I am a over weight 53 yr old man . On again off again weight lifter and martial artist . Just simply got sick of waking up so stiff in the morning . Took up yoga a few months back and simply love it . I gave up the gym . I wake up flexible and no longer stiff . It has helped my golf game 200 % . My aching joints are gone . Loving your challenging classes . Go with the Flo !!!

You should try Qigong also. i have a similar story to yours. BJJ and Judo since the mid 90s. 51 years old. I still lift but its very brief and basic. My body feels much better with Yoga and Qigong. Keep up the excellent work.

I started doing yoga in October of 2020, during the quarantines. It was not long before I gravitated to B&F videos, and the yoga for men series became a staple for my practice. Some time this August I will take my first in person classes... and then hopefully the yoga teacher training later this year

I absolutely started training with you all with Yoga for Men and eventually joined y'all's Patreon many months ago since I liked the videos so much. Though I like everything you all have to offer, I always find myself going back to those 19 (now 20!) videos when I want a practice where I know exactly what to expect - a strong and creative flow :) Can't wait to try this one!

I was into basic weight training for about 8 years. I never considered yoga at all.
Yoga for men was the first real course/video that introduced me into yoga. Haven't looked back and it's been about 6 months. Thank you for your continued content. ♥️

I started practicing yoga 9 years ago, also been teaching on and off for the past 6 years. I often find it difficult to have my own practice so I prefer to follow a class as it motivates and inspires me more. You and Bri's styles of teaching are my favorites by far. I have taken every class in your channel several times and gotten so much stronger since I started. It's amazing. I'm also a climber, and the slow functional aspect of this practice helps tremendously. Alright, it's time for this 3 hour practice! Let's go!

I love you both and your new, future, yogi. I'm a climber, mountain biker, snowboarder, skier, swimmer, and very occasional surfer. I'd never considered Yoga, I have asthma and the idea of focusing on my breathing made me feel panicky, and asthmatic, which is ironic. Well, in April 2020 there was no climbing, mountain biking, swimming and so, like so many, I hunted for what I could do at home. I really don't know why I entered the words "for men" in my Yoga TH-cam search, presumably it was a mild, subconscious, macho thing, but I did, and there you were/are. And Flo, I keyed into you immediately. If it weren't "you" whom I first "met" I really don't think I would have stuck with it. I loved the way you practice, and I really appreciated the way you connect with us. I still do. I did stick with Y4Men videos exclusively for several months, I know many other people here would get giddy when they'd see a new video released in their feed, giddy like I did. And then I started exploring your other content, and then Brie's content, only because you Flo gave me the connection and feedback I needed, and your sessions were compact and powerful, and I found so were Brie's, but also different. And then you announced you were on Patreon, and I joined immediately, and "boy oh boy" :-) 90 + minute classes really a game changer. I've created playlists of Yin sessions, Tutorials I find particularly useful, 30 minute sessions, 45 minute sessions, 60-75 minute sessions, and the magical 90+. As I return to my other sports, I've appreciated not just the strength and flexibility Yoga/you have given me, but, most importantly, improved presence and breathing. And, as I now dedicate more time to my "old" sports, I know that Yoga will remain a constant in my life. Yoga is not the poses, you taught us that. My point: Flo, I think of you and Brie as friends even though we've never met, in person, and maybe we never will and that's ok. And I thank you for introducing me to this practice. Your instincts were 100% right, calling it "Yoga for Men" convinced those of us who are resistant to engage (the glutes?) :-) Thank you.

I started practicing Yoga with Sean Vigue around 4 years ago, and around 2 years ago I found your channel through Yoga For Men. Since then, I have been doing at least a video a day with either you, Bre or Sean, and I could not be happier with this time investment. This class was a super experience. Physically demanding, even for someone advanced (as I consider myself). But the real challenge is always the meditation and keeping the stillness while not moving. It really is true that one of the most difficult things we can do is to just sit in silence. Yet, meditation is the most wonderful thing in the world, no matter how challenging. Thank you, thank you, thank you for releasing this video!

Thank you so much, Flo. You changed my life with these series. I believe I started when there were 9-ish episodes planning to use yoga for men as a stretching routine after crossfit, lol. Couldn't even hold down dog for 30 secs. It became resting pose for me after a week. This progress made me very confident and allowed me to start my beautiful yoga journey. I've been doing yoga for 2-3 years with you now and every time I step on my mat thinkng "I want to become better" which I was able to do only because of you. Can't believe the progress I've made, thank you dude

I started doing yoga in April 2020, during the first lockdown, soon after, I discovered B&F channel and it amazed me the great content and the way they took me by the hand. I've got so strong and fit over these 2 years practicing with them. Everyday I do at least one class, sometimes two. My entire life has changed for the better in every sense. Thanks a lot for this beautiful gift you give to the world.

before the pandemic I started going to the gym, for obvious reasons I was not able to continue. Then I was afraid to start doing yoga since I was not that flexible at that time and was also looking for something strong to replace the gym, that's when I found yoga for men and realized I just needed my mat to get stronger, my life has changed in so many ways since then and I have come to this practices a lot of times during this past 2 years, I can not thank enough for this classes. I'm looking forward to make a 3 hour space to make this full class!

haha! it's funny, because I've always thought, why do yoga while following along with women is so short and lacks thoroughness?
I've had my own practice for many years, and worked my way to a high level novice/ beginner advanced student. I got sick for a length of time and now getting back into my practice and i need to follow along with a long class to assist me.
I don't know if i will do all 3 hours today, lol but I take follow along a bit here.
thanks for putting this out here!

So, I have been doing yoga for a while now but only once a week while I do caliesthenics and weight lifting other days. I have done one yoga session with Breathe and Flow before and that was fun. But man! this one kicked my ass. I was shaking in some of the poses and had had to modify some others so that I could keep going on -- but in the end, it was cathartic to complete the entire 2 hours of it. I am so thankful to you guys for uploading something this beautiful. I enjoyed every bit of it and I am going to come back to this video next week too in hopes of doing better than this time. 💕

    • @laalulallu
      @laalulallu ปีที่แล้ว +1

Did this again today and it was a lot of fun for sure. Shaked a little less but still a long way to go. There are two poses that I just have to skip - handstands and side crow. The meditation also felt better this time. I'd rate me a 7.5/10 - let's see if I can take it to a 9 next time.

would love to hear some more insight about past lives and the tantric side of things :) I was led to assume this was an area which is for people struggling with the concept of death ( using past lives as a coping mechanism ) for the ego to create an alternate reality so that the negative aspects of life do not bother the ego. I thought rebirth after death, and reincarnation in general meant the continuation of life, as in, life goes on after we die and that life is eternal, but for our ego it is nothing more than a miracle to experience life and a once in a life time opportunity for the universe to expereince this perception ( ego ). The soul having countless lives to achieve a spiritual goal does sound interesting. But, if this was true - i would assume society and everything would be different seeing as we could persue a specific goal over many life times, but the planet is in shambles. Perhaps it is in shambles to cause pain and to cause growth spiritually, for a purpose beyond this experience? maybe we are experiencing all the human lives and then we will wake up to a different realty, which could be the macro to this micro experience? But then, would that not be the same as this ego is a one off experience, and subjectively we are done after this for eternity, besides from the impact we leave on earth and how the body returns to the cycles of matter?

I quit yoga for a year. This session reminded me of how good it makes me feel and how complementary it is to my calisthenics (mostly pull) training. I was wondering, if one regularly follows your yoga sessions, should this fix anterior pelvic tilt?

  • @ChrisGirard
    @ChrisGirard 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

I have never done yoga longer than 90 minutes in person or on TH-cam and something incredibly powerful happened to me in the breathwork. Usually I never do breathwork. At the very end, after savasana, it got silent and I fell asleep or in a deep hypnotic state, and I woke up and thought I slept through the rest of the video. But immediately I felt like my emotions wring out or something. I felt sad, but good. It was really insanely weird. Just thought I would ashare. I've done almost all of yours and Bre's videos and all of Yoga for Men videos and discovered y'all during lockdown in March 2020.

Yeah man, modern life creates rigid systems in the body. The long session loosened ridgid parts of the body, making better flow of energy. Removes the stress allowing your mind to be still. It’s awesome. Keep practicing! No matter the sensations, dont get to surreal about them. Like what my Jiu Jitsu coach always tells us, just show up to train!

I've started my yoga journey with "Yoga for Men" and your channel.
Was searchin for a strength based workout during lockdown. Everybody was talking about how great yoga is and how it benefits their lives, so I thought I have to give it try - but only the hard stuff please, because yoga can't be that hard, right? Ouh, how wrong I was - couldn't finish half of your videos at the beginning xD but I kept going and going and going, finding the spirit of yoga and my own path.
This was two years ago. Today, I practice every day. I quit the gym a long while ago, I'm in great shape - physically and mentally, I know who I am and I'm in peace with myself.
Half a year ago, I started my career as a teacher - I don't know, how I could have managed these intense but also thrilling times without yoga. So thank you. Thanks Bre, thanks Flo. Continue the awesome work. Namaste.

Although I may not have started my practice with yoga for men (I found it about 6 months into my practice), it has been a staple ever since I found your channel! So much so that I am now a patreon member and feel that other more traditional classes feel rushed and frantic compared to yours and Bre's controlled, strong and mindful practices. You are both doing such a wonderful job and service, Flo you should be so proud that you are introducing more men to yoga! (better men means better partners/brothers/colleagues/sons for women everywhere!!), I just want to thank you for all your hard work, I think I'm going to travel to India when my work contract is complete to further deepen my practice! This is the magnitude of impact you have had on a 24 year old young man from Ireland who until now you may not have known even existed 🇮🇪 thank you again, have a great day and Namaste 🙏

Much love and gratitude for this 3 hour practice with you Flo! Crushed the entire practice with you. What a gift this practice has done for my mind, my body, my entire beingness. I started practicing Yoga at the end of 2019. It has been a massive help to the transformation of who I thought I was "supposed to be", as a man, to who I am and am growing into the man that I am authentically and genuinely. It changed my life from once being suicidal, to now living my life as I see it, in order o fulfill my life for me and not anyone else or any milking cow of a lifestyle that the shitty society that people know have "normalized".
This 3 hour practice has brought me back to peace and surrender to what is, now. Words are not enough to express my gratitude to you Flo. I hope that I can meet you one day as you are so inspiring and your energy gives me hope that I too can continue to live my life in my full authentic self and for what I want to do and how I want to live it.
    Namaste

Many poses I could not do in the beginning and it's amazing to see how strong I've gotten with you and Bre's help. Along the way I've also deepened my spiritual practice and began to approach yoga more holistically, which your channel helped guide as well. I preach about your videos all the time, especially to the men in my life. I would love to come to one of your yoga retreats in the future and connect with the community in person. Very healing!!! I suggest to research pranayama as well. Yoga and breathing go together. I’ve found Yoga breathing and chanting to be the most powerful healing practices ❤. Many disorders I thought I would have for life are now completely cured and reversed. Even if I stop doing the practices, the pain does not return. This is great stuff.

Hello my friend. I am Iranian. I am an athlete. I have been practicing yoga at home for 2 weeks. I found your exercise and did it. I could not do the full 2 hours. Some parts of the exercise I refused. I didn't do it for almost 20 minutes. I will accompany you more in the next exercises and I will ask you for help. Thank you for the wonderful exercises you gave us.🙏

Started back when I was back home from College due to COVID. As a student athlete and a student artist, the combination of the physical discipline, but really the mental and creative element of the Yoga for Men videos really got me into Yoga. I go from high activity to a very sedentary lifestyle in some cases a few times a day. I have completely moved from weight lifting to Yoga for strength training. The recovery aspect and the mobility + the cognitive and behavioral benefits of the whole practice [breathing and mediation go a long way] have been really life changing. Plus, being tall, it helps to have a teacher who gets the dimensions that I'm working with. Thanks for sharing the Journey.

I have a question: at 26:58 that pose, I can just do it with my heel NOT touching the floor. If I try I simply fall back on my butt. Which muscle(s) should I stretch or strengthen to be able to put down my heel?
    Thank you!

Simply love the feeling after long yoga practices, stretched, a bit tired, balanced and in peace.
Also all time mystery to me is that how such long classes don't feel that long while in process and after.
Thank you for sharing this one here with us.

simple concept basic logic if life is not free why the hell would death be any cheaper it's not. So the question one may wonder is the spiritual cost to one's own soul and spirit for having lived and died to the lowest standards of quality for so many years now global pollution has diminished the quality of life to the point where today's people are living, dying and yielding the worst spiritual kickback that has ever been manifested since the beginning of life only getting worse. The polar opposite extreme to that is today's people should be living and dying to the highest standards of quality which would make each and every moment physically, mentally, financially and spiritually beneficial. The most advanced ancient royal elite super superior dominate civilized nations. Made sure all their loyal subjects were able to live and die to the highest standards of quality that were available during that time and they can do this without anyone overstepping their boundaries. Because the end result of such a lifestyle. Is constant consisting physical, mental, financial and spiritual progress occurring within each and every moment of life. That Level of care to oneself and others results in a truly positive force that is self perpetuating continuously. S.R.F.
