I swear this girl changes my whoooolleee personality and makes me appreciate simple things in life. I would LOVE to go on a walk like you now, but there is nowhere for me to go lol. There is a river nearby full of garbage and garbage is everywhere and it smells awful, and it’s 40 degrees outside today so I literally can’t even go out . I hope you know how lucky you are bcs the place where you live is THE MOST PRECIOUS THING EVER I SWEAR!💕😭
Sameee, people who are surrounded by nature don’t realize how lucky they are. I live in a city where there is a lot of visual pollution, so I don’t go outside at all which affects my mood/health. I am locked up all the time.
Sorry to hear that! Is it possible to clean up the river a bit? Maybe collect some rubbish or plant some seeds for flowers or something? I've heard of some communities doing river cleanups that really helped with pollution. All the best for you!
Same here, I'd go outside but it's so hot and theirs a lot of bugs and my city is known for being dangerous, I wish I could move, I live in California btw so the heat is just so bad here :(
I live in Brazil, which isn't safe country for women at all, I mean, it's not the worst, but we women have to beware here, so it's not as enjoyable going outside when you're constantly on guard. the closest thing I have from a beautiful countryside is on Stardew valley 😂😂
My area is actually quite decent however the people that live around here scare me a lot, and I feel like I might get attacked if I go out. (Maybe that's me all the time)
This may sound odd - but this video was so effective at capturing the sound of a quiet morning. The dulled sound of the voice when you step farther away from the camera, the bubbles and pockets of sound and silence. This video definitely put me at ease. ❤
People that laugh at you reading during brushing teeth forget that 3 pages everyday gives you over 1000 pages in a year which is more than average person in my country reads.
One thing I've noticed for a while is that you always seem to be doing something while eating (reading, writing a letter..) I think eating can be an activity worth enjoying on its own! Admiring the flavours and being mindful of what we feed our bodies seems like a task that could/should have our full attention :)
This is one of my favourite videos ever! The filming clips, the angles you shoot from, the whole slow living aspect of it etc. It's brilliant and it provides me with a calming end to what has been a stressful day. :). I also love crumpets!!
actually teleportation was invented but not with a machine, you know what? Books, every book teleports you to another world, some excited and some sad world...
I discovered the beauty of early morning/night walks few months ago. I usually wake up at 4am and go for a walk before a sun rise and then go back to sleep. I allows me to enjoy the walk because I don't feel like there is a time limit, also world is still asleep, streetlights are on and it makes streets look so magical.
You really inspire me. I come from a very toxic family where I was never able to develop a great routine and relationship with myself. I’m trying to change my habits, to give myself the heartiest and most relaxing life possible. I think I deserve it. Seeing that it’s possible gives me hope!
Every time I watch one of your videos I am reminded to read more, as I love reading, and to have another cup of tea! Sadly I don't get much time to read these days, being a Mum and homeschooling my daughter and working but I can't ever get enough tea!
i read books for pulling me back to the present...every part of it feels so nice.. it is a lil hard to get up and grab a book but when i do its wholesome!
I kid you not Ruby, my exact words when I picked up my phone: (TH-cam notification) "Oooh, someone's posted" (Unlocked my phone) "😲 it's Ruby" (Opened TH-cam) "😮 it's a morning routine vlog - and it's 20 minutes long" I thoroughly enjoyed the format of the video, your honesty, and your authenticity. Thank you so much Ruby! 💕
Ruby radiates such kind and gentle energy. It's so lovely and inspiring to see. Great video as always, love the routine and book content as it's peaceful and therapeutic.
the part where youre on your morning walk, and youre describing the subtle changes in the season sounds so beautiful, the words you use, and your diction, it sounds like poetry and im in love 😭🤍🤍
This was just incredible, I never enjoyed a morning routine more, I think this serene vlog style suits you so much. Listening to your freely flowing mind made this so personal. Thank you for brightening my day once again
I've been in a academic slump these days but ever since I've caught on with your channel I became a little more motivated to achieve little tasks. Your tips and ideas incorporated in your videos allowed me to approach things a lot more easier and organized. I also play your vlogs a lot whenever I'm answering modules and essays which really helped me feel calm and clear headed. Thank you very much for your videos!
Every time I feel unmotivated I watch one of your videos. Thank you so much for creating such comforting content, it’s completely changed my perspective on productivity and academia🖤
I cannot express how calm and centered this made me feel Ruby! I felt I was in the English countryside in summer right beside you (rather than our dark rainy winter) and it has made me feel so much better
Thank you for not including background music! I feel like people are often in need to underlay everything with sound today just to not hear the silence. I myself find it hard as well to find my way back to silence after I refused it all the time for many years. So, thanks again. Also, I like thistles very much as well! And nobody ever understands that, because they find them annoying. I was happy to hear something positive about this beautiful plant from someone. Also I think that you are very kind and sweet. I followed you for exactly this calming slow living content and the victorian and book stuff :)
I’m definitely in favour of ‘being present’ during your daily walk. So many people seem to listen to music, podcasts or audio books when walking and miss out on so much. I love making that connection with nature and enjoy the changing of the seasons, even though my walk is much less scenic than yours. ☘️🦋
This is the most genuine vlogs I have seen for a while now. I live in a city which usually gets very busy around 7am. The beautiful European countryside you live in is something I always wanted to enjoy. Also, these kinda chatty routines are actually super nice, Ruby. Keep up with the good work.
Ruby this video is so calming and wholesome I absolutely love it🤍. Also your so lucky to live so close to beautiful open fields and countryside with no other people around! Must be bliss!
Thank you Ruby for this video! I really enjoy vlog style videos because it feels more personal. But all of your videos are absolutely wonderful regardless. :) I can't wait for the planner release as well! I have had the same problem where I can never find a planner that works for me, and I really love that you have made one like this. Very happy for you, and have a wonderful rest of the week!
I love thistles! I recently did a foraging course and you can actually peel back the thorny layer of the stem, and then you can eat the clean inner stalk. It’s so refreshing - kind of like celery!
I simply enjoyed this video way too much! Loved the vlog-style with no background music, loved how you brought us along to the morning walk, loved everything about this.
Ruby, this is such a nice format change! I love how you're just kind of chatting to yourself / camera instead of talking through the things you do. And the sounds!! That way we can really feel how mindful your walks are, now it feels right! And much less like hustle productivity and you just ticking things off 🤍 I also started to notice the sounds, the smells, the sensations so much more this year, I guess it is because i started meditating regularly (thanks to Jade's reset challenge) such a lovely vid!!
Hi Ruby! I also have super pale, sensitive skin and I use something called Supergloop! It’s an invisible sunscreen so you don’t get a white cast and I’ve never burnt yet. It’s only spf30 but they also do one called Play that’s spf50 & it’s really gentle too 💗
I absolutely adore how you have this wholesome, down to earth air about you. Your videos are all absolutely lovely and I really enjoy the fact that I’ve found another fellow bookworm on TH-cam 🌻
watching your videos is really comforting. you’re so beautiful, and i love the aesthetic of you life in general. also, your accent is AMAZING. im sorry, i just love everything
I just wanna say that this video was extremely calming and inspirational. You unapologetically live life to the fullest and appreciate everything you can. It’s quite inspiring to be honest, it makes me want to do the same. Life isn’t always perfect but that doesn’t mean we can’t make an effort to make it more blissful. Thank you for your content :-)
Ruby i totally agree with you . I am currently studying ,really hard for an entrance examination , even i don't get time to look at the beauty of nature . Probably once i get into my dream university , i will pay attention to myself and of course nature's beauty !! LOVE FROM INDIA !! love your videos 🥰i use them as a break for myself . You really cheer me up 😊
I really love the scene you read during the walk outside, somehow it just touched me and the authentic beauty just made me want to cry. Thank you for that~
This was amazing.... because this is the truth...we don't always have some perfect music or songs playing around us in real life, this is the real music of life and we shall love it.....have a wonderful day ruby and all✨💐
While watching this video I am drinking tea and ordering the new academic planner. Thank you for your content Ruby and inspires me to be a better academic and take time to live slowly.
LOL yes walking outside in nature is the gift of Covid. Discovered so many lovely places to walk around my house. Love your bike, always have this victorian-ish feel to your videos and then super modern mountain bike with disc brakes. The last time I was paying attention one of the female cycling Olympians had a range in Halfords that looked the best of both worlds. Disc brakes are such a game changer it not worth not having them. Also no fountain pen! One of the best bits of my day is that period when I am planning and journaling in the morning writing in purple or green Diamine inks.
Such a calming video, it made me want to appreciate my surroundings more. I really do not take advantage of having a quiet garden and really need to. You are living in a fairy tale
There is a blog that I do recommend, seeing all your slow living content. Terri Windling writes about myths and the english countryside. She is the person who inspired me to fall in love with trees.
I love her fantasy. The Changeling, though for children, is one of the scariest books I’ve ever read 😆 It didn’t help that I was alone in a dark cabin in the same mountains that serve as a setting for the book. I am going to check out her blog - thanks!
A little thing: before making your bed, let it air out a bit. There's these things called dust mites, which are completely natural and actually beneficial as they eat up dead skin cells and stuff. However, an excess can cause bumps and allergic reactions, which is why it's best to just air everything out (maybe with an open window), as they thrive in a warmer and dense surrounding. Edit: especially people with sensitive skin! Edit: of course you don't have to do this. This is just what I was taught with a brother who has very sensitive and dry skin. And we do notice when he does air out his bed and doesn't
@AA you are so very welcome! Just let it air out. When there's no storm, you can open a window. If there's a storm, just open the door of the room you're in to kinda let it air.
At the beginning you could see all of the items under the bed which I wouldn’t show but that’s my opinion you could put a towel underneath or some fabric you like. Over all amazing!
Dear Ruby, keep making your vlog and study videos. Basically, anything you posted on your account is awesome and inspiring! You really changed the way I look at something :)
I love this kind of content. It’s the kind that I watch and always go back to watching as a university student ❤. Also I’ve been adoring your content Ruby!
The white dress looks SO GOOD on you! Also, loved that there was no music. Loved the format and how long the video was. Felt less rushed and less formal I guess. It was very relaxing :)
I know what you mean when you go for a walk. I’ve been feeling very low for the past month or so and nearly on the verge of going to see the doctor BUT I decided to try and help myself as tablets only mask the problem. As I’m lucky enough to live by the sea in Devon I was on the beach by 7am this morning, beach was empty - just how I like it being an introvert and just sat with my coffee watching and listening to the waves then sat with my journal and my book. I felt so energised by the time I got back to the cottage. I recommend this to anyone who is feeling low to just and go and walk, it’s good for the mind and being amongst nature is just beautiful.
I’m really glad that taking some time out for a walk is so beneficial. I too often enjoy taking walks, particularly when I’m conscious of my mood dropping low again, as the fresh air and open spaces can help a lot in relaxing the mind and having a lone meditative period, alongside of course the light exercise being good for raising one’s mood. But please don’t feel shameful, guilty, or weak if you feel as though you still need to visit a doctor for a referral to therapy and/or some medication to help. It’s not going to cure anything 100%, but it can really help sometimes if you still feel as though you need a little support in order to help you, help yourself. Of course not suggesting a necessity of such, but it’s okay to ask for help too. I hope things ease up on you soon
It's great that you're trying these things and I hope you feel better soon. But just wanted to point out that it's not true that tablets only mask the problem. What they actually do is they treat the biological aspect of a mental illness so that you get the breathing space to practice the healthy mental and physical habits that will help you heal. Without medication, the biological issue may be too overwhelming for someone to overcome on their own. So medication is not a short cut and it's not masking anything. It's just a tool that supports someone as they go about making the life changes that they need to improve their health. I really hope you'll get better without medication, but there's also nothing wrong with seeking professional help (medication or therapy) if you decide you need it.
@@firelunamoon thank you! I do agree, I will if I get real bad, just want to try and help myself first. I woke this morning with knots in my stomach, made myself get out of bed and go for a walk, now sitting looking out to sea, knot still in my stomach and feeling crap. Will see how I go but yes I will seek help if needed. I’m already on anxiety tablets that I’ve been on for years, tried coming off them but went down hill again, so I do understand what you are saying.
Oh my god you got silkies!! Just when I thought your channel couldn't get better, you introduced us to your chickens. I love them!! Hope you are having a great day!
Ahhh Ruby I loved this!! Well done you!! What a lovely outlook you have. I know just what you mean about the daily walks, especially mornings. It’s just me and the dogs and I love it. So peaceful and quiet! 🌈🌻💕
I love the background and scenery of your home (inside and out; I love your kitchen). It’s all so beautiful and peaceful. When you were running through the fields, you reminded me of Elizabeth Bennett (I can’t believe I forgot how to spell her last name! 😮, lol). I used to love writing letters to pen pals! It gave me something to look forward to in the mail ❤ Sadly, I’ve lost contact with them all now, and have no one to exchange letters with now.
You're so lucky to live in the countryside. It's a luxury to have that much open space and have animals and take walks in nature.
Exactly, I would love to live in the countryside, plus she lives in England with the most beautiful countryside and cosy weather
Exactly! I live near a huge graveyard with lots of nature in it it's like leaving the city entirely when you enter it. It's one of my comfort places.
@@moonevergreen6077 graveyard?
Its not always that nice tho
I live in somerset and can confirm its beautiful!
Reading a book outdoor on a sunny morning as being one with nature is a bliss. I always love taking one, go out and dive right into the story.
You are so so right!
Ruby's comment section is one of the most wholesome and kindest thing on TH-cam ☺️
P. S great video Ruby❤️
It's because ruby is also wholesome and kind! 💖

also i love all your cutlery, they have such cute designs!
I did, I actually like it

The sound of Ruby's "good morning" to the chickens...delightful 😊

What a lovely life. It’s almost like an unintentional ASMR video. It’s so serene and inspiring.
Ruby is the representation of when your mindset personality and needs matches your environment 🫀🎈
I absolutely love her morning routine/evening routine videos. They're all just so motivating and aesthetic.
I like how she's grateful of everything ☺️

This is so beautiful. I've always wanted to live in the countryside, where we can listen to birds chirp every morning and enjoying the green grass.
Utterly inspiring! I would recommend The Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady by Edith Holden, if you don’t already know about it.
this is so so calming! love the vlog style and lack of background music for a morning routine 🤍
As to your comment on thistles at 8:18, it made me think of a quote by A.A. Milne:
"Weeds are flowers too, once you get to know them."
This was just incredible, I never enjoyed a morning routine more, I think this serene vlog style suits you so much. Listening to your freely flowing mind made this so personal. Thank you for brightening my day once again
Thank you! I will have to film another like this at some point x
Ruby, your words "how over green the hedges are.... " and "these are brimming with life" reminded me of William Wordsworth.

This is so rustic and lovely! It's also so peaceful and inspiring. I'd love to see more of this kind of videos from you!
I've found that if I blend my sunscreen in with a beauty blender it sinks in easier and doesn't leave as much of a white cast
wow great tip! I'm going to try this today!
Also I would recommend Ruby wear a bucket hat or wide brim hat while she’s outside if she has sensitive skin :)
This is the second video I have seen from Ruby, and she has become my favorite TH-camr. She just made me so happy.
What book was she reading on her walk
Dear Ruby, keep making your vlog and study videos. Basically, anything you posted on your account is awesome and inspiring! You really changed the way I look at something :)
I love this kind of content. It’s the kind that I watch and always go back to watching as a university student ❤. Also I’ve been adoring your content Ruby!
That’s the first video of yours I’ve ever watched and I really really enjoyed it. It was so calming and motivating❤️
I love the vlog style! Also, I agree that thistles are beautiful!
@@koipebbles4904 thank you for your kind words, if it doesn’t sort itself I will ask for help. 🙏
as an introvert i really relate to this
It's great that you're trying these things and I hope you feel better soon.
Your videos are sooooo inspiring! Surely I need to see one so I can focus on my tasks, you change my whole mood and I love it.
She is so lucky to have all of those amazing ,beautiful places around her house! I hope I can offer this to my future children one day! 🌹
