On iMovie you literally get whatever background you want, then you just grab you clip, and drag it on top of your background, and go to the display of your movie and theres a option to green screen/blue screen and there you go. Done.

One thing that needs to be pointed out, that not enough people actually mention, is that the screen DOES NOT need to be green! Most chroma key filters will allow you to color match any color on the spectrum! For instance, I use a magenta screen because it is the one color which does not match or even closely match any clothing I own ;)
not many instructional videos can say they've made me laugh out loud but this one can! Great job on keeping this interesting and light!

How do I adjust the setting on the chroma key on final cut pro 2017? It's much different. I know how to do the basic one but the extra setting don't show up.

This guy shows us more than how to do green screen.. he reminds us with his wit and humor with clever chroma key software post production.. that your mind is the key ... and the weaker your mind the harder you have to work... to some... like Sam here... it comes naturally... me... I have had my green screen up for months.. and I'm still thinking.. what the hell am I going to do with it... If you don't have an idea that your are passionate about... that puts you into a zone... you just spin your wheels with constant indecision... I'm about to throw in the towel... but if you want a good green screen, I discovered a paint.. Sparking Apple by Behr Paint.. at Home Depot for about $20. If you don't have a smooth wall.. put drywall up.. put at least 3 coats ... good luck...
Found this while looking for tips for greenscreening at school...this is perfect. Setting up the green screen equipment at school drives me crazy!! Can you come McGuyver it up at my school??

ShotCut and OBS studio are both free and can do Chroma Key stuff. OBS can do it live while streaming/recording, ShotCut is like a free Final Cut for post production/after.

Hi Debra! Yes, _warm_ just means the more yellow'ee ones. Though I use cooler (or whiter) ones now, the yellow lights will match the work light better if you're using this set up :)

any recommendations on how many yards of fabric to get? I know it would really depend on the size of the wall but a ballpark estimate would be cool.
Sparkling Apple Paint by Behr Paint works great if your wall is smooth ... if not, tack up a couple sheets of drywall.. Put at least three coats... a gallon sells for about $20 at Home ..Depot..

Earlier in the school year, we were tasked with making an informational video on Cyclones, and how to prepare for them. And our teacher said green screen would help a lot. And they showed THIS video to help us out. It was extremely helpful.
