      I think Francis's idea of "casual" is "I'm not gonna bother with optimal play and just do whatever tickles my fancy."
      Like cramming a nuclear reactor into a rocket isn't exactly optimal play. It's expensive, it's overly complicated, it carries a lot of unnecessary risks, it's not what you'll do if you're concerned with optimal, hard-core play.
      In that sense, what Francis is doing is casual. Just a very advanced level of casual play.

    I seem to remember, once upon a time, that FJ started this run with narcoleptics. Seems that by about cycle 700, they forget they are actually narcoleptic, who knew? I honestly was not expecting this, I felt sure that you would have given up by now, totally fed up of nothing ever getting done, perhaps the answer to narcoleptic dupes is.... lots of them, so at least one of them will be awake any time you need something done on a proprity 9. :)

    • @DarthVella
      @DarthVella ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Having lots of dupes would definitely help, but there's more than that. There's a lot of base design/game method tweaks that make narcoleptic dupes more tolerable - opening a floor in the sauna for the dupes carrying debris so they don't have an 1800+C nap in the middle of your liquid locks is certainly one. If Murphy's Law is "anything that can go wrong, will go wrong", then Francis's Corollary is "anything that cannot go wrong, will not go wrong."

    Was wondering if you could continue to use pipes to melt the diamond, if you reduce the flow to 10% so the pipes won't break?

    • @grandfremdling3841
      @grandfremdling3841 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the 1kg is only if the liquid inside is out of rang, but the pipe itself would get way to hot and melt.

    so since we have all these ways of making way too much power to consume, do you have anything in mind you'd like to see added to endgame as a powerhungry building? it becomes a bit boring to me when it's so easy to overproduce nearly anything in the game

  • @FerrybigGaming
    @FerrybigGaming ปีที่แล้ว

    28:49 You need 10 steam turbines, since you also need to account for the heat generation of the aquatuner in the nuclear reactor room

  • @rogerfar
    @rogerfar ปีที่แล้ว

    If you starve the reactor by only feeding it small amount of uranium at the time, it doesn't produce as much heat, so you can get away with less turbines.

    Francis....you are walking into my old path, putting petroleum generator and slickster into the heat brick is a bad idea. Carbon dioxide and steam doesn't mix well. And, the is a small chance that polluted oxygen might be generated from the polluted water and cog up the steam engine.....I learn it the hard way.

      It can't off gas if the pressure is kept about two kilos which it's at about 20

    • @williamlai29
      @williamlai29 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@coletonbelcher that is under the impression that gas pressure is constant... but the little dripping of liquid will land on the floor and when p water meet up with small pocket of carbon dioxide...viola! Magic! A small pocket of p Oxi appear.

    13:27 OMG BAD IDEA Francis, if you melt all the steel you would not have access to the electric socket and other things. Those socket needs to be build on the steel walls.

    Liquid Uranium... I've never actually given a shot at.
    Now I want to find a use for it, one that isn't this.

      As long as you keep it away from oxygen, it cannot burn and given sufficient heat it will melt.

    You can melt the exit ports and just dump waste into space opens up planning options a bit... And you could do a shine bug reactor instead if you wanted to be silly.

      Shine bugs for light?!? That is already part of the TARDIS nature of melted rockets. And for rads, shine bugs are outclassed by nuclear waste (if you embrace infinite liquid storage).
