When that big chunk came off the sole at around 4:00 I was thinking here comes the claret and horror show, but thankfully the rest of the sole below the damaged portion was solid, I was surprised at what was underneath, especially as the toe was so long.
She has definitely dodged a curve ball there, it could have been much worse for her, good work.
Kind of interesting, when Cinderella tried out her new slipper on the off-side front and it didn't make contact when she expected it to and she did that little forward moon walk manuover for a few steps.

Imagine walking and standing all day in shoes that are too small, until your feet are raw. And then a man comes and gives you new shoes that fit, and have a nice foam soles so its like walking on pillows. This is how these cows feel :)

Truthfully I don't know anything about cow's at all and the closest I get to one is when I buy a gallon of milk at the grocery store. Lol. Funny you mentioned that cuz the whole time I was like omg look at that huge crack up the middle how will he ever trim away enough to get to clean...and then **FWEEP** it was all gone
Imagine if that crack split on in the farm though, it would of made the inner claw awkward to move on

Kieran Jackson wouldn’t call it a crack myself. That was false sole separating and coming off! Used to dealing with it while trimming horses. Always had one or 2 that would retain some of the hardest soles possible! Took lots of persuasion to get it to pop off like that but when it did it was like magic!

You could tell she was struggling after the trim. She was so used to the longer front hooves. Poor girl. I'm glad you were able to make her feel better.

I grew up in Wisconsin farm country. You’ve shed new light on farming for me. Never realized cows had hooves trimmed. My boyfriend explained it.
Your technique in trimming is slightly different than the US.

She got it at the door of an after hours party. We’re concerned that she’s becoming a bad influence on the other cows!
