    Awesome to see what went on prior to the shakedown! Pleasantly surprised to meet you at BFR and see PhD in action on the track!

      Sadly, Normies don't care for this kind of technical information.

    I was looking for such parts to change my camber at the LCA instead of adding adj top mounts. Also was looking for a Roll Center correction. You guys are lifesavers

    Still one of my go to videos for installing SPL parts on G8x. SPL now uses their tapered stud on the tie rod ends instead of the bolt. Also, I found marking the tie-rod thread position is not helpful - at least on a G82 RWD - as the length is very different. In this case, the tie-rod ends needed to be threaded at least another 1/4" past where the OEM unit was to get same front toe. Perhaps it varies among G87/G82/G80 RWD/AWD variants. Not a big deal, just be aware before driving to alignment shop with an inch of toe-out. Also, the G82 I did had the rear arm to subframe bolts in the more convenient direction and did not have to drop the subframe or move the swaybar.

    As a car painter I would recommend taking off the rear subframe completely & paint or wax the bottom panels before assembling.

    I don’t know if anything can be done to make the M2 look any better, but the car definitely punches above its weight.

    Does final torque need to be done with the car on the ground to prevent any binding of the arms or is that unnecessary?

    • @michaeldarges
      @michaeldarges ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not necessary for any spherical joint.

    Yes it improves structural integrity but not move more air. The slots are much smaller thus it would be more difficult for air to go through at high rotational speed.

    Hey Jackie I know this video is about the M2 but I have a question about the Supra. How does the chassis mount swan neck attach to the car. I can’t find anywhere in your videos where you show it. Thanks!

    I just can't get over the soft brake feel on these cars. You have 3-4 inches of mush. Not a huge deal on track, but huge on autocross.

    180 ft/lbs for every nylock at the knuckle? Wow, that's a lot of torque.

    Makes me wonder if these "mods" are an actual upgrade or not. with the millions of dollars and thousands of hours of r&d the engineers spend and test the parts, hire the best drivers in the world to test the cars on the best tracks and come up with designs for a reason, for some dude with a cnc in his shop to make a part and slap it on is WILD lol i am not hating, just saying every change has a counter effect on performance. ALL of them. going to the extreme on things takes away from other dynamics. i'd love to see this work out though!

      Anyone who knows anything about suspension knows you have no idea what you’re talking about. Replacing rubber bushings with spherical will make a noticeable improvement to handling. BMW chooses not to because of the increase in nvh, and they don’t last as long.

      It’s all about compromises. OEM designs usually tries to cover as wide of a user base as possible. Aftermarket companies usually only highly focus on one specific aspect to improve with the products, since it’s incredibly difficult to beat OEM on all fronts. In this case, the mods are solely focused on stiffness, and adjustment ranges, so NVH will definitely worsen. It’s all about focus on the things matters to the exact user.
