Right! As someone who's heavily tattooed I never went into debt for my art. I had the money to get tattoos. Bills paid, no debt, I have a respectable career etc. You have to be smart about these choices and imo she made poor financial investments before being able to genuinely afford it.
Imagine paying thousands of dollars to permenently exclude yourself from being welcome almost anywhere. It's hard enough to get a job, maintain responsibilities and take the steps necessary to create a successful life - WHY create your own obstacle course instead?

The owner isn’t entitled to bend their company values and image just to please ONE person. That thinking is very egocentric. The older customers, ehhh not so much. But my coworkers and supervisors always had my back when it came to how I looked. I was there for 2 years, made some great friends and overall showed how work ethic has literally nothing to do with appearance.

I wouldn't say that. Tattoos are just self expression. I have tattoos and a few ear piercings. I don't have any tattoos on my face or neck tho. I know those tattoo placements are tricky when it comes to applying to some jobs. But I still wouldn't say it's a waste of money. It's her money after all. Even jobs with stricter policies have offered me a position if i was willing to compromise and dye my hair a "natural color" and/or wear clear retainers in my piercing holes. All this to say, yes it sucks that people still care about that in some professions, but if you are personable and have a good attitude, a lot of places will work with you a little. She is not getting hired because she is insufferable. And walking in and DEMANDING they explain why they didnt hire you? I didn't apply for my job.. I was long term unemployed and my job centre work coach put me forward. Didn't even get an interview. They were desperate because nobody applied for the job lol 7 months later I'm still there and it's a stressful job but it's changed my life. I'm getting great work experience, and my wages got me out of debt. Plus I had no friends before. All my colleagues are fab, and some of them I socialise with outside work. Made some great friends

@@rogue_carlisle6167 the thing is, these days, the requirement to get a job is how clean your social media is. It's so that the employers know you're doing anything shady or inappropriate. So, sadly yes, her social media is her employer's business. We're literally told in school all the time not to post weird or shady stuff cause social media presence is checked by companies. That's why people get fired from jobs if they lost hateful rhetorics online or repost harmful opinions

If it’s your business, YOU get to decide what image and message you want to send, nobody else. If that bothers you, find somewhere else!! As Rebal said, I actually know places in my area when she is exactly the woman they are looking for! You find a place that aligns with who you are, but you don’t through a hissy fit and cry discrimination because you weren’t hired to a job, you continue your job search. That is the experience for MOST people, she is not special for not being hired to a job. And yes, what you privately can actually impact the company. You guys need to live a little more before you air your opinions and you’d understand this. Nevertheless, a company has the right not to hire you if they don’t want to.
I doubt that at the end of the day tattoos are seen as unprofessional and especially when you are working with customers face to face her tattoos can very much be seen as offensive to certain people so they would probably not want to risk customer complaints

I didn't apply for my job.. I was long term unemployed and my job centre work coach put me forward. Didn't even get an interview. They were desperate because nobody applied for the job lol 7 months later I'm still there and it's a stressful job but it's changed my life. I'm getting great work experience, and my wages got me out of debt. Plus I had no friends before. All my colleagues are fab, and some of them I socialise with outside work. Made some great friends

I mean, I worked as coordinator housekeeping in few really fancy hotels. I have a lot of tattoes on my hands, chest and legs. Half of my hair is blue and they treat me like every other preson, any problems with my look. Sometimes its not really about such things, if you are nice person ready to work ^^'

I am almost 25. I have had coloured hair for almost half my life from pink to purple to blue to orange to fire truck red to yellow to green. I am realistic that places won't hire me based on that, and that was why I worked at places like Walmart and coffee shops because those were more common places one can get a job for the time being at least. I work from home I'm a call center and was hired with indigo hair.
Her opinions are very contradictory and accusatory. I have friend who have plenty of tattoos and piercings, but they have positive attitudes and social media. Especially in interviews, first impressions are EVERYTHING
i honestly understand her frustration. it’s stupid that certain companies still cater to those who don’t like alternative looking people. i also understand that that’s just the way things are though. there will always be people who pass judgement based off of someone’s appearance and certain jobs just want to attract as many people as possible by eliminating that as a potential problem. i love facial piercings myself and i have multiple that i had to take out when applying to a nicer company i just got hired at. it’s annoying to have to do that & not feel fully myself while being there but it’s just the way things are, unfortunately.
