My Ford 3000 tractor had a Kelly Loader that was installed aftermarket. It worked well but was obviously an add on as it didn't have the fit and finish. Also had to have a valve for hydraulics that had to be turned on to run the loader and off to use 3 point. Having a factory loader on my current tractor is a huge improvement.
@@2009rummell it was originally my grandpas. It had a loader when I was a kid that only had up down for the loader hydraulicly. The bucket had a pin that you would pull a lever it would gravity dump and then you would lower the loader to the ground to reset the bucket. I don't know if Ford ever had one like that from the factory. That was removed and my uncle installed the Kelly loader sometime in the 90s. Always interesting to see how how tractors have advanced. These little 25 horse tractors have so many features standard that weren't even thought of back then.
I bought a used 1025r (3 years old with 5 hours on the meter) with snowblower and ballast box for a really great price. Only thing is there was there was no loader. I was planning to buy one soon but maybe sooner would be a good idea.. Thanks.
Loader us the main reason I bought my jd2305. Retired the wheelbarrow. It took me 4 years to convince my wife the loader worked better than wheelbarrow.
We had a 21 year old New Holland compact tractor with an aftermarket loader added to it. Bush Hog brand. When I bought my new tractor last year, I got the factory loader with it. The old aftermarket loader was twice the loader the factory one is. Built much heavier, hydraulics worked better and control was more precise, lift capacity was greater, and it just simply worked better. It wasn't "quick detach" but honestly who really takes the loader on/off their compact regularly? When I shopped all the new tractors, the loaders all looked the same in terms of build design and quality. Very little difference other than paint color. I guess the moral of the story is that "factory" isn't always better. I got spoiled by the aftermarket loader and these lighter factory loaders just don't stack up.
Totally agree. Bought a Kubota BX1880 without a loader because I didn't think I needed one. Later found I really needed one and resale on the BX1880 was diminished because they said 90% of tractors have loaders and this one did not. B2301 with loader and grapple has made a world of difference in my life!
I have heard that too, but i have no way of knowing. It would have been nice if they actually talked the the westendorf rep or maybe done an apples to apples comparison to the factory loader specs. They should have compared accurate costs too, instead of the lowball estimate.
Well done video. A lot of great points in there. A lot of people are trying to trade in there 220 NSL loader on the 2038R and the dealerships don’t want them because they don’t have a market to sell them. I’m sure they are not easily adapted to an older machine like you were referencing
my dad got a loader installed for his kubota for 3 grand 5 years ago he bought the tractor new in 2000 it is a kubota loader installed at the kubota dealership
My father in law bought a new kubota B 2301 with a 4ft land pride brush mower a few months ago and did not buy it with a loader. I told him you messed up big time on that purchase.

Westendorf loaders are the best. We have a 50+ year old Westendorf that has been on an M, 806, 4040, and now a 4250. It's been painted and some bucket work done because of use, but it's great. That and my Gehl 4240 are the reasons I really did not feel and still do not feel I needed a loader on my 1025r. I'm happy with not screwing around with another loader and as you mentioned I got a screaming deal on a tractor that had sat on the lot for months. Obviously my situation is unique.
Tim and Ken, got my first tractor with a loader about 10 years ago. Found out quickly how handy having a loader really is. A loader makes a one man operation doable for so many chores and task. First option I added to the loader was pallet forks. Seldom use the bucket, forks stay attached and are only removed for the hay spear and occasionally the bucket. I am really enjoying your tour of the Farm Show.
Loader for a 2024R is &4800 and for a 3033R it is $6900 to correct your compadre's erroneous lowball estimate. Numbers are from the JD build your own estimator
I wonder how those costs compare to aftermarket loaders for those tractors. The 3 series deere loader specs aren't impressive. I wonder if an aftermarket loader performs better.
I think you both missed a big point. If you buy a tractor with a presumably unneeded loader, you’ll quickly find uses for it you never dreamed of to begin with. Thank of a loader as hydraulic shoulders, ones that can do what our own can no longer do or should no longer do. As we age, a loader will prevent many an injury to shoulders, back, knees, arms,etc.
NEVER BUY A TRACTOR WITHOUT A LOADER and power steering!!! I had a tractor with an after market loader AND NO POWER STEERING for years. It wore me out every time I had to do any thing but the most trivial of task. It flooded during Hurricane Harvey- I replaced it with a Ford tractor designed for a loader, and a loader designed for the tractor!!! It came with factory power steering, and now I can work it all day comfortably. Since it was designed for the tractor, I can't overload it, and it makes safe efficient lifts, plus parts are available from the tractor dealer. It also can be dismounted from the tractor by one man in twenty minutes if you need to. I have had it off twice for different things. TAKE THIS ADVICE! YOU WILL BE GLAD!
My tractor came with the Westendorf loader. It not a because I don't have the lever on the fender. It works fine with the lever on the loader. I know that I had to replace it, but unfortunately it broke. I got a replacement for it.
Ummm, no, a loader add-on with any make right now is 4800-6000K, as I have 3 different quotes since I am shopping right now. A loader on a used tractor adds about 4-6k to the price for the same tractor and you don't know how abused the tractor is as well.

Social media makes it hard to detect truth vs. lies. No question. In this case, I recommend evaluating the assertions we made in the video. I think you will find them to be accurate.
I needs me a loader! Definitely a prerequisite on my next tractor. I still go back and forth on the backhoe but I do have the land where it could be used on a repetitive basis so I'll probably just commit at some point. I wish dealers were keeping more tractors on the lot.

The first time you buy a 3-pt implement from an online source, you figure out you need pallet forks. And, if you pay the extra for a lift gate delivery, you pay for a set of forks pretty quickly. The friend I bought my used tractor from was building a barn, and remodeling his house. He bought the tractor to offload lumber deliveries, and to move them around once they were off the truck.
Just off topic. I never noticed the mass on Ken's right side of his chin neck area. Maybe he was stung but concerning as I new of someone who had something similar and was cancer.
I've had good luck sourcing loaders after buying a tractor.... had a boomer 30, with 200hrs got a deal on it @$4250 bought a n.o.s new holland loader for $3500... second time was a 2320 currently own it, bought tractor only for $2500 got a used like new john deere loader for it for $3000 both tractors are/ were worth considerably more then my total investment.... both loaders were a fair amount of travel time too but worth it to me. Your milage may vary.
How can you stand there with that dude named Ken discussing why you would or wouldn't want a loader....you can get pallet forks, grapple, move dir..bla, bla, bla....without mentioning the best loader accessory ever and one of the most useful tractor items EVER!!! I'll play devil's advocate on loaders. Although the video hits the nail on the head, I'll give you my scenario. I have two kubota b8200 tractors. The first one I found an oem bf300 off a dismantled machine. I had kept my eye out for it for 20 years. It was my dad's tractor, so I wasn't going to get rid of it.I couldn't believe my find and I paid 1300 dollars. Everything bolted right up as expected. The other b8200 had an Allied loader on it, and it is twice the loader, the original oem loader is. It's built heavier, smoother, easier to operate in general, and has superior visibility. I have also used another non oem loader, and it was only sufficient. It can be done, but if you come across a "deal" you may want to find an existing tractor/loader set up. Hello Tim, I bought a Kubota B2601 at the beginning of the pandemic to replace a Honda Rubicon 500 Atv which was my tractor, and was lacking in some areas, ok, as a tractor, in many areas. I continue to be amazed at the uses for the loader, the backhoe, and the ability of this little tractor. I am also overwhelmed by the warmth and congieniality of this TH-cam tractor community. What if you bought a tractor 15_20 years ago to say bushhog. Now you have expanded in more land manament and all ready own a paid for tractor. Adding a loader could make more sence then selling a buying more costly unit.. Just saying
If you like your tractor, it is all setup for you (other than the loader) and you don't "want" to upgrade, than I think it can make a lot of sense to add the loader. I think the point to the video is more about not looking to buy a "new-to-you tractor" without a loader, thinking you can get a bargain and easily add the loader yourself, ending up with the "super bargain" tractor/loader. So I think you both (or all three of you - Ken included) of you are on the right track of thinking, for whatever little my thoughts matter here🤣.
Makes sense to me. Bought a new tractor with a loader. Wish it had third function. At some point I will add it. No idea how much it will cost. Still love the tractor.
I bet 25-40% of the people that stop in to see about something I don’t have for sale are looking for a loader, another 15%. are looking for a backhoe. My advice is sell your tractor and buy one with those already equipped. I have sold a couple backhoe’s and I end up arguing with people who think the color matches it must fit their tractor, I’ve started putting in my add only fits models x y and z, if you don’t believe me and ask about another I will just say yes and take your money. on top of that I will not sell the power beyond kits. I have sold one garden tractor loader but nothing for a cut or scut. I always have the tractor they go on and get pestered by mobs that want me to separate it, no, you want it you can try to sell a tractor without a loader.
Be there did that. There are some less expensive compromises, but they are not a loader! A carry all can do a lot of what we use our loaders for. There are designs out there that can dump within the limits of the 3pH lift capabilities. An early version is the pond scoop (at least that is what we called them) these can be bought new fairly reasonably as well as found used in many parts of the country. There are newer wider versions as well. Check Pat’s (I believe) for a option For lifting there us a boom pole. No it is not a loader and never will be. But lots of things can be lifted with them. They are often available used. You can even find 3PH pallet forks. Yes you will have the limits of your 3PH ad far as lift (no unloading from truck beds, trailers will be difficult). Lastly, I agree that if you think you need a loader get one with the tractor! If you have never used a loader, you will be amazed at all the uses you will find for the loader. And it may be simpler to make payments on $30k than to spend half that out of pocket (went through this with my son just about 1 year ago when he decided Dad was right, he needed a tractor-borrowing dad’s was not reasonable being 600 miles away)
I found myself in this very situation i had bought a 790 jd brand new 1999 with a 60 in gear cut belly mower never thought i would need a loader or backhoe or could afford at the time house payments and growing family until one day i watched a you tube video of a man digging a ditch for electrical to his new garage TTWT and i had similar projects no longer available from jd so i did find a used loader and a coupler of years later a model 7 backhoe it took a few years and both needed cylinder leaks fixed pins bushings etc and your are correct it wasn't cost effective and it took several years to obtain but i was in no hurry and now cant live without either once you have it it gets used often thanks for the great videos keep up the good work and God bless
Never really thought about it, we have an old tractor on the farm from the 80's has a bush hog 2400qt was put on it for 800. That old loader is now worth 3 times that wow
You ask mtrost guys in the countryside selling used loaders, many will say the 2 they know they can always sell and at a premium is a JD loader and a Westendorf. Many times your factory loader is made by someone like a Quicke or other mfg.
When I bought my John Deere 2305 it had no loader. After searching for two years and looking at aftermarket loaders I gambled and inquired at my local dealer about frame mounts that would allow a 120r loader to fit a 2305. John Deere does not make such a thing. However it was my lucky day and found out that the salesman and his father on the side, make custom mounts at their shop to allow a 120r loader to fit a 2305. Works perfectly and if you didn't know they were custom built you wouldn't know. Even the brush guard fit too!
Good video, a loader minus hoses, and fittings, now try to fit it to the tractor, it will drain the wallet... time is money 💰 always plan ahead, this is a plan for what you will use the machine for, a loader is a tool that will be used, if isn't there you will miss it, your back will thank you for it layer, there is pallet forks for loader buckets for sale, you don't have to remove the bucket from the loader, they get the job done... 🙂
No loader tractors are great for mowing, but then you need tons of front weights and limited 3 PT use. Not sure why folks buy tractors without loaders. You always NEED a loader, LOL. Don't buy a new 13-30k tractor without spending the xtra 3k for the loader. Good advise for new tractor shoppers! Get the loader!!!! I use the loader every single day! I do not use the backhoe everyday! I don't use the mower everyday! I don't need to tow a cart! Bucket #1 attachment, period! Even the wife admits, our life would be so much harder without the tractor/loader. Only 7 acre lots, but man, 7 acres would be unmanageable without my Deere!
Sorry to have to correct you, Ken, but the 850 was made up to 1989, so it's really not all that old and certainly not 20-30 years old like you say. It's only...wait a second...carry the one...that can't be right, can it? Nevermind.
We have an old IH 574 with a 2250 IH loader that is of similar design to the Westendorf, I find the mount is far stronger and superior than our loader on our Kubota M8560.
Tim, Ken. I did this exact thing. I want to tell my story. You guys are right, this is not worth it but fortunately I got lucky. Five years ago I bought a 2210 with no loader, not even the hydraulics. I started to realize I was not going to find a loader let along the hydraulic valve. After a year, the hydraulics came up on Ebay. Everything I needed, even the plate that goes under the front of the seat all for around $100. Then I ended up finding a new loader. I was able to get an new H130 loader for 50% off the normal cost. These loaders from Deere are $4500. I get it for 2000 plus shipping. I was glad to get that loader so I could have a quick park loader. The loaders that came on the 2210 did not come off. It took a while to get everything I needed and I am glad I was able to find all of this. When I first got the loader installed and was trying to make it work, I had posted my predicament no GTT. I ended up taking the valve body back off and replacing the pressure relief springs. Then it worked fine. The tractor itself runs great and it was in ok shape, it had low hours on it but it needed tires. I have put new front tires on it. It does have a broken rear pto. I did not work when I bought it but I also did not know that the shaft was broken. I do not have any pto powered equipment so it does not really bother me at the moment. But I would like to fix it. It also needed u-joints on the drive shaft. I was able to get those at the local auto parts store. No one ever greased them. Last year I added the power beyond to it. I did not get the JD kit, I came up with it myself. I added the power beyond for less than $100. My experience is definitely not the normal. I took a big chance at having a big paper weight. This year I was able to get the 3 bag material collection system. I found a used one that was actually never used at a local dealer for 1/3 the prince of a new one, with the power flow. Now I need to make it go on the 3pt hitch. And I still want to get pallet forks.
I worked for a guy who bought a small John Deer off eBay back when eBay was new. He had to travel two days to pick it up. Then two and a half years later, he found the loader for it on eBay, and had to drive all the way from Idaho to the east side of Nebraska to pick it up. The funniest part was he designed and built a special tandem axle trailer to haul that specific tractor on, a year before he found the tractor. Because, he was certain he would find that model of tractor, and wanted to be ready to go get it. We all thought he was bit eccentric.
@@timothykeith1367 I agree, and he had full access to a fully equipped welding/fabrication shop: Overhead Crain on 80-ft rails; TIG, MIG, and stick welders; 15-ton IronWorker, and sixty some dies; brake and shear capable of 5/16 steel, milling machine and 2 lathes. We even had the capability to make soft and hard hydraulic lines. Like I said, “A bit eccentric.”
@@randallthomas5207 When you need a loader now , they are never available. But when you aren't looking you will come across them for cheap. I have the most difficult time finding nice sheet metal for older tractors. If you have nice photos of a loader and accurate measurements of a few pieces you can scale the other parts to be pretty close.

I just made a purchase of a brand new JD 5055E and 3036EN for my 15 hectare olive orchard -without loaders- (local dealer in my home country -Jordan- doesn’t stock any JD loader tractors); and I never thought I’d need one. Am I better off cancelling the purchase and importing loader tractors on my own?
This is a good subject to touch base on! When we where looking for another tractor for the farm we found a great deal on a Ford 3000 with a woods loader. I already owned a Ford Industrial Loader tractor and didn't need another loader but bought it anyways because they are far and few like you guys said!
Oh yea, they are not cheep. Really double their "guessed" price. A TRACTOR less than 150horsepower NEEDS a loader 95% of the time. Get the loader & be done with it.
I’d be curious your guys’ thoughts on situations where you would add a loader to a tractor. Only thing I thought of was if your tractor has sentimental value to you, but you still want to use it, you might be willing to pay extra to get an aftermarket loader installed.
Funny you should mention that because this is the reason why I am here. Looking in to adding an aftermarket loader to an inherited Ford tractor that is in pristine condition with low hours. I want a loader but don't want to give up the Ford due to sentimental value. My cost in the tractor is zero so buying an aftermarket might make more sense to me.
Makes some sense, yes. However, your Ford may not be well suited for a loader (hydraulics, transmission, 2wd, etc). So, you may end up with a machine that doesn’t ‘look’ the same as before, allowing some of the sentimental appeal, yet not functioning very well as a loader tractor.

Hi Tim, I enjoyed your discussion recently with Mike Morgan. I thought it an important point that a used tractor is only worth half the value without a front bucket. I have a Kubota B 8200 with only a 1,100 hours but no loader…and a B 3350 with a bucket…We usually use the B 3350 for everything!!

my kubota dealer only sells allied,quicke,kubota,case loaders wich he used to sell westendorf loaders and gave it up

We added a Westendorf loader to our 6403 100hp John deere. Cost us 10 grand till it was done. It wasn't cost efficent to buy another tractor for us

Back then most loaders were aftermarket. Not too many were factory until you got into the bigger ones

If you do the Build My Tractor on the Deere site, a loader for a 20xx is $5700, and for a 30xx is $6200.

I think the 21 year difference in manufacturing quality has something to do with the issues your pointing out
but you could buy 2 good older tractors and put loaders on them for a lot less then 1 new compact tractor

We are a Westendorf dealer. A OEM loader is not near the quality of a Westendorf. No matter what size tractor you buy.

My tractor came with the Westendorf loader. It not a because I don't have the lever on the fender. It works fine with the lever on the loader. I know that I had to replace it, but unfortunately it broke. I got a replacement for it.
I bought a 20 year old Kubota M4800 without a loader. I've found a used loader but can't find the mounts. The pain is real.
Ummm, no, a loader add-on with any make right now is 4800-6000K, as I have 3 different quotes since I am shopping right now. A loader on a used tractor adds about 4-6k to the price for the same tractor and you don't know how abused the tractor is as well.

Definitely a prerequisite on my next tractor. I still go back and forth on the backhoe but I do have the land where it could be used on a repetitive basis so I'll probably just commit at some point.

The first time you buy a 3-pt implement from an online source, you figure out you need pallet forks. And, if you pay the extra for a lift gate delivery, you pay for a set of forks pretty quickly. The friend I bought my used tractor from was building a barn, and remodeling his house. He bought the tractor to offload lumber deliveries, and to move them around once they were off the truck.
I have a Woods loader on my tractor and I love using it.
Guess it depends on your fabrication skills. I see used loaders for sale all the time

I've had good luck sourcing loaders after buying a tractor.... had a boomer 30, with 200hrs got a deal on it @$4250 bought a n.o.s new holland loader for $3500... second time was a 2320 currently own it, bought tractor only for $2500 got a used like new john deere loader for it for $3000 both tractors are/ were worth considerably more then my total investment.... both loaders were a fair amount of travel time too but worth it to me. Your milage may vary.

I'll play devil's advocate on loaders. Although the video hits the nail on the head, I'll give you my scenario. I have two kubota b8200 tractors. The first one I found an oem bf300 off a dismantled machine. I had kept my eye out for it for 20 years. It was my dad's tractor, so I wasn't going to get rid of it.I couldn't believe my find and I paid 1300 dollars. Everything bolted right up as expected. The other b8200 had an Allied loader on it, and it is twice the loader, the original oem loader is. It's built heavier, smoother, easier to operate in general, and has superior visibility. I have also used another non oem loader, and it was only sufficient. It can be done, but if you come across a "deal" you may want to find an existing tractor/loader set up. What if you bought a tractor 15_20 years ago to say bushhog. Now you have expanded in more land manament and all ready own a paid for tractor. Adding a loader could make more sence then selling a buying more costly unit.. Just saying

If you like your tractor, it is all setup for you (other than the loader) and you don't "want" to upgrade, than I think it can make a lot of sense to add the loader. I think the point to the video is more about not looking to buy a "new-to-you tractor" without a loader, thinking you can get a bargain and easily add the loader yourself, ending up with the "super bargain" tractor/loader. So I think you both (or all three of you - Ken included) of you are on the right track of thinking, for whatever little my thoughts matter here🤣.
Makes sense to me. Bought a new tractor with a loader. Wish it had third function. At some point I will add it. No idea how much it will cost. Still love the tractor.
I would assume around $1,200. Could be a little more or less, depending on style and connections.
I bet 25-40% of the people that stop in to see about something I don’t have for sale are looking for a loader, another 15%. are looking for a backhoe. My advice is sell your tractor and buy one with those already equipped. I have sold a couple backhoe’s and I end up arguing with people who think the color matches it must fit their tractor, I’ve started putting in my add only fits models x y and z, if you don’t believe me and ask about another I will just say yes and take your money. on top of that I will not sell the power beyond kits. I have sold one garden tractor loader but nothing for a cut or scut. I always have the tractor they go on and get pestered by mobs that want me to separate it, no, you want it you can try to sell a tractor without a loader.

A 320r loader will fit a jd 4310 with a factory mount and was cheaper then westendorf.

There are some less expensive compromises, but they are not a loader!
A carry all can do a lot of what we use our loaders for. There are designs out there that can dump within the limits of the 3pH lift capabilities. An early version is the pond scoop (at least that is what we called them) these can be bought new fairly reasonably as well as found used in many parts of the country. There are newer wider versions as well. Check Pat’s (I believe) for a option
For lifting there us a boom pole. No it is not a loader and never will be. But lots of things can be lifted with them. They are often available used.
You can even find 3PH pallet forks. Yes you will have the limits of your 3PH ad far as lift (no unloading from truck beds, trailers will be difficult).
Lastly, I agree that if you think you need a loader get one with the tractor! If you have never used a loader, you will be amazed at all the uses you will find for the loader.
And it may be simpler to make payments on $30k than to spend half that out of pocket (went through this with my son just about 1 year ago when he decided Dad was right, he needed a tractor-borrowing dad’s was not reasonable being 600 miles away)

I found myself in this very situation i had bought a 790 jd brand new 1999 with a 60 in gear cut belly mower never thought i would need a loader or backhoe or could afford at the time house payments and growing family until one day i watched a you tube video of a man digging a ditch for electrical to his new garage TTWT and i had similar projects no longer available from jd so i did find a used loader and a coupler of years later a model 7 backhoe it took a few years and both needed cylinder leaks fixed pins bushings etc and your are correct it wasn't cost effective and it took several years to obtain but i was in no hurry and now cant live without either once you have it it gets used often thanks for the great videos keep up the good work and God bless

You ask mtrost guys in the countryside selling used loaders, many will say the 2 they know they can always sell and at a premium is a JD loader and a Westendorf. Many times your factory loader is made by someone like a Quicke or other mfg.
Have a old Kubota l245. Hoping to get an aftermarket loader for it. Where do the hydraulics for the loader connect to the tractor?
That's not a loader for a subcompact, 6500 seems reasonable.
When I bought my John Deere 2305 it had no loader. After searching for two years and looking at aftermarket loaders I gambled and inquired at my local dealer about frame mounts that would allow a 120r loader to fit a 2305. John Deere does not make such a thing. However it was my lucky day and found out that the salesman and his father on the side, make custom mounts at their shop to allow a 120r loader to fit a 2305. Works perfectly and if you didn't know they were custom built you wouldn't know. Even the brush guard fit too!
Good video, a loader minus hoses, and fittings, now try to fit it to the tractor, it will drain the wallet... time is money 💰 always plan ahead, this is a plan for what you will use the machine for, a loader is a tool that will be used, if isn't there you will miss it, your back will thank you for it layer, there is pallet forks for loader buckets for sale, you don't have to remove the bucket from the loader, they get the job done... 🙂

I have a mower. I bought my little tractor because I wanted a loader. I couldn't say whether I have used the pallet forks or bucket the most.
No loader tractors are great for mowing, but then you need tons of front weights and limited 3 PT use. Not sure why folks buy tractors without loaders. You always NEED a loader, LOL. Don't buy a new 13-30k tractor without spending the xtra 3k for the loader. Good advise for new tractor shoppers! Get the loader!!!! I use the loader every single day! I do not use the backhoe everyday! I don't use the mower everyday! I don't need to tow a cart! Bucket #1 attachment, period! Even the wife admits, our life would be so much harder without the tractor/loader. Only 7 acre lots, but man, 7 acres would be unmanageable without my Deere!

We have an old IH 574 with a 2250 IH loader that is of similar design to the Westendorf, I find the mount is far stronger and superior than our loader on our Kubota M8560.
I don't think anybody has ever said , wish wouldn't have gotten that loader or 4 wheel drive.
Westendorf makes a very good loader. And the customer service is good.
$2800 to add a loader? hahahahaha more like 5800 to add the loader and 8700 to add the backhoe.

Tim, Ken. I did this exact thing. I want to tell my story. You guys are right, this is not worth it but fortunately I got lucky. Five years ago I bought a 2210 with no loader, not even the hydraulics. I started to realize I was not going to find a loader let along the hydraulic valve. After a year, the hydraulics came up on Ebay. Everything I needed, even the plate that goes under the front of the seat all for around $100. Then I ended up finding a new loader. I was able to get an new H130 loader for 50% off the normal cost. These loaders from Deere are $4500. I get it for 2000 plus shipping. I was glad to get that loader so I could have a quick park loader. The loaders that came on the 2210 did not come off. It took a while to get everything I needed and I am glad I was able to find all of this. When I first got the loader installed and was trying to make it work, I had posted my predicament no GTT. I ended up taking the valve body back off and replacing the pressure relief springs. Then it worked fine. The tractor itself runs great and it was in ok shape, it had low hours on it but it needed tires. I have put new front tires on it. It does have a broken rear pto. I did not work when I bought it but I also did not know that the shaft was broken. I do not have any pto powered equipment so it does not really bother me at the moment. But I would like to fix it. It also needed u-joints on the drive shaft. I was able to get those at the local auto parts store. No one ever greased them. Last year I added the power beyond to it. I did not get the JD kit, I came up with it myself. I added the power beyond for less than $100. My experience is definitely not the normal. I took a big chance at having a big paper weight. This year I was able to get the 3 bag material collection system. I found a used one that was actually never used at a local dealer for 1/3 the prince of a new one, with the power flow. Now I need to make it go on the 3pt hitch. And I still want to get pallet forks.
I worked for a guy who bought a small John Deer off eBay back when eBay was new. He had to travel two days to pick it up. Then two and a half years later, he found the loader for it on eBay, and had to drive all the way from Idaho to the east side of Nebraska to pick it up. The funniest part was he designed and built a special tandem axle trailer to haul that specific tractor on, a year before he found the tractor. Because, he was certain he would find that model of tractor, and wanted to be ready to go get it. We all thought he was bit eccentric.

@@timothykeith1367 I agree, and he had full access to a fully equipped welding/fabrication shop: Overhead Crain on 80-ft rails; TIG, MIG, and stick welders; 15-ton IronWorker, and sixty some dies; brake and shear capable of 5/16 steel, milling machine and 2 lathes. We even had the capability to make soft and hard hydraulic lines. Like I said, “A bit eccentric.”
@@randallthomas5207 When you need a loader now , they are never available. But when you aren't looking you will come across them for cheap. I have the most difficult time finding nice sheet metal for older tractors.
If you have nice photos of a loader and accurate measurements of a few pieces you can scale the other parts to be pretty close.

This is a good subject to touch base on! When we where looking for another tractor for the farm we found a great deal on a Ford 3000 with a woods loader. I already owned a Ford Industrial Loader tractor and didn't need another loader but bought it anyways because they are far and few like you guys said!

As a stand alone purchase, a 2R series loader is $4,250 - $4,950 and I don't believe that includes the bucket. A bucket can run $800 - $1,000.
Oh yea, they are not cheep. Really double their "guessed" price. A TRACTOR less than 150horsepower NEEDS a loader 95% of the time. Get the loader & be done with it.

I’d be curious your guys’ thoughts on situations where you would add a loader to a tractor. Only thing I thought of was if your tractor has sentimental value to you, but you still want to use it, you might be willing to pay extra to get an aftermarket loader installed.
Hard for me to see that situation.
Funny you should mention that because this is the reason why I am here. Looking in to adding an aftermarket loader to an inherited Ford tractor that is in pristine condition with low hours. I want a loader but don't want to give up the Ford due to sentimental value. My cost in the tractor is zero so buying an aftermarket might make more sense to me.
Makes some sense, yes. However, your Ford may not be well suited for a loader (hydraulics, transmission, 2wd, etc). So, you may end up with a machine that doesn’t ‘look’ the same as before, allowing some of the sentimental appeal, yet not functioning very well as a loader tractor.

Hi Tim, I enjoyed your discussion recently with Mike Morgan. I thought it an important point that a used tractor is only worth half the value without a front bucket. I have a Kubota B 8200 with only a 1,100 hours but no loader…and a B 3350 with a bucket…We usually use the B 3350 for everything!!
