I remember I thought I found a meteorite and thought I was rich😂 This was before internet, so I had to call this special geology company in Florida and mail the sample to them which turned out to be a melted piece of solder😂 I felt just like Steven King on Creepshow where he has crossed eyes and goofy thinking he found a meteorite and he thought he was rich😂 I pictured myself looking and acting just like him in the movie I felt ridiculous.
That last one was painful to watch. It’s a good example of confirmation bias. He’s clearly done a lot of research into what he believes it is, but has only absorbed information that reinforces his beliefs, not anything that would go against it. Slag must have come up in his research - google image search for example, but he appeared completely convinced it was a pallasite. I hope he is not too disappointed and keeps looking with an open mind.
Thank you very much for this comment. Yes it was a hard one to get through with the actual submitter on the call with us. I am really hope that he listens to our feedback and is able to readjust his thought process.
I will figure out how to join because I believe I have several Lunar and Martian meteorites,my rocks have fusion crust, contraction cracks, yellow olivine crystals, flow lines, some also might have regmaglifs, and my specimens are large and heavy hopefully I get this membership later today
Thanks,I can't wait to join I hope that one of my samples is a meteorite i know it is unlikely but some rocks in my collection look like the real deal you will be hearing from me soon

Fun comment 🤣 I wish more people were able to hear and accept science facts over the loud screams of their cash register dreams.
Good video with good science based observations of the rocks submitted.
Thanks Pat! Your insights were helpful as usual. :)
She made the comment “you don’t get chondrules inside iron meteorites….” I did not know that..thank you.
Thanks for pointing this out. It's a great reminder for us to continually repeat basic facts and information that we take for granted.
