Meeting My Family For The First Time In St. Lucia

My Lucian mother died two years ago, and I was never given the room to grieve her loss. So for my 45th birthday, my daughter surprised me with a trip to my motherland, breaking the news only the night before our flight! After coming here once, I knew I had to be on a mission to find my mother's roots, so we returned in July, and thank God, we found a connection.

Even though this beautiful woman that we met is not family, she was like family to my mother, so that's a start. I finally was able to start having some kind of closure, but the journey doesn't stop here...
