Wow. Man this is some.good shit! Hey I'm just gonna chuck this out there. I dont have the camera to do this but you do. You know where big snapper live right! Ever thought about doing a whole flick on big fish on a handline. Big snaps , big kings from land if you can cast where you need to and from kayak? I reckon it'd be a huge success. Plus epic feeling, feeling the fish fighting through your hands as you can read them way better. I have some mean carbon rods etc , but my handline usually out fishes the $500+ set ups. Bought a handline from save barn. Stripped the nylon off and replaced with some heavy duty string stuff so my hands dont get burnt. I just cant get enough of catching fish this way. My kayak buddies think it's a majic line blessed from the gods🤣🤣🤙
Have thought about it. But not since I broke my thumb lol. They almost did a handline subcomp for that Moocher hunter competition. Your rig sounds like primo fun. Certainly on the radar for future...
@@DarkmoonAngler yea bro its heaps of fun . Just something about old school I cant really explain. Something activates in you like when your spearing flounder as opposed to setting a net. But you know, everyone's got a better story. Legend has it some dude pulled up the whole north island on a hand line....
wonder why people when asked dont want o give out where theayre fishing like they own the place and we all live in Auckland and someone has already fished that part one time or another hahaha...anyways love the videos and how you give tips to help out other ancholars....never know i might save someone elses life...chur bro....
Good reel them finnors:) all I rin is a 7500 with 40pound of the rocks on a rocky 2. 8ft6 rod 10-15kg. And a 9500 with 160 metres of line and a daiawa 8ft e glass 30kg rod the reels also have 27kg of dtag plenty for big snap and gud kings
Was my first time there bro. Spots I chose were based on where I could get to. Didn't get to where I'd like to have been due to conditions. Don't know the local hot spots, keen to get back there over winter and learn though....... that whole area looks like mega snapper potential.
Lol. Thats not such a silly idea. Tried a similar idea in my mega snapper video. Big hike on video through the bush to get to spot X when actually I was practically fishing off the side of the road.....
no complaints. very heavy, but I like the solid feel to it. very well priced for a reel that can handle our larger inshore fish and robust enough for NZ rock fishing terrain.
I'm enjoying all the fishing content! Cheers for sharing
