Ending this album with this song feels really sad. Because it comes after the beautiful ending of "A Sad Cartoon", where I imagine the protagonist finally made some progress dealing with their insecurity and depression. Only to go back to square one, as they let it in and *it* took everything. The way "Gored" comes abruptly after "Is It Really You?" also conveys the same feeling. "Is It Really You?" was so beautiful and it was suddenly cut by "Gored", a song about helplessness. As if the protagonist was never allowed to catch a break. Not the first album that I've heard to have a bad ending, but this one is quite special.
That breakdown at 2:43! Those soul crushing lows and ominous keys. It makes me feel like I'm drifting out into space in a dead ship, watching silent explosions bloom in the dark abyss as I drift slowly into silence and am forgotten
3:39 this part literally almost made me fall asleep driving to work this morning. Not because it's boring, but because I was so entranced. The vocals, the drum groove, amazing stuff
what a closer. leave it loathe to incorporate all the elements they used during the record and pour them into one cohesive track that represents everything they're about.
@@jacobhiers well yeah after several octillion listens i got that too, but it hits so hard the first time you just want it to last longer to immerse yourself in it and just keep headbanging

in the 80's and 90's songs used to hit 20 to 25 million copy's a artist. Today the best artists get barely a million while auto tune gets around 7 million in mainstream.
The brain only likes what it can understand, if you bring up a child with music you imprint music senses to a degree or factor. Thus the 234K listeners are more people of higher musical property's and their brains can follow and understand the music = The liking of music.... Have you ever listen to a meh song so much you started liking it? Same effect. Also children under 10 with musical practices have been found to have a bigger cortex in the brain by the age of 12 than most other kids, this allows one to use left or right side of the brain. This intimidates that music is good for educational skill development. The Greek philosophers before the time of books had 4 core ideals. Science/Math to advance civilization, philosophy to guide community ideals, Music to recreate/meditate and understand, Astronomy to guide the way for man kind. and today music is not enforced in schools which it should be, every child deserves the exposure to music from a young age it should be a curriculum in school not by choice but by demand.
The album “I let it in and it took everything”, is a compilation of stories, of “it” being let in and taking everything, wether it be death itself (heavy is the head), or being at the lowest point (red room), when I read “while sharing the same air I can dissapear”, or the repetitive lines “I see, you are”, and how the lyrics change from the first verse to the last verse, I think this song, being the album cover, is the true meaning of “letting it in and it took everything”, “I see you are” is acceptance, and “while sharing the same air I can disappear”, is it taking everything.
3:39 is the most gut wrenching thing I feel I’ve ever heard. “I see, you are” I see you for who you truly are. I see the crippling pain that you’ve cause me. I can feel the real you. And it hurts. That gritty distorted chorus guitar feels like it grips your guts. You look at the person you are with and realize you don’t feel safe. In fact you are fearful. That realization is the most dreadful feeling ever and it’s perfectly portrayed here.
I’ve listened to this album front to back, like, 20 times since it’s come out. I love this. All of it. If this album was a drug, I would be addicted. I NEED IT.
I mean music IS addicting. It releases the same chemicals in your brain that a drug releases. And people have become addicted to music. Sounds like you are one of them people lol
