A hell of a battle. Alcorn wasn't laying down. I think they had more energy than SU. I wasn't expecting the aggression they gave. The arrangements are much better. There are some bad attacks, missed notes, and pitches that gives SU the W in my eyes. They just are more polished and cohesive in their playing. Not without their messups either but not as frequent.

Alcorn brought some heat to BR and this is just the ZERO… They sound leaps and bounds ahead of where they were at. Going to be interesting when they see Jackson IF they improve some more in the next couple of weeks. Mainly some minor missed notes/pitches. I like the song selections from both bands mentioning again this just being the zero Q… I’ll reserve overall judgement for when I see halftime, and the 5th gets released.
It was refreshing to see and hear Alcorn handle all the trap music and over playing and come away with a win. SOD and GGs congrats and thanks for the show.

We from the SWAC too, kid!” Good smoke on both sides. ((Mini shout-out to SU basshorns at 24:40🔥)) *THE BAD:* Both baritone sections when they left the practical register & went to the sky. It only happened maybe twice on both sides, but they have such rich, full, deep, dark, heavy sounds in the body of the horn (& I’m talking all the way up to concert Bb’s). . .and then, for some ungodly reason, they’ve gotta try to take it to the next level and be mellophones. I phkkN despise that mess. ((one example: SU@2:06 Alcorn@3:20 )) *THE UGLY* Y’all are gonna hate me for this & it’ll seem harsh, but: SU’s baritones. Southern’s my favorite band and have always had the top b-tone section (along with bones, mellos & percussion #EveryYear). The number of Btones should always be around the same as the mellos. There should be twice-to-2.5X as many bones & trumpets as Btones. WhoTF thought it was a good idea to march 30 phkkN baritones *AT SOUTHERN* - the one group that can get by with 14 compared to everybody else?? and WhoTF decided to *EVER* let them play in unison?? Listen to this section. . .then go back and listen to ‘08, ‘03, ‘90, ‘10, ‘93, ‘94, ‘09 with their 13 and 14 and 16 baritones. I told people in either 2013 or 2014 Alcorn was the next up and coming school to watch and to keep a careful eye on them.. they were building real fast and were getting better every year.. they got a little smaller this year but their heat is still there. i don't watch bands, i study them and knew Alcorn was on a come up. so It did not surprise me 4 or 5 yrs later when they bust SU ass in Su stadium on SU homecoming in 2018. but that's another topic. If Alcorn ever get the size of SU or Jackson it's gonna be trouble. I think they would be the like TXSU was in 05 and 06

If anything y’all giving the other bands TOO much credit and Southern not enough credit. No grading on a curve like people always seem to do only when it comes to Southern. It’s more like these other bands mess up constantly EVERY song throughout the song notes being missed, notes falling off, people holding over wayyyy too long WRONG notes etc but then get credit for just sounding “good”. If anything y’all giving the other bands TOO much credit and Southern not enough credit. No grading on a curve like people always seem to do only when it comes to Southern.
