Not trying to be rude or anything, but the oil is to help cook the popcorn. You want a couple of slices of butter to sit on top to melt after the corn has popped. If you just push the butter through the top , then your just adding butter to your oil!
It’s a butter flavored salt, every retail place in the upper Midwest uses it. I am not sure how far it’s distributed but the label says it’s from Michigan.
Use real oil like olive coconut canola. The first two being more healthy and delicious. You can also use vegetable oil which is the worse for but will still taste a bit better
