@xlifexwithxlithiumx exactly, not sure why it's such a bad thing to ask. Since time blindness is a real thing. She reacted like that because she was being berated for asking a question she could have gotten a easy no to, maybe with explanation. A lot of places WILL accommodate or be understanding of conditions and she has a right to ask, as does every neurodivergent person.
@@xlifexwithxlithiumx I hope you all also know that being on the other end of someone being late is very irritating and people’s time is valuable, you know what the issue is, you can be responsible for it
As a person with ADHD, I can relate the hardship in time management... but blaming others and the society for her problem is 🤦 I think its good that she knows she have ADHD, there are a lot of tips for people like us on the internet. It is easier to find a way to keep track of time than changing the concept of time.
I have so many alarms, and calendar reminders. I have an alarm that goes off every night to remind me to check my calendar so that I can keep track of what's happening the next day. I have to put any upcoming event into my calendar as soon as I learn about it. She should learn how to work with herself instead of making excuses.
Time blindness gets me hard, even with reminders, so this is a solution I worked out for myself and have asked people around me to use if they wanna do meet up: I either consider it urgent as hecc OR people tell me the wrong time intentionally, like "Be there at 5" when the meet up is supposed to happen at 5:30 - 6, that way it's all covered. If I have a bad phase, I also save appointments that way too, set them earlier than they actually are, so I don't miss them. I still struggle with regular things that suddenly are off schedule though. But you gotta find solutions that work for you and not just keep putting it off. I was able to hold all of my jobs despite ADHD.
She says "you are very lucky I'm not insecure" yet this kind of overreaction to criticism is one of the most obvious tells that somebody is insecure/ has low self esteem
I literally do exactly this to myself, it does work most of the time, at least for random/irregular appointments anyways. I have to randomly vary how much lead-time I add, basically to “hide” the real time from myself else I’ll still run late. Occasionally I’m pretty early, but it’s rare and I’m usually right-on. I don’t mind the wait when I am, tbh I figure it’s karma for all the waiting I’ve caused others.
I love how she’s so insanely delusional to the point where she takes popular topics/terms without knowing what they mean and just runs with them. Insane.
I'm pretty sure she does know what it means, she has ADHD and is bad with time management. and tbf to her, some workplaces/universities rlly do have accommodations(not the building, as in, set things up to help certain people) for people with ADHD and other mental health disorders and it's a good thing to do.
I knew someone like that.. “the movie is at 5pm! Be on time!” When the movie is at 8pm bc they won’t even take their shower until 5:30. I literally have dreams where I’m late and I’m freaking out…in a dream!
That’s a great example of going out your way to give her accommodations. She’s disabled and needs that help and relies on others around her to care about her struggle. She’ll do the same for others I’m sure.
Ayy seems like you are used to his old videos 😂 , he doesn't do it anymore 😅 and I don't know why? (maybe he doesn't like doing "seemingly childish thing *according to him*") somebody on insta mentioned this so...maybe he wants to make more mature kind of videos now...ig

@@itsumemario044 definitely!! i think they meant as a stand alone mental disorder..? like it’s something anyone can struggle with but it can be worse for us neurodivergents but we all gotta manage it
Maybe tmi but when I was 13, I was diagnosed with ADHD and Bipolar disorder II, and what my doctor told me that day has always stuck with me: "You didn't ask to have this. It's not your fault you have this; however, now that you know you do, it's your responsibility to manage it. You cannot use it as an excuse." 16 years later, I have a PhD and am a college professor who still struggles with the above mentioned, but I've never let it hold me back. Set multiple alarms. Set alarms in different parts of your room if you have to. Create a daily schedule for yourself that you carry around and mark stuff off as you go. See a doctor for medicine if necessary. You might have to work a little harder than other people, but that's how it is. I'm a professor who's very understanding of students' mental health, but would not tolerate someone being repeatedly late because of time-blindness. Especially if I'M there on time!
yes! i commented on someone else’s post but the goal of therapy is usually how to manage symptoms of mental illness to become a functioning member of society. meaning WE who have the mental illness are the ones who need to work hard to accommodate ourselves rather than society accommodating us and letting us just let our mental illnesses be which is what i feel like a lot of this toxic mental illness “support” culture is nowadays. especially like the everything i see w bpd (a disorder i’ve been diagnosed with along with bipolar type 1) it’s like all the posts are kind of excusing the toxic and harmful behavior that those of us with bpd might partake in rather than explaining why it might happen and how to try to make sure it doesn’t happen again and show how important it is to APOLOGIZE for your wrongdoings instead of just playing the victim.
I'm so glad your able to manage it, congratulations, it can't have been easy. And you make an excellent point, people should never let their conditions hold them back if they can help it.
JESUS loves you! Come to Him to experience indescribable peace, and the infinite love He has for you! Although it's very real with ADHD I'm not sure what kind of 'accommodations' someone could expect to receive. I think that if this is such a prevalent issue for her the best idea is to apply for a job that is flexible and you can do from home. This isn't the same thing but I'm disabled and part of my disability makes me sleep around 13-15 hours everyday, and it got to the point where physical school isn't an option anymore, even though I loved my school. So now I do online school. It sucks but I think there are ways to get around it, even if you can't get it the way you expected/would like it to be.
there's no excuse to be sleeping that much, you're just lazy, i bet you have no trouble waking up for your favorite show disclaimer, this is a satirical comment and not a reflection of my personal views
I'm so grateful that I didn't have tiktok and all these social media platforms growing up. TH-cam was just coming out when I was a sophomore in high school, but I didn't even know about it. as a psychology student, it physically hurts me when I hear people making up random psychological disorders or speaking like they know anything about them.
yup i have a bachelors in psych. i want more people to understand and empathize w people with mental illness but i feel like this new generation goes too far and makes every little thing a “mental illness” that needs to be “accommodated” when in reality the goal for most therapy when dealing with mental illnesses is teaching the people how to become an active member of society versus what everyone else thinks that society needs to bend backwards to make life easier for them. sorry but unfortunately us with mental illnesses have to work harder than those who don’t have mental illnesses. is it shitty? yeah but that’s just the way it is.
@@ashegrey3042 right?!?! I'm like nooooo living with an MI actually sucks. It’s not fake lol it’s part of the disorder. But yea we have to find ways to adjust. I have to use google maps because I will show up late if I don’t. 8 to me means you have until 8 to be there. But in actuality I need to leave by 7-7:30 to be there lol. It’s weird but yea.

I have ADHD and I am a college student who has to do everything on her own, and yes it is very hard to be always on track and take care of everything from being to class on time, to doing my laundry, to not missing deadlines, etc, but the world doesn't revolve around anyone, and it is literally our own responsibility to do things according to the system. And to be fair anyone can be late, don't make it a massive political issue lmao

i have ADHD diagnosed since i was 12 and i’m almost never late if i have something planned at 6 i’ll start getting ready at 4:30 because it’s all i can think about and i know myself and how i usually take longer to get ready then a average person
accommodations for being time blind (part of ADHD actually) AREN'T letting people not be on time. Accommodations for that are like "Can I have a personal digital clock at my desk so I can keep track better, that way I can't accidentally overlook those little numbers on my computer," or, "Is it okay if I set alarms on my phone in the office? That way I can have a little warning to get ready for a meeting." Another one: "Hey, I struggle with time management, can we do weekly check-ins on long-term projects so that I can pace myself well?" I don't think this girl was explaining herself very well, but time blindness is a real thing neurodivergent people deal with and there are VERY reasonable accommodations which exist and can help people succeed at getting things in or getting places on time.
Right, I think the point here is that the accommodations this person is requesting are unreasonable and don't take other people into account. I don't think it's unreasonable to request accommodations as long as it's something that helps You remain accountable for yourself.
thank you for the genuine comment. so many people who have qualms with her are just straw manning the concept entirely but you've made great points. thank you
I struggle with ADD and I am "obsessed" with reminders. I don't want to be late but I get distracted easily, I forget what I need to take with me when I leave the house so I never plan to leave 5 minutes before the agreed time. My colleagues think I'm weird for being 10 to 30 minutes early but I can't seem to find time to explain and not using my alarms for that 😅 as I'm already exhausted from reminding myself what to do and what to take and forcing my brain to remember where I put everything eventhough I'm organized
I've taught art for years. The worst client I've ever had was "time blind", as they said. They would set up appointments and not even show up, then call me hours later and expect me to drop everything to give them a lesson even when I was helping other clients 😆 So I told them they're "block blind" because they wasted my time and I have a life too! I've struggled with chronic insomnia and bipolar depression for years, so I've had my fair share of troubles getting to appointments on time, but I worked on myself so I can present in my own life. Choosing to chalk up laziness to a fake undiagnosable phenomenon is selfish, and not only that, it's self-destructive
I feel you! I have ADHD and own a business, and if I have a client that has a pattern of not showing up on time or at all, it feels like a disrespect for my time and life, and I will fire them as a client. That's what this girl really doesn't get. Yes, time blindness is a thing, but having respect for other peoples time is what can provide the needed responsibility to be on time, or at least try your best to be!
i hear you, but it's not a "fake undiagnosable phenomenon". literally a passage in the vid is read in the beginning and your google is the same as ours. not saying it should an excuse cause everyone can experience it and there's idk alarms you can set or ways to trick your brain. just saying don't spread misinfo.
She must be craving that sweet, sweet clout. Just like the crazy trend hoppers with people wanting to have Split Personality Disorder. Oh, they will definitely do more insane stuff.
I mean I haven't even watched the video yet but I'm kinda scared to because time blindness IS a thing, it's a literal symptom of ADHD and as a teenager I would cry so hard at least once every few days because I'd miss something so important to me. I was almost fired from a job I LOVED because of this when I was 16 and it was so painful and difficult to deal with. Maybe the girl in this video doesn't have it or something, but time blindness very much is real and a very difficult thing to deal with.
@@montetheartist medication, and certain accommodations with work and uni where its possible, for example setting timers or listening to playlists that run for a specific amount of time. my brain can't actually comprehend how much time passes without those things.
So her boss and coworkers will have to somehow manage around her time blindness, just like every around her in her daily life. The only one who will not try to manage their own issue is this girl. She will just make it everyone else’s problem to deal with. What a joy she must be to have around. As an employee, as a friend…. ❤
for reeaal it's cray she doesn't think she's the entitled one when she's the one wasting a friend's time because they are waiting for her to show up or causing a higher workload on coworkers until she finally shows up
She is a child. 🤦♀️ People learn how to manage themselves _over time,_ most people have different issues they make other people’s problems, like emotional immaturity, sleeping around and hurting themselves and others by using and allowing themselves to be used for meaningless pleasure, selfishly allowing slavery to continue existing by being complicit to it through their choices, requiring the deaths of animals for their appetites, overusing resources and producing waste, or infidelity that destroys an entire family, etc.
yeah but if someone wanted infidelity accommodations I'd still find it ridiculous lol. clearly they're self-aware enough to know they have an issue they're struggling with like emotional immaturity, infidelity, or being late, but they'd rather other people accommodate instead of working on improving their self-management of it lol
I have mental health issues and probably adhd but I never expect the world to revole around me. Yes there is help out there and you can give your school/boss a brief summary of your conditions. But they aren't there to protect you and accommodate to you! You have to help yourself and make accommodations for yourself.
I have ADHD and I always leave my house an hour in advance to go anywhere. I have a hard time estimating how long something will take so just to avoid being late, I’ll rather get there early! It’s all about taking responsibility here.
Oh dude i relate so bad to this i used to leave for work like 2 hours early and eventually i got into the habit of calculating how long it took me to cycle... 20 mins!!! I started leaving half an hour before which made me a lot more anxious but honestly i had way more free time and its calmed me down in the long run learning that mechanism for figuring things out
As a person with ADHD who also struggles with "time blindness", it's not something you can control, but it's something you need to learn to live with. Your symptoms are not other people's responsibilities.

Felt those STACKED alarms😂 I’ve had ADHD since childhood and have had issues with time blindness but made it work with planners and keeping tabs on everything. When it came to my first real job I made sure to start getting ready for a shift an hour before and then leave 30 minutes before my shift started even thought it was only 4-5 minutes away. In school it’s still REALLY helpful to get deadline extensions and more time for tests, but it’s important to try and make it work BEFORE turning to use accommodations
I had an interview for a uni that I wanted to go to over an hour away from the town I live in. It was at 8:30 and with the trains and trams I had to take, it would take about two hours-ish to get there. I am almost terrified of being late and since I had never taken the route before, I had my dad come along to keep me sane. We got there 15 minutes early and waited in the foyer. When the interviewer came out, the first thing he said was "wow, your early, most people are usually a little late. Do you live nearby?" When I explained how far we actually live, I could see him light up, I made an exemplary first impression and he suggested I apply for a scholarship. I got accepted for the scholarship. Moral of the story, leave as early as you need to be on time, it will make a difference in the kind of respect you receive.
The way Rebel said GOT EEMMM to the time girl he basically was like : bestie get an alarm clock 😅 - everyone with ADHD said : 😢😂 I'm always on time girl watcha mean?- me 😂😂
I have ADHD and I just wanted to say timeblindness is a very real thing and is not just “being lazy” it’s a real struggle for many people ,but I get what he was saying and I think it would definitely make more sense for her to get a more flexible scheduled job rather then getting mad at companies who want stuff done on time. (Btw timeblindness is actually just another word for poor time management skills or lack of being able to keep track of time)
tiktok is 90% of the reason why people view gen z as an entitled & soft generation. considering how you can find most gen z like this person for example *mainly* on tiktok.
Also the fact that she’s privileged enough to go to a trader school just for her to be like if they don’t have these accommodations then I’m not going. Damn
I have severe diagnosed adhd. I am aware my problem isn’t to be solved by everyone else, anyone who thinks that everyone needs to be accomodating is absolutely entitled.
This is hilarious! I used to be perpetually late, which stemmed from insomnia and anxiety. However, once I hit my late 30's I got my ish together. I haven't been late to work, late from break, late from lunch, etc. Do I like rigid schedules?? Absolutely not! But I don't expect others to consider me hitting the snooze button a disability lmao!
I used to struggle a lot with time management and "time blindness" (still do sometimes), & received an ADHD diagnosis & started medication for it a few years ago. Since then, I've tried a lot of different tips/tricks, found what worked for me, and am now doing a lot better with it! The biggest one for me has been opening Google maps when I start getting ready, and starting the directions so that it'll give me a live ETA to wherever I need to be. It may feel silly, but small things like this have made a WORLD of difference for me. I think the important thing is that people who struggle with this realize that it's not a moral failure, it's just how your brain works! But this doesn't mean you're excluded from expectations, it just means you have to work that much harder! It sucks, but it's reality. 🙃
1:19 girlllll I'd say literally set alarms for like hours earlier if need be like alarms come on and get there earlier I set alarms for medication and if I need to get to a doctors appointment or something then I even set one for liek 45 minutes before hand (I live literally 5-15 mins away depending if there's a train or not that cuts through my town)
Because I’m currently in school, my job has accommodations to where I can come in whenever I can as long as I’m getting the work they need me to get done ON TIME. This is no problem for me because I often ask questions if I forget something or if I feel like I’m doing something wrong and I’m able to get my work done thoroughly and correctly without any hassles.
GIRL 😂 we have BIGGER issues in the working field, like wage slavery, and the majority of people living paycheck to paycheck, time blindness is literally not even on the list of issues we need to fix here
Tbh she is half right, who the hell made our day start so early when everyone hates it, nobody likes getting up early in the morning and 9-5 and school times are so stupid. Its still each person's responsibility to get on time people really shouldnt have to accommodate. There should probably be 5 minute wiggle room, for example the job starts at 8:30 but the wiggle room starts at 8:35
@@jameia4137 no what I mean is the day actually starts at 8:35 but you can be in by 8:30 and get away with it. If you're in any later than 8:30 you're late and if you come in past 8:35 you're alright but try to be earlier if you can. It also defends the company or place you work at because they are accommodating for ADHD since they do legally have to accommodate for ADHD and even if this doesn't come into the category of things they have to do they could get in trouble if she has a good lawyer Sorry if my explaining is a bit rubbish, I can rephrase it if it helps
Is that not already the case? At least where I love, the school clocks ring at 8:10 but everyone needs to be in class before 8:15 because à 8:15 the teacher comes in and starts the class, so the time to be in is 8:10 but you have 5 minutes to get to class. And even tho they didn't have it, why don't you make the wiggle room yourself? If you know that work starts at 8:35, why don't you tell yourself you need to be there at 8:30? I'm a college student, from home to school it doesn't take long, but I need to take the train, if I want to be "right on time" I'll be there at 10:15/10:20 when class starts at 10:15 thanks to the train and bus, but I struggle with the idea of being "right on time", makes me anxious and being five minutes late makes me cry. So I always take a train earlier, even if that means being at school at 9:20 and having to wait an entire hour. I don't like it, but what do I have to do? Sue the train because it makes me be late? The bus? The school? We all have to create our own way to deal with time. It's not easy for anyone and if you need wiggle room, create your own wiggle room so you can feel comfortable.

This chick is missing something very important in her life. An honest straight forward friend. There are people in her life that knows how ridiculous she is and doesn't tell her because they are chicken shit. This person needs anyone in her real life that calls her out and pushes back against these poor understanding of the real world and how it works out here .
she does. it's her mom. who do you think she was talking about in the og tiktok? that's makes it obvious enough that not only is her mom her "friend", but that's the only person who can't walk out her life or be kicked out and she still doesn't listen to them.
I DO agree with the part of schools could assist more with students who are struggling in school. I had to be homeschooled because my high school said, "We've done everything we can. We can't help her anymore." Basically. My school dropped me-
I do have mental illness like mild depression and anxiety but I will never make it an excuse for being late or forget things. If this 'time blindness' making it's hard for you, try to set your alarm or find solution or go for help. Bcs in reality, if you're working in the company, it's just an excuse. Unless you're self-employed, then you're complete in control of your time.

Maybe tmi but when I was 13, I was diagnosed with ADHD and Bipolar disorder II, and what my doctor told me that day has always stuck with me: "You didn't ask to have this. It's not your fault you have this; however, now that you know you do, it's your responsibility to manage it. You cannot use it as an excuse."
16 years later, I have a PhD and am a college professor who still struggles with the above mentioned, but I've never let it hold me back.

It sucks but I think there are ways to get around it, even if you can't get it the way you expected/would like it to be.

yup i have a bachelors in psych. i want more people to understand and empathize w people with mental illness but i feel like this new generation goes too far and makes every little thing a “mental illness” that needs to be “accommodated” when in reality the goal for most therapy when dealing with mental illnesses is teaching the people how to become an active member of society versus what everyone else thinks that society needs to bend backwards to make life easier for them. sorry but unfortunately us with mental illnesses have to work harder than those who don’t have mental illnesses. is it shitty? yeah but that’s just the way it is.

accommodations for being time blind (part of ADHD actually) AREN'T letting people not be on time.
I don't think it's unreasonable to request accommodations as long as it's something that helps You remain accountable for yourself.
thank you for the genuine comment. so many people who have qualms with her are just straw manning the concept entirely but you've made great points. thank you
I just realised that Rebal's "girl voice" sounds like Mickey mouse 10:33 😂
It’s actually a really good Mickey Mouse impression 😂😂
I bet that she becomes "time aware" when her favorite show is on.
@@artbyjem5020same I'm kinda discouraged to watch the video

20 mins!!! I’ve had ADHD since childhood and have had issues with time blindness but made it work with planners and keeping tabs on everything.
20:50 the fact that I actually did stay
I had an interview for a uni that I wanted to go to over an hour away from the town I live in. It was at 8:30 and with the trains and trams I had to take, it would take about two hours-ish to get there.
I am almost terrified of being late and since I had never taken the route before, I had my dad come along to keep me sane. We got there 15 minutes early and waited in the foyer. When the interviewer came out, the first thing he said was "wow, your early, most people are usually a little late. Do you live nearby?"
When I explained how far we actually live, I could see him light up, I made an exemplary first impression and he suggested I apply for a scholarship. I got accepted for the scholarship.
Moral of the story, leave as early as you need to be on time, it will make a difference in the kind of respect you receive.

He never fails to make us laugh literally he saved my life without knowing

There should probably be 5 minute wiggle room, for example the job starts at 8:30 but the wiggle room starts at 8:35
no bc then if you get that 5 min wiggle time then that will be your time then you will want more time ..
@@jameia4137 no what I mean is the day actually starts at 8:35 but you can be in by 8:30 and get away with it. If you're in any later than 8:30 you're late and if you come in past 8:35 you're alright but try to be earlier if you can. It also defends the company or place you work at because they are accommodating for ADHD since they do legally have to accommodate for ADHD and even if this doesn't come into the category of things they have to do they could get in trouble if she has a good lawyer
Sorry if my explaining is a bit rubbish, I can rephrase it if it helps
@@BigOversIzeT01L3T yeah rephrase please bc how does the day starts at 8:35 but if you come in past 8:30 you’re late ?
