  • Using pecky cypress from an old cart, marble salvaged from my building renovation, black pigment and some West System epoxy, I made display pedestals for homemade candles. I have a lot more of this material but I figured this would be a simple project to start with.

I just scored 20 12 inch wide 6ft-9ft pieces for 200 bucks. I have so many things I want to build.

I've been planning to do something with epoxy for a while, but I just haven't pulled the trigger yet. Honestly it's a little intimidating...that stuffs not cheap, and I'm afraid I'll mess it up!
    Love the drone footage!

Thanks! Some epoxies are a lot harder to deal with than others, especially if you need it to have special properties like being optically clear or castable in large volumes. West system is really easy to use as long as you do small amounts at a time. It has a dispenser pump that ensures proper proportions with out measuring which is really convenient.

Suggestions, this probably needed to be shot and speeded up then add a voice over explanation bc otherwise there are times when to the viewer there's a voice but it's so fast it's incomprehensible.

when the saw is operating with the waterhose attached n running,..is there any surity that water wo'nt get into saw?..and if it does, what happens first?

mark lewis I spent many years fabricating stone countertops this way and never had any problems but I do recommend making sure you’re working in an area that won’t allow water to puddle around you, use a grounded extension cord, clean and dry your saw afterwards and always say your prayers at bedtime.

You should get a construction job and learn how to be a man. Nothing happens. Unless your cord is cut. All power tools are essentially waterproof meaning the electrical circuits are sealed off. Christ kid this drill is clearly designed to be run this way.

@@chrish0178 waterproof? I don't know if I would go that far but, yes, you can do what he's doing safely. However, no power tools in the bath tub.

*It is absolutely absurd to deconstruct a* ONEOFF 150 yr *old New Orleans wharf dolly made of Pecky Cypress just to vulture off a few pieces*
This is an utter abomination imo especially considering you could have bought 3 small pieces of pecky from Riverside or Gueydan or Liberty lumber.
Thanks for making me sick to my stomach
