      Costas is conducting an interview. He's not getting so emotional because it's not his place to do that, and he's a professional. We used to call that 'journalism' back in the day.

    In my humble opinion, Larry Bird in Boston was a fix job. The league wanted Bird in Boston. The Celtics and the Lakers are the leagues flagship teams. Everyone knew Bird's talent. It was not a secret. Indiana didn't pick him? What's that about?

    • @chuckkirby2708
      @chuckkirby2708 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Boston gambled and took Bird a year early. They could have lost him if he didn't sign and went back into the draft. Other teams could have done the same since the Celtics had the 6th pick in 78. Your conspiracy theory is absurd.

    • @anonymike8280
      @anonymike8280 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@chuckkirby2708 I don't think it was a gamble. I don't think it would have been a gamble for Indiana to draft him. It might have been for the other four teams ahead of Boston Seriously, do you think the league didn't want him in Boston? Do I really have to explain it to you? Marketing. Branding. A rising tide lifts all boats. All that stuff.

      @@anonymike8280 Why wouldn't it have been a gamble? If Bird doesn't sign, you lose him completely. Bird barely made it to Boston as it was. If memory serves me properly, he signed with days, not weeks, to spare. Teams weren't nearly as willing to wait on a player in those days as they were a decade earlier when freshman weren't allowed to play varsity and it was much more common to see players wait.

    If he goes to celtics you get more rings instantly... they gave up sharp shooters . Wiedman was best shooter on team and had other point guard ... needed to keep them and bias ... get a sabonis center. I think he got killed to stop Celtic domination for next 3 years... imagine new superstar plays offense defense bigger jordan type.. keeping bird fresh and McHale. Any way ... lol. Probably overdosed or poisoned set up ... talking corporations investments and future history of NBA. He was clean man. Could of ben c I a corp rufee drugged. They all died . Lol. Very fishy man.

      I dont think its that deep, id like to believe it wasnt his fault but most likely he befriended the wrong person and made bad choices that led to his death. Still wish we got to see him play in the nba, it would have been nice ti have another superstar rivaling jordan, would of made for entertaining games.

      Of course. You’re talking about just pure potential of a 21 year old. Nobody knows how it would’ve turned out and you can say the same with Jordan at draft day.
      But if Bias even turned out to be an all-star, there’s no denying that impacts the Lakers, Pistons and Bulls as the Celtics likely continue winning into the early 90s. Their main weakness after 86 was athleticism and depth and Bias would’ve given them that.
      Jordan is the GOAT because he grew tough from the Pistons battles. But if he continued to lose into 92 or so, they’re breaking those teams apart and his trajectory becomes different.

    • @Grief_Weasel
      @Grief_Weasel ปีที่แล้ว +8

      You haven’t a clue of what you are talking about. I was 21 when Bias died and I saw him play many times and he was the real deal. Super athletic, great shooter, fierce competitor, jumped out of the gym. Jordan did not peak at 22 he got even better as time went on and Bias had not peaked yet either. It’s a question that will remain unanswered.

    • @stackboostuploads

      Bias explosiveness and his mid range game was deadly offensively he was mixed between lebron and Kevin Durant all doe I still think bias was his own prototype and I guess he would have been a more efficient Dominique Wilkins
