in 1982 after the reopening, I was one of the first to tour the revamped hotel.

To anyone wearing high heels on the escalator in lobby area, my heel wedged itself and I couldn’t get it. Luckily, I freed my foot before we hit the bottom. Had I had a shoe with an above ankle strap or a boot, I suspect a negative outcome. Just beware of this using the hotel.
