- I've been purchasing Manga from Forbidden Planet for over 10 years. Recently I wondered if it was possible to visit every story in as short of a time as possible.

I feel all us collectors show a great passion for Manga
This was my first time watching one of your videos and this was really cool and interesting to watch! Sucks that you had such a time crunch and only could spend a few minutes in some of the stores. I love doing a road trip and checking out the out of the way stores I never go too but I need some time to be able to explore with out feeling rushed.
Same I love a road trip, but sadly time was against me.
If I do it again I'll be sure to spread over a whole week.

Great vid, I was gonna comment about forbidden planet international but you mentioned it at the end, the one in birmingham is actually only about a 10 minute walk from the fp you went to, its a bit bigger to. future vid maybe 👀
This was a really cool video (definitely jealous looking at some of those stores)! Different from your usual fare but really fun and felt like I was really along for the ride. Would love to see something like this again in the future with other chains/stores.
p.s. - we talked about Batman comics a couple weeks back during a stream. Saw "Batman: The Imposter" in your footage of the Cambridge store. If you want something standalone that requires no previous knowledge, highly recommend it of you're interested. Probably my favorite Batman comic of 2021.

it’s a shame you weren’t doing the international FP stores because it’s the better out the 2 in Liverpool. They’ve decent sized basement FULL of manga and the Manchester branch is great too
Next time I'm up at Liverpool I'll check out International, for sure.

800 Miles was pretty tiring.
Is there no cross rail around the US? to be fair it would be sure long and expensive haha.
It was a great weekend... little stressful but was enjoyable.
@@DeBeOtaku some large cities have smaller train systems (like my city does have a system or NYC/LA have more comprehensive rail systems) they just are under used and don't generally connect to everywhere you may want to go. In areas of the south like where I am situated most people just own & drive cars - that's pretty much the standard with public transportation being very limited. - J

I guess because the UK is small it's easy to connect the whole country.

I visited the central London store last week. Such a lovely Hentai section. Unfortunately they didn't have much Manga/Anime merch (T-shirts) . Although I bought a nice Junji Ito T-shirt. ❤

Hello, I could do the same in Spain by visiting the main bookstores, which have many and a lot of material in a market that does not stop growing.
You should do it, show us what Spain has to offer in terms of Manga ^^

I frequent the Birmingham store quite regularly - did you happen to visit Tokyo Toys whilst you was there? Small shop, but they have a pretty good manga selection too!

@@DeBeOtaku I usually make a trip to FP then pop into Tokyo Toys to see they have any of the missing volumes I'm after that FP didn't have.
They have a much better selection when it comes to buying box sets too!

Yes, every main Forbidden Planet store offers 3 for 2.
However, it's mostly just VIZ titles and money from weekly Jump series. Kondansha and 7 Seas don't have the same offer. maybe rarely

personally I've been to 3 of the forbidden planets (Londons mega store, Leeds and Birmingham) and 4 of the forbidden planet internationals (Manchester, Sheffield, Liverpool and Nottingham)
for travelling man I've only been to the ones that are also in these locations + the one in York
I'd love to check out the International store. I'm told they have different discounts to the main store.

My closest Forbidden Planet was the Newcastle store. It's a shame you didn't get to be there for long.
5 Minutes was all I needed and yes it would have been nice to stay longer. Newcastle is a beautiful city

Their stock changes on a day to day bases so it's always just worth going anyways.

The one in Glasgow is a Forbidden Planet International store. Similar though different companies
@@DeBeOtaku Ah, thank makes perfect sense.. I mean it's confusing but I guess that's what happens when two companies name themselves after the same popular sci-fi movie / book, great video regardless.

We have A comic book store that sells Warhammer and stuff like that but no manga. Nearest one is a good 3-4 hours away

I only visited the main FP stores. Don't really undestand it but they are different.

The store in Cardiff is a Forbidden Planet "International". Similar store run my same people but effectively a different company. They also have different discounts instore.
But for sure next time I'm in the area I'll pop in.

Yeah you're right, I should change it. Though England, UK, Great Britain or even the World I guess would also be accurate. as there are only 9 official stores.
but I guess they are all in England only
