It reminds me of a time when I was absolutely hypothermic on my bike and I pulled into a layby at night. A police patrol car pulled in behind me to see if everything was alright, he then took me into his car put the heater up for me and shared his flask of coffee. What a great guy

There’s no shame in calling it a day when it’s not fun. Like you said, it’s about having fun. Consider your health, too. No point in cracking on and being stubborn when it could easily have got to the point where your too cold and make a mistake which causes you an injury.
Also, no sheep were harangued in this episode either. That’ll keep the fussy buggers happy!

Hi 👋 Kate and Mike, what a wet environment, beautiful but so wet. My nose started dripping just by watching the video. I don’t even know how a person could spend a night in a tent ⛺️ around there. I would surely need a wd40 soaking for my joints, after that. Maybe an equipped campsite is a little bit different than a field or a woods. I imagine someone pulling tent zip down, so sleepy after a not so comfortable night, and be face to face with an absolutely self confident bear 🐻 or during bedtime, sayng “Honey, how wet and cold is your hand tonight”, and suddenly find out it’s a big snake 🐍 diving into your pajama, actually.
I prefer the warmer atmosphere you experienced once you got at the restaurant, at the end of the video. Very nice dishes.
I must admit you had a good spirit of adventure, also regarding the bikes: they”re very tiny and carrying all the necessary stuff on them, reminded me a little bit of “dumb and dumber” chainsaw motorbike journey to Aspen.

Kate, I've really enjoyed this series with the 125s. You did a fantastic job filming it in all the weather situations you were in. I've been chilled to the bone too at times and it's only other motorcycle riders that can relate to how to cold you can actually get. INMHO Kate you handled all the conditions superbly. All credit to you. Very well done.

I have to say i think you are all barking mad doing that trip on 125's. Having said that wales is a stunning place for a bike trip, i've done quite a few over the years. Brecon Beacons, the Elan valley. When you mentioned Devils bridge i wondered if you might take the old Drove road from Devils bridge to Rhayader and the elan valley lakes that's a great fun little road. Barking mad or not though that was a great set of videos 👍.
You almost looks as Diana (princess of wales) if your haircut are in short, I like your charisma 😍😍🥰🥰

They were so so accommodating. The chef even came out to check on us and make sure we were happy!

If you get some large marigolds they will go over your gloves and keep them dry and help to keep your hands warm.

Haha my first ever cattle grid slippage 🤣🤣 and I've been riding 15 years lol! Honestly, being so cold and hearing we had 2.5 hours to go on twistie roads is soul destroying haha. We made it though!

As I watched this I thought "She's getting cold". I could hear your voice changing. Keeping warm on the bike is so important. Hypothermia, however mild, starts slowing your reactions and creeps up on us un-noticed until it's too late. Hope it wasn't too painful as you warmed up. Looks like you stumbled on a good place to get dry and fed.
Honestly Mike, my lips had started to turn blue. We pulled up at lights before we made it to the pub... I opened my visor, looked at Mike and a single tear rolled down my cheek haha! 🥲 it was the most painful riding I've ever done lol

Good decision making on not camping in torrential rain crocodile. Personally I would have booked a room somewhere. Really enjoyed this series Kate.

Sometimes things just don't go to plan. When it becomes a chore you have missed the point of why you were doing the trip in the first place. It was absolutely the right call to stop where you could get warm and get some food in your, then cut your losses and head home. I have been in your shoes - caught in torrential, freezing cold rain on the west coast of Scotland a number of years ago, but in our case we stopped at a place called, wait for it, Badcall. And it really was a bad call. The was no warm welcome, no place with a radiator to try and dry (or at least partially dry) our bike gear. The owner of the B&B expected us to leave all the wet gear in an alcove next to an open door. In the morning it was still sopping wet. We were so glad to be out of that place.

Looked like fun on those bikes...but not when your cold and wet! You need some better wet weather gear...a good rain jacket over the top is a game changer for non stop rain 🌧. I can imagine how totally unappealing that campsite looked!! Cheers, Steve 😊
My suit is incredible, never leaked on me once, I just only had a tshirt underneath so I was cold to the bone and my gloves are rubbish in torrential rain so defo need new gloves. But my suit is excellent and has been for 4 years.

Travelled the New England Highway in Australia, temp never rose above 11 C and it would not stop raining. Stayed in pubs to dry out. Great series. Keep it coming. Enjoyed the banter.

The roads in a 40 limit at 10.30 in the vid were the early Top Gear test roads ! before it was a 40 limit. ! I was told by a local that the hairpin at 12:10 is known locally as 'cuckoo corner' because of the way many go round it.
Oh, and Mike was right to stop there, on a clear day the view is absolutely fantastic.

@@UsernameKate Yeah, I was staying in Rhayader, which is 35 miles from there, and I had mentioned it to the local guy, he just pointed and said "oh, yeah, it's over there", so I reckon you can clearly see 40-50 miles with more in the background.
Google Street View won't do it justice, but it'll give you a good idea of the view.

As I've posted before, I live very close to the devils staircase, and you were immensely unlucky with the cyclists on the road to Llandovery past lake Brianne, and as displayed by your footage, they tend to ride all over the place, (I've ridden that road at least 40 times and never in total seen the amount of cyclists you saw in less than an hour) plus midges only last about 2 weeks out here, so again very unlucky 🤨 I loved this video, as these roads are MY roads, The wagon @ Newtown is nice and I also recommend it, I really enjoyed this vid, I hope you all got back safe & well 👍

I don't know what the licence status is for Clifford, but I think that you need a trip starting from Northern Spain. A quick hop down from the N.W. England to South coast England, followed by a ferry to Northern Spain, could be just what the doctor ordered. If Royal Enfield would lend you 2 or 3 bikes of around 350 cc you could have a journey southwards as far as you feel sensible / insensible, avoiding all toll roads / motorways. What do you think, Kate? Granada and Almeria are nice at this time of year ...

What amazing trip and vids..........shame the weather turned on you so badly! I was once touring in France and we were heading to Le Mans but torrential rain had soaked us and the campsite................so we rode to Paris instead and stayed in a hotel for the weekend instead........Happy days! 😁👌

Not sure what this series with the boys was for. I know two of you were on Sinnis's and one on the Honda Monkey bike. Camping in Wales can be a bit hit and miss with the weather, as you found out. Enjoyed all the vids especially this one in the wet and the banter was funny. Glad you got some nice treatment in Newport before the cold wet ride home, that can't have been much fun. Well done 👍
Hey John! Wasn't really a point to the series! Just 3 125s having a laugh 😃 the ride home was difficult but Mike gave me his dry winter gloves like an angel haha if I didn't have them, I think I'd have severely struggled as my lips had gone blue at this point lol

Only went through Newtown this afternoon, Needed some fuel otherwise id have gone down the bypass to the twisties, For me it was dry and fairly warm unlike the weather you had. I know how coid you must have been as i've done a lot of miles around wales in the mist and rain. Even if your dry underneath its still chills you to the bone. Good move on ditching the camping bit, I dont blame you and great move getting some warm food inside you and getting warm before heading home. I think your mad doing all this on 125's but it looks like you had a load of fun and thats what its all about at the end of the day. Those roads were fantastic well worth getting cold for I think. Dont think ive ever heard " do you need a dump " on a vlog before but thats what me and my mates would say to each other and it made me chuckle. Anyway thanks for the vlog really enjoyed watching it. Ride Safe.

Honestly, I wouldn't have been able to get home if Mike didn't lend me his spare winter gloves that he was going to wear. They were the only things that gave me some comfort on the way home lol
Really enjoyed this series! The banter while on the road, the roads and views, and even the cold wet weather (easy for me to say!) with a warm dry place with great food to recover a bit. I hope I can take a similar trip someday! Looking forward to the next series of vids! Thanks!

This was a fun series. What did you make of the Sinnis bikes in the end? Some people say they're uncomfortable or unreliable but can't be that bad if 2 of you managed a trip like this on them!

Food looked good, and fully get why you didn't want to wild camp in that weather. I think with all the cyclists, being on small bikes makes much more sense on those skinny single track roads... big bikes would have been annoying trying to pass

choosing tents for a motorcycle always a difficult decision, have my Coleman Tasman or my Vango Mirage when I go away, use to take either a Coleman bedrock or cobra, the first two have a little more room, but really only ideal for the one person, my other two tents are just too big to take on the bike, thought my new air tent would be around the same size as my other family tent, nope, it is massive lol I won't be taking that away on the bike. Avoid Lonerider, unless they will give you a freebie, their tents are crap for British weather, poles break and the seams split.

Not being a wimp, being smart. My wife and I were on a tent camping trip where most of the time it was miserable, cooking and cleaning and hanging out in a six man tent was no fun so just about every meal started with a drive into town to a restaurant. While I don’t mind cyclists I do mind the ones that hog the road and refuse to “share the road”. I do look forward to your humor and again I was not let let down. Sorry to see this series at an end looking forward to the next adventure.

Phew, I’m glad it’s been reported because I was worried somebody wasn’t going to report the fact that the farmer has actually committed an offence as per the Highways Act 1980….
If any horses, cattle, sheep, goats or swine are at any time found straying or lying on or at the side of a highway their keeper is guilty of an offence.

The farmer in question should be apologising for his sheep being unsupervised on a much used public road. It is he, who should be taken to task, not Kate. I've been a retired farmer since 2020 and still live on a farm that I now, because of declining health, lease to another party. I had 46 years of farming with livestock and also grain production on the land and here by law, the farmer could/would held accountable if
livestock were not kept within farm boundaries. In the case of a road user having an impact with a farmers unsupervised livestock on a roadway the farmer was sometimes sued for injury and damages. We never had livestock on the road here because of well maintained fencing which was always checked before animals were put in. Kate and the others had no alternative other than to get past the sheep in the manner they did to avoid running the sheep even further from their farm. The farmer when finally getting his sheep back would have to head them off by getting ahead of them in the same manner before herding them home.

I'd say it wasn't the farmers' finest moment letting them roam wild unattended on public roads, but that's just me!

It's never cool riding with cyclists. Pay naff all. Think they own the roads. Selfish riders. Hog the roads. Just makes me laugh. All that countryside. You would think they would be on a nice Mountain Bike. But oh no. Dress up in Lycra and get a Racing Bike. Doh.

Typical divisive bullshit. I've been riding motorcycles, vans and cars (generally owning all three at the same time) as well as riding road and mountain bikes for about 35 years now. Tell me again how I pay nothing towards the roads. I also live about 10 miles from Llyn Brianne and regularly ride this route on my bicycle. I don't know where you live mate but I was born, brought up and work here, why the fk shouldn't I ride these roads on my bicycle? How come you get to decide who should be allowed to use our roads?
