@@357Striker no, that is for shure the original Praga engine. In games like war thunder, the german tanks are always less powerful in comparison to their real life counterparts. Just a game balancing thing, because the german tanks would otherwise be so much superior.

needed a commanders cupola for situational awareness and they could have made the sides flat with spaced armor to increase interior space while improving side protection
I agree, this, the Stug, and even the Panther were very cost effective for what they were. Hetzer was very easy to mass produce and made use out of outdated Panzer 38(t)'s

Somebody put it to me as follows. You've got two options. Option 1 is a towed Pak 40 behind an unarmoured tractor. You tow, hoping to avoid enemy aircraft as your overhead cover is only canvas, and you arrive at the position. You unhitch, possibly under fire, and drag the bloody big lump of steel through the mud and the undergrowth and emplace. You engage the enemy and then endure the returned small arms fire and shell splinters until you drive the enemy off or are forced to retreat and drag the gun back to your tractor unit. Or you just leave it and leg it. Option 2. You have a " Hetzer". You drive into a position and wait to engage. You're not there to Duke it out with enemy tanks as your armour is thin and of an inferior quality. You hope to engage on your terms, but at least you know that shell splinters and small arms fire won't ruin your day. If you need to disengage, you can drive away. Nippy ain't she. Shermans? Move to wet stowage and soon fit a hatch in the turret for the loader. If a significant, emotional event occurs, they're not a difficult vehicle to leave in a hurry. Ask the Chieftain, he'll tell you.
it was made to ambush things. So it was hidden, mostly digged to ground. Its cannon was very powerful and frontal armour was 60mm, but under great angle, so basicaly nothing was able to pen it frontaly.

Conceptually, this tank was primary intended as mobile anti-tank defense for the infantry divisions, which should be able to clear armor breakthroughs in their own line. So less for active ambush than defensive tasks. The second idea was to give fire protection to their own attacking infantry, thus the (almost) 360-degrees-machine gun, that could be operated from inside the vehicle. Infantry protection only works with a well organized infantry, which was not the case by July 1944 with an army on constant quick retreat.

Every british vehicle was called a tommy cooker, applying it specifically to the Sherman is dumb. 2. 1500 American tankers died during ww2, with around 1/3 of them being achieved while the tankers were outside the chat. 3. Stop referencing Helton cooper, he’s the literal definition of what survivor bias is,the Sherman was extremely survivable.

Why do you need a turret when you can "traverse" the gun in a quarter of the time. Along with the Stug one of the most effective tanks of WW2.
I agree, this, the Stug, and even the Panther were very cost effective for what they were. Hetzer was very easy to mass produce and made use out of outdated Panzer 38(t)'s
@@threadworm437 Actually it didn't, the Jagdpanzer 38t used a brand new chassis, it is both longer and wider than that of the Panzer 38t.
