That's cool! I went there on a choir/ukulele ensemble back in high school. I got to play on the surrender deck on the USS Missouri. Wont ever forget that
So I guess it is fair to say Garrett would much rather see the sea by submarine v. scuba diving even with little head room . We have never been able to get there to see all this great stuff. Thanks so very much for letting us come with you. Greatly appreciated. Looks like time well spent. You can hear how exciting Garrett is about this. Looked like an excellent weather day too. Thanks for your time.
We went there the summer before 6th grade many years ago!! I don’t remember if we saw all of it? Was really neat! Garret and submarines don’t mix! I’m glad you had a nice time there! You’re a trooper Alyssa!
I burst out laughing and had to show my ex submariner husband the short joke there at the beginning. We are both 5'8" and when I wear heels I give him crap for being short. He gave me a look. 🤣😂🤣😂 He was also stationed at pearl harbor for just over 3 years.
Wow, thanks for sharing this special experience. Hawaii has never been high on my list. The Pearl Harbour museum might be a reason to visit and I am not even a history buff like Garrett. 😅
We did the Arizona and really enjoyed it. We got our reservations as soon as the window opened. I’m glad we only did that part, but on another trip I would like to see the submarine and Missouri👍🏼 we both loved Aulani ❤️
Thank you for showing so much of your tour and the tips you shared! We are going to the Aulani in February we can’t wait. But we are planning a Pearl Harbor day our 8 year old is very into planes and battleships. Hoping for a shorter day there I don’t know if the kids could make it through everything.
In 2007 I went to visit a friend who's husband was stationed there. He took me on base and I didn't see the Arizona but there was a dock with, I believe it was the 'Utah' flipped. I had goosebumps and it was super emotional. I imagine being over the Arizona felt similar.
This was really interesting I had no idea how many museums there were. Alyssa you’re a trooper for doing all that while pregnant! I can’t wait to see the character dining vlog!
My father was in the Navy and served in the Pacific during WWII. He was the gunner and navigator on the plane on an aircraft carrier. My brother was in the Army in the early 70s and was stationed in Honolulu, so my parents went to visit him. Daddy joined right after Pearl Harbor, he was under age and his mother had to sign for him. They went to the USS Arizona and he cried just because it brought back so many memories of the war.
my dad was in pacific ww2 also he was the crew chief of engine room by age 20. When he went to Pearl as a port, he told me what he would see would haunt him for the rest of his life Guess whos going to pearl in 2 months--me--and ill stand where my dad did 80 years ago
we're not as lucky to have a stairwell--we still have to use the escape hatch to enter of leave our COD--after falling down it several times, u kinda get the hang of it😜🤪🤕
Filming this did you guys feel like you were back teaching online? LOL So interesting. I took my kids to the titanic exhibit in Orlando in Feb was so interesting getting up close in person to history.
We're going to Pearl Harbor in October. I'm 6'2" and am wondering if I should even bother with the Bowfin. People were much shorter back then. I don't wanna get stuck, bang my head on steel, or just realize I can't see all there is to see in the sub.
actually, submariners were not short🤣--they came in all shapes and sizes😁--i work on the USS COD in cleveland im a tour guide and the Bowfin is the same as our COD-a Gato class sub
Thanks for showing us...may those men from the Arizona rest in peace, and thank you to all of our military for their service.
Thank you for sharing your experience. We will be coming in December 2024 to Pearl Harbor for the whole day. Mahalo.
I would be geeking out too, it is okay Garrett!

When Alyssa says, “It’s fine. It’s fine.” You know it’s NOT fine. 😂❤
Great Vlog about Pearl Harbor Guys really enjoyed it and God Bless Our Troops that gave their lives so that we have the freedoms we have today 🇺🇸😊

Garrett is 6’3” and had no problem going down into it! He did have to duck through doorways but other than that was ok
Did Melissa go shopping in waikiki next day.😂

Are they still telling you that you can’t take pictures or film when you cross the bridge over to the mighty mo?
Do they have anything for people with hearing aids that can use Bluetooth but cannot use things over their ears or in their ears?
I can’t recall anything but I would believe that they have some audio accessibility options.
Can we buy passport to pearl harbor walk in?
are they calling it a cannon? Its actually a deck gun
Is the difference between a deck gun and cannon how the projectile is fired?
