I discovered Fanny recently and this is awesome to watch and hear. She definitely is slapping that bass proper! The funk is strong here.

Drummer is rock solid as well. They are all great.
Great players. I think their originals could have been better. Maybe if they had found a lyricist like the Dead (Robert Hunter) or Procul Harem. Their arrangementa of pop tunes are great.
Nobody can play a bass like that and sing so great as Jean Millington!, She never ceases to amaze me,,, love these ladies

I only just discovered these amazing ladies, it goes to show the Australian music industry in the 70s, obviously pre-internet, only let us hear what they thought would sell... I'm on the other side of 60... it annoys me intensely that I wasn't able to appreciate Fanny when I was a teenager. And now the rhythm section is mother and son? Just incredible.

Holy crap, Jean! HOLY CRAP!!
As a Filipino/American male musician, there were few role models in the U.S. for people like myself to watch or learn from when I started out. I only knew of Filipino musicians or entertainers that were successful from the Phillipines being a nephew of Paraluman, the famous actress from the Phillipines. I didn't know who Jean or June Millington were until I read the Premier Guitar article and saw the videos related to the article. Their music was before my time but I give props to the Millington sisters for writing & playing great music, being a role model, being extremely talented, perservering in an industry that was male dominated & racist, and was one of the few Filipino/American female musicians to reach that level of success in a time when the music industry was still open to younger artists. Thanks June & Jean for keeping me inspired by their music & talent.

I only discovered these ladies about five years ago. My favourite track is "Ain't That Peculiar" . Great to see them still doing it.

They didn't miss it. They made a funk & disco album called Ladies On The Stage" back in 78. This song is from a album they put out in 2001 called Slammin' Babes.

Jean Millington is a awesome bass player. I am surprised that when Fanny split, she wasn't snapped up by some big name artist looking for top notch musicians for their backing band.
maybe she was, and said no? Apparently her sister has written a book about their adventures in the music business, it may be in there (i didn't read it yet).
I'm not sure but didn't David bowie use one of them for a period after they split? I could be confusing it with something else. But fanny was such a bad ass band, when I discovered them a while back I was surprised that they didn't seem to get as much shine as I feel they deserved. One of the tightest bands of that time male or female imo.

It don't get any better than that! And the drummer is crackin' that beat with Jean's bass. They played at Edinboro St college in the early 70's and I opened with my horn band. They were just a great 4 piece lots of vocals band with the sisters fronting who both kick ass. Luv them.
