- This is a video of one of my Kerry Super 8 Drills. It has 4 speeds, plus back gearing giving eight speeds. My grandfather gave me one of these a few years back and i ended up giving it to a friend, but i had another 3! Very well made and very heavy.
Beautiful, I just picked up a Kerry model 100 and will be refurbishing it. Can’t wait
Thanks so much for posting this. I bought one a few months ago and was worried as the change speed control didnt appear to be working. I hadn't realised that the pin had to be moved as well as the knurled knob. That explains a lot! Thanks again.
Kerry,s are superb, I have just broken the quill dive gear, I rebuilt mine about 6 years ago and made a few improvements.
Gettin* it back in working order is a priority, I use it most days I’m in the workshop, so enjoyable to use.
Nice film .good job!
The drill looks great. I used to have exactly the same model. It did some work over the years.....Tony
Nice video, I’ve just bought one of these in similar condition to to yours. This will be very helpful for my renovation. They’re actually surprisingly easy to strip. Thanks for posting
ive just bought the floor standing version.not in so needy a condition but looking forward to restoring it to lovely condition...yours looks great, well done!
That looks like a very nice machine. well done.
I have a pillar and a bench Kerry , they are among my favourites.
I have a full size Kerry 8 speed super and I absolutely love it I was pleased to find you video and I could see how the belt cover is ment to lift as my lifting mechanism has all been removed at some point and the cover just sits on top Iv always want to put it back to original but had no idea what was actually ment to be there
Great work buddy 👍👍
You did well - nice work.
I have a similar Drill - Avon.
I have a floor-mounted model the pillar lock and quill mechanism are missing from mine, it's a great drill and as well-made as all the machines from that era, maybe someone reading this might offer any ideas over the above bits missing.
I would love to know the paint colour and type you used. I am currently rebuilding a Kerry model 100, and cannot find paint colours anywhere online
When I'm home I'll look for the tin.
Can you give me some info on the on/off switch please
HI do you remember the bearing numbers ?
JOLLY GOOD SHOW MATE! PIP-PIP TALLY HO!
that is name of color or code? Thank you.
How old are they?
Late 1940's to the 1970's. The later Mk2 version was very square and angular looking but essentially the same drill
Did not look like correct top bearing in quill. Should be thrust bearing. And motor mount has spring i between body and mount plate
