- Turning Old COWS Into CASH!
We are working to clean up our herd and cattle operation and have some older cows that need to go. Let's see if we can turn them into cash.
And yes, we do watch Just A Few Acres Farm

Just took three old cows (17 years old ea.) to the sale barn. They were still producing nice calves, but it was time for them to go while the prices are up!
Your Wife is one hard working Woman. She is the kind of Woman you need on a farm. She don’t shy away from her share of the work. My Late Grandmother told me she enjoyed working and was always doing something. She just likes to be busy all the time. After She passed they found checks her Brothers had written to her and she never cashed. Maybe she just didn’t want to put her Brothers in a bind!
Great setup and agree completely with just taking your time and working the cattle. If you’re in a rush or nervous, the cattle sense that and won’t do what you want them to do. Leave the hoot’n and holler’n to the folks at Yellowstone!
The respect and love shown for your livestock is awesome!
GREAT video! Always enjoy watching 🙌
Thanks!!
Interesting video and conversation, Thank you for sharing
I've never farmed. I really enjoy this channel.
Glad you got to come through the neighborhood. We are going to cross paths one day soon I hope. Blessings
Miracle! I see ya over here!
@@StoneyRidgeFarmer oh my gosh you crack me up! Yeah we're going to invade your place too.
Good looking cows lol, too good to go to town in this country
Great. Thank you.
@@roryclarkrorykiernanp.clar9065 thanks for watching!!
Could you share a detailed drawing of the corral you are using in the video?
You guys are coming along great! God Bless❤
Next time you are in Turnersburg, come on out to Harmony for a visit!
looks like Rubin was 2 steps ahead of you. 😂😂
Enjoyed the video! Do you guys have a video on your handling system? A schematic would be fantastic too but bigger shouldn’t be choosers lol
I agree with you that it is wise to focus the herd to the needs you have and not mess with mamas.
I was unsubscribed from your videos. Glad to have y'all back. The thing I love about this channel is y'all keep it about the animals. Thanks!!!
Sounds like a good model to me. I always say there're many ways to do things you just have to find what works for you
Great video thanks for sharing my friend
I'm glad you trust your livestock barn. There is one near me that I'll never sell at again.
Thanks for the info guys!!
Great Video!!! Thank you. Subscribed!
god bless chuck and Kasandra (Whistle Britches ) great knowledge 🙏🙏
Those 3 Angus cows being only 5 years old have a lot of good years left. You got a good price for them.
It’s better to stick with what you like doing in buying & raising feeders. It’s much less financial risk, time commitment, work & risk of bodily injury than running a cow/calf/bull operation.
Hi Chuck and Saundra
Have you tried taking cows like that to Brown Packing in Gaffney S.C.
My friend just took 3 18 months old and brought $5000 plus!!!
5k for 3 steers
Great video keep it up
@@MmmmKjhg-y2b thanks for watching.
Thanks for sharing, sir! 🙏🏻💪🙏🏻
Dang made that look easy!
Chuck you could easily host American Idol, AGT, Survivor or any of those shows that drag out announcing the winner "and the bachelor is... coming after this commercial break."
I love how you tease the numbers and then go "but first some housecleaning..." OK, so I saw them sell and they went for - wait, I forgot to mention..." "now I don't remember the order they went but - let me remind you we bought these girls ..."
You are the master, sir!
Yikes on that trailer hook
I’d like to see more about the process of selling the meat retail..”how you do it”
What were their weights? How much per lb did you get? Thanks.
how do people use these old cows after buying them? If they're too old to process, I'm not sure how others are using them.
Usually hamburger. A few choice cuts can be delicious. The really old gummers . Soup and dog food .
" people eating tasty animals " 😂😂😂😂
I understand you didn’t bring those older cows to the processor because of their age. But I’ve seen videos and heard of people saying that old cows have some of the best beef there is.
What happened to JW? It’s been a while since we’ve saw or heard anything about him? Thanks for the video.
The first thing you said was a lie. I go to many livestock stockyards and every single one use hot shots lol 😂
You need to tell people why you cross your safety chains on your trailers I didn't know it for years I pulled boat trailers travel trailers and you still come straight up but you cross your chains because if your trailer ever comes off your ball it falls into the cross and doesn't dig into the ground😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
Keep up the good work. Our cattle dog can do all the work, if we let them. Maybe it's my bad eye sight or my pc screen but looks to me like your trailer floor could stand a piece of plywood just inside the back gate. Ever seen feet/legs after animal falls through - omgoodness! heartbreaking! Hope that was just me seeing things - bet it is because we know you take good care of your stuff. Thanks for sharing! Looking forward to watching new cattle and the great outcome you'll have. Hi, Saundra!
Chuck where did JW go?
What was the average weight of the cows?
It is never that easy 😅
I thought you would take that old dairy cow to the sale. She could be burger I guess.
They should have went back to the farm, especially if bred
unless there was something wrong with the cows they would produce for 20 years. They didn't look that old
He doesn't want to reproduce. That's the point. He's looking to be the grower, not the reproducer. Fatten up, butcher, cash in, repeat.
Why don't you sell those two dairy cows?
When you yell at the dog it is way too loud. And when you yell for the truck to stop when backing up to the trailer.
I was subscribed to you guys and you tube unsubscribed me, but I'm back.
If you let them dog what they was breed for you wouldn't have to do as much and I'm running about 200 head
was about to say...its a freaking cattle dog and doing exactly what it should
I have to resubscribe almost on every video, or my likes do not register.
Just looked and was unsubscribed
I have personally seen the auction staff mistreat animals, so I know it happens. Now I'm not saying that's the case at all auctions but quite a few I've been in, they do.
Please brother, I follow you on TH-cam and Instagram. Help me find a work contract on a farm. May God bless you.🇲🇦🇺🇸🇲🇦🙏🙏
