There was already a message by Takahashi and he confirmed that in the final shot that's the mechonis sword and the urayan titan, and that this game was already being planned at the beginning of xenoblade 2's development so there was definitely some long term planning. Also confirmed the composers and character designers (basically the same as Xenoblade 2 including Masatsugu Saito and Mitsuda).

The Vandham look-alike can definitely be Zeke provided that Zeke had somehow extended his life being a blade-eater. Also the Vandham look-alike kinda also looks like has a scar on his chest. Making me think more that this could really be Zeke.

There’s always a “Vandham” character in the xeno series. Xenoblade 1 had Colonel Vangarre, X had General Jack Vandham, and Xenoblade 2 had Vandham as the leader of Garfont.
Xenosaga has Ziggy ok maybe not....

I think it's meant to be the Urayan titan remains. If it is, the title screen art is basically a combination of XC1 and XC2's art--XC1 being mechonis in the background and XC2 being the Urayan titan in the background

My theory is that all of the people who have the blue glowing circles on their clothes are the people from XC1 because those belts are exactly what Shulk was wearing in Definitive Edition. The MC's weapon looks like it's a replica Monado version of the Monado 3 too and because of his black hair I'm guessing he's a descendant of Dunban perhaps?
Or a descendent of shulk and fiora she was his brother and the black hair could have been a recessive gene.

I was cautiously optimistic, but the more times I watch this, the more I am OK with the merged universes
I'm thinking the Vandham in XC3 is an old Rex, carrying on XC2 Vandham's legacy (and maybe Zeke's with the eye patch????). Its hard to tell by the lighting but I think that new Vandham has brown hair. Likewise, it appears like he has yellow eyes just like Rex. Perhaps he gained greater longevity than others after being the Master Driver (similar to Amalthus's)? Also the narration made by XC3 Vandham makes it sound like he knows who the "true enemy" is.
Amalthus had a much longer lifespan anyway, being Indoline. On top of that, he was a blade eater. I don't think being the Master Driver would necessarily have extended it any more, but maybe. I would love to see that Vandham turn out to be Rex, just because it makes more sense than being Zeke. But again, reincarnation is also a recurring thing in the Xeno series and it could be the original Vandham.
@@4KDolbyDigital I definitely agree with the Amalthus standpoint, and I wouldn't expect Rex to live nearly as long as him. But I would imagine 50 years extra is somewhat reasonable?
Also my guess based off of Melia being in the game (if that is really her) and High Entia biology is that XC3 could take anywhere between 0 - 300ish years. I'm more inclined to believe that its 50-100 years personally just from young Melia appears to be (unless there are wrinkles under that mask lol).
Likewise, I think if there is anyone who would look like XC2 Vandham (intention or unintentional), it would be Rex. It would make sense seeing how much Rex idolized Vandham. Additionally, the VA for XC2 Vandham has returned and had very important lines in the trailer. To me it sounds like XC3 Vandham knows much more than what an average solider in either Keves or Agnus nations would know.
But I agree; I would never rule out reincarnation in a Xeno game. It could be something as simple as that.
The “Vandham is Zeke” makes a lot of sense, because I can easily see Zeke cosplaying as a “hero of legend” (thanks Minoth’s play). Him having a core crystal could easily extend his life.
I doubt it’s Rex because I doubt he’s still alive. He’s no longer a Blade Eater by the end of 2. We DO hear a more-mature sounding Al Weaver here, so I’m gonna guess that’s a flashback
Vanham is a character that has appeared multiple times in the original series (sagas and gears)
He was in almost every game with a similar personality but a different person.
Vandham was a main character in x. And in 2. And I believe he was in 1 somewhere as a minor character. Ah yes! He was renamed via translation and was the purple mustache guy named Colonel Vangarre.
He has been in ever xeno game. And this will continue that trend

5:11 Well, considering he's a Blade Eater, there's probably the potential for him to be around as long as Pandoria is. It really looks like Vandham's model though, he's even got the same scar on his forehead. In the end though, the story might by fleeting but the Van man is eternal.

I got X vibes a lot. People are telling that they forgot about X, but the vibes in that trailer were high. Also high Entia girl for some reason reminds me of Elma a lot.
At 6:04 , it's obviously Shulk and Fiora's child/grandchild. 1:26 is obviously Melia, and she's much older. Since she was 87yo in XC1, she's probably aged almost another century or something
The girl with the black hair and Monado replica, is either Shulk's or Rex's descendant. And the girl with the core crystal on her chest is Nia, she's still alive.
@@rumotu They combined literally errything from all Xenoblade games. Canonically. The character designs look SO clean, like they used XCX models and added the XC2 art onto them. It looks like a more mature/less cartoony Xenoblade and I love it

I only hope the battle system is something like Torna in there because I liked that one the most. And that they give us XCDE visual customization where we can use visuals without changing stats.
We heard Pyras voice in the trailer which basically also confirms Mythra, so this is already a 10/10 game for me. I am excited to see how they connect the new game to XB1 and 2!

Something I noticed is our Reyn this game seems to be a Machina? He has a very similar face to Egil but does not seem to be as tall or robotic as the other Machina. It makes me think this is WAY in the future where the Machina evolved.
I also saw that in that opening shot there were no blades, like not even the common ones. Maybe blades are antiquated technology now?
Also, the Shield Hammer girl has hair a lot like Brigid. Maybe blades can awaken themselves now?
Not sure AT ALL whether this is XC1 or XC2 world as a base though. My gut feeling is that XC1 overlapped with the XC2 world due to Shulk or some external force.

As far as I can tell it looks like because of XC1&2 are at the same time, this game is direct sequel, like 3 Aegis crystals fused so their worlds fused too, creating new stuff and reincarnating everyone that fell. And fusing those who lived.
My day one theory is that when shulk wished for a new world without gods, alvis found it easiest transfer over the various aspects of xbc1 into Alrest, likely sometime very close to after the Titans come together
My original thought is maybe Mio who looks like Nia is the human (Nia’s “sister”) and They somehow split and they both kept a core crystal similar to the aegis at the end of 2, but I’m honestly not sure anymore it’s probably a coincidence
I am unbelievably hyped about this. Xc2 is one of my favourite games of all time and I just got xc1 for Christmas. It looks amazing, September release date, I can't be happier.
I got XC1 on Christmas too, and I am nearly done. It has been a fun ride playing the game.
The main character reminds me of Fei, mostly due to his character design and the emphasis on music. I really hope they don't lean too heavily into blatant fanservice with past characters (it has to make sense if it is implemented) and have a more consistent story tone than 2. The world design and enemies look so good, I can't wait.

I think the core in Mio is pinker than blue, meaning that Nia is probably her mother and her father is a Homs, hence her Core crystal being more Homs and less blade

It makes sense to have Gormotti and all other races considering the titans all fused into one massive continent. Any relation to old characters has to be purely speculative until further notice. Through time and different races getting married you easily get high entia with brown hair and any other combinations.
The real question is how the two worlds come together. I guess we should have known the Nopon Archsage would always be the last boss of the series.
On a more serious note, I get the sense from the dialogue that the conflict is between the two worlds and not the two worlds united against a common enemy, at least in the early game.
Have you thought about how far 2 worlds apart? To me like Earth and Venus/Mars or even Shulk is American while Rex is Japanese. Cloud Sea might play bigger part in this merge..
@@veeshadow Klaus's experiment created a singularity so they could very easily be parallel and overlapping. In 1 the titans emerged from an endless sea, whereas in 2 there was a sea under the cloud sea at the end (Azurda flew the party to new super continent of dead titans). So we don't need space travel or anything.
However, the tech in the trailer could well be connected to X. The battle from which the White Whale fled looks like the opening of chapter 10 in 2. Lots of potential here.
I‘m not quite sure how I feel about the story kinda uniting Xenoblade 1 and 2 instead of telling a whole new story, but I‘m definitely pumped for this game.

idk what you are talking about, this is EXACTLY what myself and many others have been asking for.
Xenoblade has consistently been one of the only game series' that has been able to make me SOOOOO excited. Like, i LOVE lore, and the fact that i am pretty sure (guessing) this takes place sometime after the first game(maybe even after the second?), but still in the same planet/universe, makes me SO happy because that means we will get more lore directly about the original xenoblade world, whereas in xeonblade 2-- SPOILERS FOR XENOBLADE 2 --
you get to see Zanzza directly, but that's about it. and Xenoblade X is so far removed from the original games that i actually don't even remember if they are related.
XC2 legit had the richest lore in the trilogy about the origins of the worlds and the true history.

I'm so hyped, I really hope to see my boy Shulk (well, probably an old version of him) somewhere later in the story, hopefully with Rex, but I doubt it's happening. We will have to wait and see! Collector's edition will be mine as soon as possible.
Pretty sure the short haired cat girl is also Nia just in Driver form, while masked Nia is in Blade form. It might just be a new character designer. Also in the exploration bit there's a shiny sphere on the ground, like Xenoblade 1's collection system.

I get the vibe that there's some split thing going on with the Nia lookalike. The party member version looks like Driver form Nia, the masked version looks like Blade Nia, and the dialogue ("Tell me, what would possess you to side with them?" "We fight because there are enemies to kill" over footage of MC and "Driver Nia" fighting) implies that "Driver Nia" turns on the MC at some point - maybe they've split into two people, or something's wrong with Blades that slowly turns Nia away from the MC's side until she goes full villain/antagonist mode and lives in Blade form 24/7? I'd assume "Driver Nia" is a different character than "Blade Nia", but she's also got the Blade Eater Core Crystal which makes me think it is the same person... But it could still be a relative or just some other Gormotti. I dunno, it's fun to speculate.
The next 7 months is going to be one of the most hype for Xenoblade Chronicles speculations and theories!

The MC's name is apparently Noah. So in XCX you have the Arks coming to Mira (sp?)...really predictions are just that the setting is the combined worlds of XC1 + XC2 after the end, XC1 is led by Melia, XC2 is led by Nia and the Ouroborous (again, spelling?) are the Fog Beasts/King, Gnosis equivalent...but also with Noah's hair..I know Fei technically has dark brown even if half the renders make his hair look black but just wouldn't be surprised if this is - to Takahashi - an amalgamation of all the Xeno series because he realizes a 6 game etc plan iscrazy :P Even if KOSMOS isn't a character I think she'll still be in it, if only as a Blade/Summon type. Also yay for people liking the soundtrack. Some of the musicians who worked on it (not just the composers) are super cool people to work with ; )
My current theory for the old Vandam look-alike is that its an old Rex and the designers took inspiration from Vandam of 2 who left an impression on him in the form of his hair and scar. That's if he's a real returning character and not a new one.
Really doubt the Vandam look-alike is Rex. His eye and hair color doesn't even match Rex's and it honestly doesn't make sense for Rex to grow up to practically be Vandam's twin in regards to appearance.
@@nobodyscomment929 its more likely a new character, but if it is a returning one, Rex i think fits more. The eye color looks closer to Rex's than say Zeke's. The lighting makes it harder to say for sure what color the hair is but even if grey, hair turning gray with age isn't surprising. But more than anyone, Rex has reason to take from Vandam. Where someone like Zeke barely knew the guy.
Lot's of Xenoblade 1 references & equivalence, if you listen hard to the a similar sounding binoios continent? No longer his friends their his fuel? Zanza reference or equivalent, definitely another Vandham, some kind of Yoldaboth equivalent & civil war setting. That's all I could pick up, others will delve more deeply, but that's just some quick observations after watching it a few times.
In the base XB1 and XB2 the heart of the teams were always the protagonist, Shulk and Rex, the party followed them through it all and now they are gone and there is no one to guide Melia and Nia away from the wrong path. Maybe something happened and these important characters to both world vanished causing the war between the 2 believing eachother to be the cause which would expalin the talk about defeating the real enemy, having to stop the misconceptions between these 2 worlds to gain a mighty force agaisnt the being causing all of this.
I may not have been the biggest fan of Xenoblade 2, but I a game based on combining Xenoblade 1 and 2 is very interesting.

The Vandham look-alike has black hair and from what I tried to tell (yet the lighting makes it really hard to tell 100% for sure) yellow eyes, given this, and how he precisely looks like Vandham while Zeke would have no reason to, this guy has a decent enough chance to actually be Rex, though he could also be someone completely new too, and who knows maybe he's actually Zeke

I see this game taking place after the deaths of Shulk's crew (or they'll be old) with Melia being alive and major story role because of High Entia aging.

The design on the 3 in the logo is the same design on the flute, so those flutes the main characters have are definitely significant!

According to the Nintendo website, among other stuff that's revealed, this game is based on the concept of LIFE, so it's not unlikely that some people were brought back to life/reincarnated (due to [STUFF ON THE WEBSITE])
My guess is the Vandam look-a-like is adult Rex modeling his hair after Vandam's.

The girl with the shield hammer seems to be an artifical blade or something like that.

The Vandham look-a-like has golden looking eyes so...Could it be future Rex? Now that I think about it...XC2 Vandham went by "Vandham" as a nickname inspired by someone he looked up to as a child. If that is future Rex and he goes by " Vandham" now because of the Vandham HE looked up as a child....That's actually really touching holy shit.
(Truth be told I really don't think it is Rex mainly due to the accent change, but I liked this idea)
It can't be Rex because it just doesn't make sense for Rex to grow up to practically be Vandam twin. Unless Rex is somehow Vandam long loss child I don't see in anyway the Vandam look alike being Rex.

I was disappointed when I realized it was 3 instead of an X port or sequel and then I realized this a direct sequel and THAT IS ALL I WANTED FOR 3. I dreaded thinking about 3 coming before an X port but WOW the trailer makes up for it tenfold.
the character who is voiced by reyn looks machina! he has lots of mechanical textures on him. not the exact same design as xenoblade 1 but similar
