A fantastic effort by Choice TV.
Let me flesh out some bits.
    1. The bust of the Marquis de Castries is set, ironically in the George V Park, then the King of England. Its original location was in Constitution Park.
    2. Castries Library is never mentioned. It is a Carnegie Library built in 1924 which means that in 2024 it was 100 years old. If you stand by Johnsons Hardware and look up you can still see the original name.
    3. The section of Castries between Brazil St and the Castries River survived the Castries Fire. Therefore, the Saint Lucia Development Bank and the rest are not housed in the original buildings. What has happened over the decades is that new buildings have been erected in the colonial style.
    4. In 2024 I turned 60 years old and Jn Baptiste Street already existed. I grew up knowing Jn Baptiste Street. Located there was Crick’s Funeral Home, the Blind Welfare Association and a Lumber Yard. Recent it is not.
All kudos to Choice TV on an excellent effort!

What an educational presentation Hats off to you both.
But the former Supermarket on the corner of Chisel and Micoud St. was Elwin Marcellin's, and not Philip Marcellin

Thank you for this fascinating and informative presentation. You didn’t tell us the origin of Jn. Baptiste Street though. I’m thinking, perhaps it was named after Jean Baptiste Bideau?
I grew up on Chisel St. and always had doubts about it being named after the tool. I guess it’s still a mystery. 😂
Also, will you kindly consider the origin of the names of our 10 districts? That should make an even more interesting story.😊

Very good!! I just wished that you had spoken to some old folks who would have reminded you of Nato book stores, next to the cathedral, and on Maryann Street, old Modern Funeral home, in the exact spot of the senior RC school on Brazil Street, Odlums shop and the crusader newspaper(St.Louis street), Normal photographer( first communion pictures) etc. And where does bridge street start, as well as Manoel street. I forgot, old Williams Bakery, the old ice factory etc. Please do this again!! I enjoyed and I'm sure others did, but take us back a little further. Thank you
