older age lol 😆
Plot point I guess. Made a good one too. Ouuuuuuccccccchhhhhhhhh. I'm just glad that box drowned out the sound, otherwise that's basically a box meal for the monster 💀.
definitely recommend doing the second movie too! it helps with other info and also continues the story
