      i think it might have been japanning, its pretty resistent to paint stripper.

    Great restoration and attention to detail. sanding all those smaller parts took up a lot of your time but were necessary. I always watch the whole video .

    That is such a useful tool, IK some guys mark the center on a bar of steel to where the edge is with something similar, it's usually a exacto blade though on a homemade body.

    another quality video geezer, but for the best results with your scriber,paint the surface to be scribed using engineers blue, atvb Andy

    Strange, you had trouble taking the paint off the stand (first time😊). Is it because it’s lead paint, or should it make no difference? Nice job BTW.

      I think it was japanning. Definitely wasn’t lead paint I always check before I restore

      @@DiesInEveryFilm Came to my mind also that it was this japan stuff...Hand Tool Rescue used it once, I think...mixed wit tar and baked in the oven...this stuff isn´t meant to come off again...

    I don't think the stylist is meant to do the marking. Most likely it just so you get the same spot which you can then Mark. Otherwise it would be very much worn down.

      Its a scribe its meant for marking and the whole sharp part is harder than steel meaning it scratches the steel and doesn’t wear down

    When sanding a flat surface, it is usually best to use a figure "8" pattern. It helps keep pressure even.

    What paint stripper are you use ? I see lot of restoration video. There are 2 difference. 1. Most people will not use that much. 2. The paint will be removed by toothbrush after 1 hr
