The fact is Tyson has been retired, and he's been fighting all of his life. So he's not just a regular person's 58 years of age. After all the fights and whatnot, he's actually body wise he's double that age, actually.. Also, if we all started training today to become a boxer, we are not even going to be nearly as good as half of Tyson was just last night, so think about that
True. I mean Ben Askren! A welterweight who just got by on his wrestling. He was a very good wrestler but he couldn’t punch for shit. He had a vicious knockout from Masvidal and got knocked out by Robbie Lawler for a minute. He had a bad hip. Tyron was washed out. And a welterweight. He was a wrestler who had a good right hand. Jake will never fight a real boxer.
Mike Tyson has always been about increasing eyeballs to the sport and he did. All the fighters before the main event got millions of eyeballs and well deserved.
You're 100% wrong on Taylor. You can see the intentional headbutting. And the thing is its a pattern that has been established on other fighters who aren't Southpaw. And I'm not saying Taylor isn't talented. She can throw hands. But Serrano was rocking her and she went to headbutting tactics.
The fact that a nearly 60 year old Mike Tyson agreed to do this just shows that the reason this fight even happened is because Jake Paul got money. And when you got money you can make moves to make yourself look good, have Mike Tyson to be on your resume, win or lose.
The fight with Mario Barrios and Abel Ramos was great! That was a real fight. Barrios got dropped but came back. Mexican boxers don’t quit and they fight like it’s life and death. Plus Barrios is cool. He’s a big Misfits fan and was rocking the Crimson Ghost tattoo.
Okay, but what were people expecting? No way I was going to spend time watching something you knew would be ludicrous. This is Dystopian-level spectacle.
The biting the gloves thing must be a known Tyson trait because ive recently been binge watching Hajime no ippo , its like a 90s boxing anime and they def had a whole episode dedicated to Tyson biting his gloves and Cus which was the first time i ever heard that and then i see him do it last night and started laughing
Mike’s been on this stoic philosophy for a while now. Especially after the death of his daughter. He was one of the richest guys ever, lost it all, and realized the shit comes and goes plus there’s some things money can’t buy

@Milleniumlance Nah BS decisions and fighters not fighting each other till way past their primes is what did boxing in. (With an honorable mention to the behind the scenes politics by the promoters and boxing Organizations/Federations)
This Fight was and always will be A flat out DISGRACE to the sport and I really didn't appreciate how Jake's brother Logan just said "MF I'd kill U" in front of Mike like that, Have some respect for A GD LEGEND! Then Again Logan has always been A horrible person when he SCAMMED everyone involved with Cryptozoo so it's not surprising to see him be so cocky and egotistical. Also, Netflix's Quality was very disappointing, Like how does your service now have A huge event like this and U can't even have the most PERFECT world class servers to let people enjoy this without any flaws. Watch NFL Fans on Twitter complain and moan about Netflix's quality on Christmas. Props to Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano for putting on A REAL Show even though Serrano was probably robbed by the judges. About to watch those highlights. Edit: After watching the Taylor-Serrano bout, Serrano was definitely robbed.
Two thoughts came to mind when I heard Logan saying that. 1. *"Logan.......shut up."* 2. He wouldn't be any better than what his brother went through during the fight. He'd probably do the same thing, trying to make sure he doesn't get hit.
At least wrestling admits it’s scripted. And I’ll tell you another thing if WWE is planning to move one of their shows to Netflix streaming live, they better be prepared for the circumstances that’ll come with it. Especially after what happened last night.
It happened already. Some countries have had the big PLEs(Bad Blood and Crown Jewel)stream on Netflix, like Brazil for me, and it was rough. I only tried watching Bad Blood and couldn't, didn't even try with CJ lol
Unfortunately, there are tons of retired boxers and MMA fighters who got robbed by promoters, business managers, etc. who will gladly lineup and take a fight with Jake Paul for one last big pay day. So, I don’t see this stopping anytime soon. People have been saying it’s a farce but they keep paying attention.🤷🏾♂️
The ending of the Fry Cook Games episode from Spongebob felt more like an actual fight compared to Tyson & Paul. And that ended with the fighters being friends again.
This wasn't sad. Mike came out a winner. He just released a statements and said he had 8 blood transfusions in June, loss 25lbs and was fighting for his life. The guy just made over 20 mills, and probably made good from his merch, and he came in the fight in great shape for his age and he didn't get hurt.
After hearing how he got chewed by Don King, I'm happy for the legend and great that is Tyson. Loved it and loved the respect that was shown for him. $20m up and well done to him. ✨🏆✨
The two fights in the middle made this worth my time. They were amazing, and I’m glad I was in the right circumstances to see those fights. That’s all I can really say about this event.
I couldn't even watch it. Mike Tyson is a 58 yr old boxing icon. I'm glad he didn't get knocked out. I'm impressed that he finished on his feet. But...nah. I couldn't watch. And if your surprised or "proud" JP won, you know nothing about boxing and aging. The fight wasn't a let down. People watched it. That's cool. But it should never have happened. It made a mockery of the sport. Jake Paul, good for him! And he works hard. That's obvious. But fight someone your own age. Fight an up and comer. I get why he does what he does but enoughs a enough. These circus acts where he fights old greats are ridiculous. He's too good to be doing this. But I get it....money! But it's kind of a shame. Bro said he didn't know boxers wore a cup😂😂😂
I think it was a money making publicity stunt, plain and simple. Considering where I live, it went off around 1 AM. Netflix milked that publicity stunt for all it was worth.
This is like Bobby Riggs vs Billie Jean King. In case you aren't familiar, there was an internationally televised match in 1973 held at the Houston Astrodome between 55-year-old Bobby Riggs and 29-year-old Billie Jean King, which King won in three sets. The match was viewed by an estimated fifty million people in the United States and ninety million worldwide.
What was funny about the strap thing that made me laugh. I was upstairs late where I live, the guy I rent from, his name is Tim. When he saw that, he said out loud, that is TMI for TIM. lol
To be fair to Tyson and Paul, I think Tyson's leg was hurt which limited his mobility (along with his age limiting his mobility), and it seems like he was a bit afraid of being knocked out, so he never opened up much. Paul seemed like he was making an effort but just wasn't fast/strong enough to do much damage. I don't think either of them "threw" the fight - though Tyson definitely should've thrown more punches in general. I'm now wondering if the clips we saw of Tyson training actually *were* sped up, because we didn't see any of that speed in this fight. At least we can rest assured that Tyson was the biggest draw that Paul could get. Anyone Paul fights after this won't be as exciting as Tyson, so I don't think many people are gonna bother to see it - meaning we won't have to keep hearing about it.
I think most people were hoping that Tyson would knock out Paul early and we could all celebrate Tyson for still being great, and we could denigrate Paul for being a narcissistic, untalented piece of shit. I think that's why most people were watching - there would've probably only been like a million viewers if it weren't for this hopeful idea that Paul would get his ass beat. But we realized in the third round that that wasn't going to happen. Paul still got a lot of boos at the end, and people were still cheering for Tyson throughout the fight. Luckily Paul's next fight can't possibly get the same amount of hype no matter who the opponent is, so we won't be bombarded by the same amount of fanfare and stuff after this. He'll probably never try to face a legit fighter who's his age (unless he gets a bigger ego after some more wins and decides to try it), so he's just gonna try to get someone with a big name who's either retired or not a pro fighter, and I just don't think there's anyone in that category who's as exciting as Tyson - unless Paul's able to get someone like Tom Cruise or something. Shit, now that I say it, that would be kinda fun to see... or maybe The Rock - but I don't want to keep seeing The Rock everywhere.
Thanks guys I wanted to say this is probably the best post match podcast out there, I fell for the hype Netflix put all those training videos of Tyson looking amazing, come fight night I felt like I was watching my dad getting robbed in the street by young gangsters and that was my money! 😂thanks from the UK I’ve liked and subscribed👍
I can't believe people actually thought that Mike would be the same. Not only is he physically older, he is mentally and personally less aggressive and more mature. It is is obvious that Jake Paul took it easy on him on purpose. C'mon, it was just 8 rounds. What did people expect? I blame the fans and the audiences. Also, there were other fights. If you were really a fan of boxing, you wouldn't complain because of one bad fight.
@@michaelstrong5383 I don't like Jake Paul either, but I'm not delusional. Jake Paul had no chance against Tyson 20 years ago, maybe even 15, but now it is different.
1st off Paul is 27 years old. Tyson is 58 years old. 31 years difference. Even working out as you age everything weakens. Skin sags. I was excited to see he went the distance. I watched the first 2 matches. And I watched the 2 of them come into the ring. But after seeing them together, I felt some kinda way about the whole thing. I started watching something else. I understand why Tyson did it. But for the life of me I don't understand why Paul did it. What's so tough about boxing with a 57 year old man. Toughest man on the planet or not. I know they're both getting their bag, but that wasn't the emphasis from the perspective given. I didn't know the outcome until today. The Taylor Serrano match was the best match of the evening. Serrano is tough! She just kept going. The 1 st match was even a little entertaining. You see I said "entertaining".😆 Oh yeah, I think something was decided before hand. I think Tyson under-performed a bit.

It was not a great night for boxing, except for the two amazing female fighters Amanda Serrano and Katie Taylor. Now that was a great fight. Paul fighting Tyson for me did not legitimize him as a boxer, and now he wanting to fight Connor McGregor, yea nope.
Mike impressed me. 58-year-olds don't usually compete at that level. Plus he had an injured knee. He didn't want to use it as an excuse. I'm glad that he is proud of his performance. Mike has heart.
I feel more offended that Katie Taylor vs Amanda Serrano were considered the “Undercard” on this night. Like in Madison Square Garden, they should have been the main event. All due respect to Mike Tyson, but him and Logan Paul were never going to show up even if they tried.
I legit said this, those women fought their asses off. That was the best match of the night.

The outcome of that women's match is also why people hate boxing now. It's no fun when you can clearly see the wrong person won because of the judges. Happens too often in boxing
That's what soured everyone on that fight, in spite of the raw brutal nature of that fight. That split decision really pissed a ton of people off.
@@theprowler18 Nah bro, wanna get even madder? Taylor won by unanimous decision. Absolute BS.

When did boxing ever die?
@@sadetwizelve the 2000s Rise of the UFC and MMA in General after the Gracie’s in the 90s brought BJJ

I didn’t care at all about the fight because I knew it was a dumb money grab, but my boyfriend watched the “fight” and he hated it! F Netflix, Mike Tyson, Jake Paul, and everyone else who trolled us into watching such gaboose.
What were you expecting from a 58 year old and a TH-camr? You trolled yourself Einstein.
The fact is Tyson has been retired, and he's been fighting all of his life. So he's not just a regular person's 58 years of age. After all the fights and whatnot, he's actually body wise he's double that age, actually..
Also, if we all started training today to become a boxer, we are not even going to be nearly as good as half of Tyson was just last night, so think about that
I believe Tyson wasnt going 100%. Something just seemed off. Im sure the truth will reveal itself
He made his boxing career off fighting Retirees and Senior Citizens 😂😂
He can't beat anybody his age. That's a fact. Not an opinion from me.
Isn’t Mike Tyson the only old guy he has fought?
Never a fan of boxing but I'm having more fun watching people trashing about this rather than watching the actual fight
at least youre honest about it
I'm not into boxing either, and even I thought the fight was lame.
Mike Tyson has always been about increasing eyeballs to the sport and he did. All the fighters before the main event got millions of eyeballs and well deserved.
Can’t wait to watch the next fight with Jake Paul and Joe Biden
And Bill Clinton as Bidens back up 😂😂😂😂
That was his son tht interviewed him yall ..he clearly addressed him as son
You're 100% wrong on Taylor. You can see the intentional headbutting. And the thing is its a pattern that has been established on other fighters who aren't Southpaw. And I'm not saying Taylor isn't talented. She can throw hands. But Serrano was rocking her and she went to headbutting tactics.
5:26 Corey you look great for 53 btw.
I thought he was in his late 30s early 40s
Fighting an old man who always died on June isn’t gonna give u credit that’s some bullshit
The fact that a nearly 60 year old Mike Tyson agreed to do this just shows that the reason this fight even happened is because Jake Paul got money. And when you got money you can make moves to make yourself look good, have Mike Tyson to be on your resume, win or lose.
Awful

The ass bit was a humiliation ritual, they embarrassed this legend and just used him as a prop.
Yeah.. lets hope thats the last of it. I could tell Mike wasnt happy the moment he walked out. Like "lets get this sht over with"
The fight with Mario Barrios and Abel Ramos was great! That was a real fight. Barrios got dropped but came back. Mexican boxers don’t quit and they fight like it’s life and death.
Plus Barrios is cool. He’s a big Misfits fan and was rocking the Crimson Ghost tattoo.
Hey Korey and Julian! The guy that interviewed Tyson is his son. And yes, that’s just a normal jock strap 😂

This anime is absolutely top-tier
Mike’s been on this stoic philosophy for a while now. Especially after the death of his daughter. He was one of the richest guys ever, lost it all, and realized the shit comes and goes plus there’s some things money can’t buy

Shallow fights .. is what killed boxing as a sport in the first place.
1. *"Logan.......shut up."*
2. He wouldn't be any better than what his brother went through during the fight. He'd probably do the same thing, trying to make sure he doesn't get hit.
Serrano was brutally robbed.
It was Tyson who disrespected himself by being in there with those losers allowing that clown to talk down to him.
They been done that recently
Unfortunately, there are tons of retired boxers and MMA fighters who got robbed by promoters, business managers, etc. who will gladly lineup and take a fight with Jake Paul for one last big pay day. So, I don’t see this stopping anytime soon. People have been saying it’s a farce but they keep paying attention.🤷🏾♂️

Crazy how a movie about robots boxing(REAL STEEL) seem more realistic than whatever was going on between Mike Tyson & Jake Paul
Korey looks good for over 50, I thought he was in his 40s; This fight was just as I predicted.
Thank you for saying this!

Not kind of a shame. A DAMN Shame
He didn't beat Tyson, he beat a 58 year old man.

It’s still Tyson man my Mike lost fear Square
44:50 I wonder what someone said to make Korey stop kissing Jake Paul's ass in under five seconds.
I knowwww I’ve been going through the comments trying to figure out but damn no one said anything

Humiliation ritual, anyone?
As someone who grew up with the legend that was Mike, I didn't appreciate seeing this display, can't call it a fight.
HES 60!!!!! How could any of y’all take this seriously😂😂😂
It's the groin protector every boxer wears them.

No
before I even started watching the fight I knew there wasn't going to be any knockouts it looks like they staged it that way too
Is it a tragedy for boxing? No. Disgrace to the sport, a little especially if the rumors are true that it’s scripted/rigged
Yes it does age you. Most contact sports age much quicker.
They wanted to see Jake Paul being taken down a peg. I'm in the same boat as they are. However, I know that Tyson isn't at his prime anymore.
It was fake.

It was not a great night for boxing, except for the two amazing female fighters Amanda Serrano and Katie Taylor. Now that was a great fight. Paul fighting Tyson for me did not legitimize him as a boxer, and now he wanting to fight Connor McGregor, yea nope.
I was really invested during the women's fight, which is more than I can say for the actual fight.
@ correct is right!
They at least called it the co-main event. 🤷
how are you the main event when everyone was there to see tyson vs paul? do you understand how boxing works?
Jake Paul ain't a boxer, he's a "sports entertainer".
