Dwana when I was in the fifth grade I did a book report on my favorite hero that was your father and now you've gone home to see him may your new life in heaven be filled with eternal laughter and happiness God bless you for all you have done for keeping his legacy alive. RIP
When I first saw this when it came out, I never forgot it. Joe Don Baker was absolutely the best to play Buford too. I’ve seen it many times since! But, only the one that Joe Don is in, not the sequels, they can’t even come close to the original! And, I saw Buford on interviews and my husband and I went to Tennessee on vacation and visited the museum of Buford Pusser. I do remember the actress who played his wife dying and also Brenda Benet. So darn sad, all of it! But, I didn’t know about his daughter! They all died so tragically.
My Sincerest condolences, I did not know Dwana had left us. May she be at peace with her Mom and Dad.Forever remembered, never forgotten, And Always walking tall. God Bless You.

REMEMBER THESE WERE THE PEOPLE IN THE TOWN GOOD DECENT HARD WORKING PEOPLE THAT VOTED HIM OUT AND NOT THE CROOKS AND CORRUPT TENNESSEE PUBLIC OFFICIALS. THINK ABOUT THAT

I did not know she had passed, very sad. She was a unique individual, I was in college a few years ago and writing a term paper about her father, I had a rare opportunity to interview her about her father. I initially started with the museum when I called and Dwana answered the phone.
Wow! I did not know Dwana had died? My goodness gracious. What's happening since with the museum and family home as well as Buford Pusser days? She was the driving force behind so much of that.
Saddened to learn of Dwana's passing. I met her in 1979 at the house which is now the museum. I had driven to Adamsville to visit the site of the motor vehicle accident and cemetery where Buford was killed and laid to rest. I decided to call the house and ask if I could visit the home and perhaps see some pictures of Buford. Helen welcomed me and was very generous and hospitable. Dwana and her very young daughter were there as well. I can only imagine how Dwana must have disliked strangers dropping by at a moments notice. Her friendliness and hospitality were much appreciated. I was thrilled to have a photograph made with Helen and Dwana(which I still have).

She was young, wasn't she? So sad; but because of her commitment to her father and the legacy of a true American hero she will live forever in the memories of the brave men and women of law enforcement. She can be reunited with her daddy, mama, and the man that stood the tallest of all men; Jesus Christ. God bless your family and thank you for your years of reminding us what a true American looks like. Buford Pusser, through the movie Walking Tall, was a great influence in my life. I can remember as a little boy watching the edited version on TBS. I was so struck by the story and the man that it was all about that I dedicated my teen years pursuing a career in law enforcement. Unfortunately, I had a lot of physical limitations so I could not be a law enforcement officer, but I strive for excellence and I always uphold the law and stand behind every single law enforcement officer. God bless you. Rest in peace.

She was a beautiful lady. Terrible to hear of her passing. 😢
Rest in peace to you Dwana, your beautiful mother Pauline, and your father Buford.
I did not know she had passed, very sad. She was a unique individual, I was in college a few years ago and writing a term paper about her father, I had a rare opportunity to interview her about her father. I initially started with the museum when I called and Dwana answered the phone.
May she R.I.P. with her Dad and Mom...
Rest in peace sweet child.

I remember when you came up to Nashville with your dad such a little girl ❤
