  • Penguins and puffins are two types of seabirds that are often confused with each other because they have some similarities in their physical appearance and behavior. However, they are actually quite different.
Penguins are flightless birds that live in the Southern Hemisphere, particularly in Antarctica. They have black and white feathers, a streamlined body, and flipper-like wings that help them swim in the ocean. Penguins are well adapted to cold environments and have a layer of blubber to help keep them warm. They feed mainly on fish and other marine animals.
Puffins, on the other hand, are small, colorful birds that live in the North Atlantic and North Pacific oceans. They have distinctive brightly colored beaks, with orange and yellow being the most common colors. Puffins can fly and have a distinctive flying style, with fast flapping wings and a slightly clumsy appearance. They feed mainly on small fish, crustaceans, and squid.
Penguin and puffin both are seabirds and expert swimmers. Both has similar black and white color spot which is called countershading. But there are a lot of difference between this two birds. In this video, we will talk about the basic differences between penguin and puffin.
In this video we try to share information about the basic differences between penguin and puffin according to their size, habitat, appearance, diet, diving and flying ability, nesting, reproduction, lifespan and also a lot.
I hope this video will be helpful and informative to you. Thanks for watching.

Comparing penguins and puffins always reminds me of Sven from Happy Feet Two. He’s a puffin but all the penguins assumed he was also a penguin but with the ability to fly. He lives in Antarctica despite being native to the Arctic because he was found injured by a research crew who then rescued him. Later, that same ship headed towards the Antarctic and Sven saw the crew cooking and eating chicken in the ship’s mess and assumed they were planning to do the same to him so he escaped and settled in Antarctica. The penguins, who are native to Antarctica have never heard of puffins before so they all assumed Sven was a penguin with the superpower to fly, until he finally confessed he’s not a penguin after unsuccessfully trying to teach the penguins to fly.
