It's actually a good thing, when you like a band a lot and have been with them from the start, you get antsy waiting for new releases. When you're a new fan you have their whole discography to binge on like a good TV series or game. Silver lining.
My dog of 10 years died today after a few days of pain from a crash which he couldn't recover. I've come across this song and its literally encapsulated every good / bad and I cried. these guys are something . thank you so much LOATHE.
It's amazing how big they went from here. When i heard this EP for the first time it did nothing for me, but then The Cold Sun and now I Let It In, shows a natural metamorphosis of the band.
Seriously, the best band I've ever heard. Beautiful melodies, wonderful chord progressions, some insane headbanging riffs, great screaming/singing and lyrics, perfect melancholic atmosphere. What more can you ask for? I might be biased and fanboying the fuck out of you guys, but I really feel like one can't top this shit. I'm grateful that I'm alive to hear these tunes.
Discovered these guys with their album ILIIAITE. But holy shit their early stuff is so cool ! The chorus vocals remind me a lot of ERRA's Jesse Cash vocals, did not know that their guitarist could reach these high notes !
"sheol" in korean means the place souls go while they're waiting for judgement. i don't know if that was intentional, but it really fits the theme here!
The lyrics here are so powerful they can actually stand alone from the overarching Loathe storyline. I was made a fan by The Cold Sun, but Prepare Consume Proceed is fantastic too, can’t wait to see them live and hear what they have coming.
Words can’t explain how fucking amazing this song really is. Ngl I kinda wish Loathe would make more songs similar to this. Don’t get me wrong, they are still so good and loathe is my all time favorite band but I really wish they would make more like this.
i'm pretty sure they are weird about their old music. like a we're-the-new-loathe-not-the-old-loathe kinda situation. which is kinda lame. pretty sure their label is responsible for rebranding them though
Nothing really scares me, but after watching this video I had to turn around to see if someone was behind me. Very well done, the music is intense, it matches the imagery! I am frightened and excited at the same time!
This band has both an visual and sonic aesthetic that can't be touched! Where did these guys even come from?? They're unstoppable! Keep up the great sounds boys! Love the atmosphere in all of your tracks (especially the interlude bits) :)
cray! I first heard the song "Is it Really You?" few months ago, one of the most beautiful songs I eva heard. Now this older work, intense, not what I expected. Dug it though, some crazy great arranging, playing and artistry.
@@grindcorey imo sounds nothing like Deftones. Their newer stuff you can make an argument for it for sure, but lol, this is way heavier than anything Deftones. Specifically the riff you're referring to
@@RthereNEusernames Well, everyone's got an opinion. Try listening to Bloody Cape. I'm not saying the riff is Deftones I'm saying it's a definite *style* of their influence. Jeez.
@@grindcorey you specifically said the riff so that's why I nitpicked at it. Why you acting like I'm attacking you for saying it sounds like Deftones lmao. What does it's a definite style of their influence mean?
Is this song about witnessing someone pass away from Cancer or Alzheimer Disease? I deeply relate to the lyrics of this track and I think it's crushingly heavy! Love the down-tuned guitars, the riffs are intense and full of venom and the vocal delivery is perfect! Great stuff!
Deep had no idea this song was about that. You can really hear the pain in the music though. Thanks for leaving this comment. I am interviewing them soon and doing research.
OurLucidDream You're an idiot. I'm a bio-chemical researcher for a major pharmaceutical company. I have a doctorate in biological chemistry. When you hippy morons go around spouting that bullshit, it's essentially saying that my colleagues and I don't know our jobs. And, I work hard every day of my fucking life to try and make the world a better place. To prevent people from losing loved ones to horrible diseases like cancer. How are you helping humanity? Because, spouting that idiotic misinformation is hurting the progress that I strive for every god damned day. You're probably an anti-vaxxer, too. Please, either inform yourself with actual facts or keep your nonsense to yourself. And, don't procreate. I don't want your unvaccinated plague-rat fucking kids anywhere near mine.
If we take in account the previous song lead-in title (Sheol) it could be the story of a Christian losing a loved one and knowing where they will spend eternity in the next life (Sheol being the current hell in Christian philosophy, the future hell being The lake of fire)
Just saw them live opening up for wage war and wow. I can’t believe I’ve never heard of them before. This is a bad that is sooo much better live and the scary thing is that there already amazing lol
I know this was two years ago, but I'm sure you've noticed the emergence of many bands in this style now. Not a ton but like 5 or 6. Some are even produced by the guy from this band that does their production.
once you listen to the whole album, you realize they made the vocals under-powered for a reason. the music sets the emotion so much, that if it was heavily weighted towards vocals it wouldn't have had the same impact.
if you like this, go listen to the color clear from Reflections. Sounds like they got a lot of inspiration from them, but still manage to have a unique style. Great song.
The way they look in Two-way Mirror makes me think they had to be put into witness protection because of events in this video.
😂😂😂😂
the thing i hate is to discover a great band years after they released great songs ....
same
Yep. But better late than never.
Right there with you brother. This band is so underrated. Their groove and heaviness is unmatched

Silent Hill, the band.
lol soo true
YES I seriously want there to be a silent hill band TBH xD
Me too that be pretty amazing having all the characters jamming out LOL
If you haven't heard of Nemertines, I would suggest you do. In my opinion, Nemertines is more Silent Hill than Loathe.
Thank you, I just listened to them and fell in love instantly.

You might wanna give a try to "Currents" :)

What a steal! Excellent choice for this label at its humble beginnings. This is brutal!! I hope they don't fail!
@@Feelstoramusic you know...
They are doing pretty good still
@@Feelstoramusic u should go listen to the new one ;)
New album is next level. The band has a very bright future ahead.
4 years later and they're bigger than ever putting out an album this Sunday

Same man, I agree
SharpTone knew what they were doing, look at where they are now! Loathe as one!
Clean vocal section is catchy as fuck, love the whole song. Great steal for the label
The worst part is that life goes on
No last goodbyes to the ones we love
Condemned to always be alone
I'm falling into this hole.

Most unique metal band ive seen in a while
That guitarist can sing. 👍🏻
Yep
I want that first 50 seconds on a loop. Sounds like the soundtrack to an 80s movie. So sick.
Matthew Hogan You do know it's a single track, right? If you wanna listen to just that part, just listen to Sheol. But I agree, it's super cool.
Boy do I have some news for you
you got it!
@@BlindGuyRiffs lmfao
its a single song called Sheol

I agree completely.
Maybe next album will be a mixture of this with the new sound they've done. That's what I am hoping
Same
Yeah, they did go in a more hardcore direction with ILIIAITE
Saw LOATHE support Oceans Ate Alaska in Birmingham a few weeks ago. Very good band! Will deffo be keeping up with them.
Yeah I seen them in Cardiff the day after, Fucking Sick!
Are they good live?
Yeah they are very good live
If they come close I'll have to see them.
I was there too! They were mental!
wow just wow. breathing fresh air into a stagnant genre
If you ever get the honour of seeing this band live......i highly recommend it!
my time has come. theyre going on tour with underoath this year cant wait
This aged well
Kadeems vocals are some of the best in the game
but Eriks fucking cleans are so good
True
Damn they were good but they've come a long way. So much more unique now. Even when they sound like Deftones
I really fuck with this band, never heard anything like it. 57k views! you guys deserve the love! keep it up
I have no clue why the guys dont ever play this song live, its so fucking good
Agreed, this would slap live and fit well with the new stuff

That "Fuck" at the end really kicked hard for me to conclude the entire song, it's the perfect song about my dad
Thank you so much, Loathe, for existing
2:50 idk why this hits so hard, and so close to home... just me?
specifically 3:03
This is the absolute best thing to come out of the heavy scene in a loooonng time. Mixes everything I love. Very Deftones. Can't stop listening!
@Midlife the massively heavy riffs before the end breakdown outro. Right after he gets done singing.

I know this band is from the UK, but is that Zakary Gibson (ex Sworn In) on guitar? Just seems so similar in playing style and image.

I LOATHE IT
where the fuck is Loathe now.
Killer tunes
thise riffs 😍😍
*Amazing*
*randy marsh voice* YEAHHHH!! >.
this is so good.
I think the vocals need to be quite a bit louder. The instruments way overpower them. Other than that, it's really fucking good. 👌🏾

Leora Ojadi Definitely seems like it :)
Damn Erik be there much skinny than now)))0 Now this is big riff killing machine >:]
