I bought a 1999 Isuzu NPR diesel thru a dealer from Arizona State University. The dealer drove it back here to Las Cruces, NM. The original miles it had when I bought it was 46K miles. It’s a 12 ft. flat bed, boxes, racks, small 3200 lb 16 ft crane. Has all my tools and my miller big blue 300 on it. Runs so smooth.
excellent truck, great turning angle, very easy to handle thanks to the automatic transmission I have a 2005 NPR 5.2 diesel, I love going down a mountain with the exhaust brake
I’m looking at one of these for a tiny portable home right now. I’m almost 22, I spent the last year in my first apartment, I learned some things. I know if I can get my license (behind on that, got a permit) and really put my mind to saving money I know I can do this. My credit is great but I made bad financial decisions, lol. It’s okay I learned everything I need to learn. Also, it would be so cool. Pop the back door open for a nice view anywhere. Put solar panels on the roof when I’m parked until I own the vehicle. Then I’ll be allowed to do modifications and installations. Forget the trailer or buying actual camper vans for now. I looked at some of those bro. Seen houses that cost less than that. I’m excited for this though:) What’s important though is to tie or bolt everything down and also Velcro is your friend. Please pray for me. I’ve never wanted to do something so much in my entire life and I finally feel alive again pushing for this.
I've been looking into something similar, I know this is an old comment so I'm not sure how useful this information will be for you, but from what I have personally seen insulation is your friend
I remembered helping my dad's friend with finding an Isuzu NPR box truck that was a gas, that was an 18 foot or more, and that was at least a 2015 or newer or somewhere close to that year range and to be honest, it was NOT that easy because there weren't many trucks that were pretty much what he was looking for and it took me 3 months and this month, he already got some trucks that he was looking for.
Hi. I bought one of the NPRs (2003 NPR HD) to set up with a utility body for a handyman business. I'm just wondering if you still have the NPR and what you think of it, any problems. Thanks.
I just got my '97 on the road. I wasn't expecting a speed demon but 55mph on level ground is about all shell do. I'm worried once I put a heavy load on it it won't maintain highway speed. How has your experience been so far with yours? I have the diesel version like you
It will definitely go over 55, loaded or unloaded it's about the same. You do however hold it to the floor until you hit your speed! Might want to check the air and fuel filters to make sure they're good.
@@slow_restoration yah I got it up to 63 on the highway the other day but that was stretching it lol Cold starts are pretty tough on mine too. I'll try a new set of glow plugs and see if that fixes it. One thing I will say... Mine has a 12 foot box instead of a 16 and it's one of the most maneuverable vehicles I have ever driven! The turning radius is incredible
My daily was a 97 that the company I worked for provided to me and I was aloud to use it off the clock as long as I paid for my own diesel and every other maintenance it went through, it was decent empty but an absolute hog when I put anything in the back I was appliance installer and it was a 14 footer so if I was to put 10 to 12 appliances in the back my parts plus my tool boxes and ice chest I could be crusin and then if a hill came up the 55 mph I was going dropped to like 41mph maxed out. 🤣 And 55 mph was the fastest it ever went on the free way 😆 like I said ..... Absolute HOG but so freaking reliable it's sad the new carb compliant laws in Cali made it obsolete my company ran it since 97 when it was brand new and it was put out of service by the state of California in 2019
Im looking to get a 1999 model to do the similar to haul my tools, my air compressor, welder and convert it to 4x4 and tow my travel trailer becoming my daily driver myself.
I would like to be in the USA and buy an NPR because I need one here in Guatemala but here, although they are used, they are very expensive. but I know that I will buy a new one, I trust. greetings friends!
Those Isuzu trucks are so user friendly. Hey Danny I know of 2007 escalades for sale with super low miles near me in Vermont. Let me know if you want more info on them.
Just bought my 5th isuzu, this one is a2012 npr 5.2 auto .I have owned 3 frr trucks for boat hauling. I love them, easy to work on. I downsized to npr because is came up near by and the 4 cylinder 5.2 has 215 hp.i like the truck and the gearing is great to make up for the smaller engine. BUT! It has all the pollution stuff on it and scares the hell out me
I bought a 2005 today and drove it from Florida back to Virginia. I pushed it to the limit at 80mph and she handled like a champ!

I drove one of those for FedEx once. I did not know I would like it so much. It's so 90s. I loved it.
They're simple trucks that run forever!
ya them things whistle and hiss when warming up, they have the idle up knob on the dash that will help on the cold days
Be a nice daily! Definitely nice with the lift gate! Save the back lol!
For sure!
I think that Isuzu has earned a good dash cleaning.
That too!

Mpg in the auto diesel should be 15-20 according to some of the overlanding folks.
I’m currently looking at one and upgrading the brakes and axels
I had a little Isuzu truck and I loved it. They no longer make them in the states
Sweet hauling rig for sure
My dream car right now lol. I so tried of lumbering pickup trucks and am looking for something with more utility for lawn care.
Sounds weird to say, but I know what you mean!
I have one in Chicago for sale.
@@omarv9067 how much for the npr

People love to pull out in front of big trucks cause they stop so quickly 😂😂😂.
He literally passed me to turn!
I drive Isuzu trucks as daily drivers sinds 2000. Isuzu truck runs smoother the more you drive it.

Wipers in my 2001 do the same thing when on low.
You said how you don't like FedEx, and guess what ad I got 2 seconds after that statement! 🤣
UPS? LOL

Thanks for the offer, I have too many now. Unless it's dirt cheap! LOL
@@slow_restoration What do you consider as dirt cheap? 1 has 31000 miles and the other 1 has 39000 miles.
I drove a refer version of that in the city of Philadelphia, dependable but slow 🐌
Definitely not fast, but not really the point in a box truck.
I understand you love that truck cause I love it to and its not even mine yet lol.
How do you like it now? How many miles? Looking to buy one like it
What ever came of that check Trans light mine dose that exact thing?
It's still doing the same thing. Still running though.
Looking to purchase for moving company. Would you recommend
Yes, they're good trucks.
Great trucks for work, not comfort.
Could I hire you to rebuild an NPR?
So noones going to mention the horse and carriage??
Amish buggy
Whats the mpg on these npr?
Never really calculated it, I would guess 8-10
My 2012 npr diesel auto a little hyway and mostly around town just got 10.6mpg

Could I pay you to restore one of these?
Sorry, no time. Thanks for watching!
Can anyone tell what mpg can do a truck like this ?
Thanks
If it’s gas and not diesel you’ll get 10-15 mpg
You didn't show nothing of the box nor the inside of the Isuzu this video was just as boring as CNN
There's more videos on all that.
@@slow_restoration I rather watch something boring on CNN
Well go watch CNN and shut up.
