One of the least patterns that i think it looks great on both side. Gonna try this for my next project. Thinking about white yarn for the shell and light blue one for the sea.
Thank you for sharing this lovely pattern. You did a great job with the video, i love how you showed both the right and wrong sides. Some videos just don't do that which to me it's kind of annoying.

This is easy and I'm a beginner but what I'm confuse is how you cast this on since your using 2 colors
You cast on with one color first. Make garter stitches rows then change to another color

why purl 2 through the back loop? why not just purl 2 together normally all across? does it do something to the pattern/stitches? I'm just wondering
It's so it leans in the right direction. If you purl it normally it will slant in instead of slanting out. p2tbl on one side and regular p2tog on the other half.

I am doing it on circular knitting needles. I am using a size 8 which is a 5.00 mm. Do the slingshot cast on. When you get ready to change colors, take color : B and tie it in a knot on color: A, that way you can change colors with out cutting the yarn to change to the next color. I am making a red and black throw blanket with this pattern. It is beautiful. The cast on for it is 296.
For the pattern to work as a throw blanket, you need to do 9 knit stitches in between the the shells on rows 7 and 15 the rest of the pattern is right . And the cast on multiples are right.

This design my mum done more than 40 years ago and she made my little sister's cardigan all the time she was creating new designs mid 60's she came in UK and English lady taught her how to knit but she was experts in crochet she still enjoys knitting 😁🇬🇧

Can you make this stitch "skinnier"? I want to make a scarf, but I prefer skinny ones. I'd like the stitch to alternate (1 below, 2 above, then 1, etc) but I'm not sure the count.
