- 21 is a one-hour historical journey, explaining the details of the eras since the beginning of the Tsarist Russia's war and Circassians heroes to this day
It's a docudrama film that resembles a documentary-style genre that features dramatized re-enactment of some scenes of the immigration actual historical events from that era with a new modern and contemporary style, in addition to a variety of old scenes that explain the suffering our ancestors went through from such migration, the secret of their resettlement in many of the Arab countries, the reasons for Tsarist Russia's war and their ambitions in the Caucasus. The film will interview a number of Circassian figures, including Dr. Mohammed Khair Mamser and other Circassian and Jordanian intellectual heroes.

This is truly a tragedy...what sticks in my spirit though is these people's were Christians for 1000 years due to Byzantine influence, then one day their monarchs decided to convert to Islam, within a 100 years the majority were Islamic and they endured one of the worst genocides in history. First of all the circassians didnt "choose turkey" as leaving to the ottoman empire was their only option beside being slaughtered in the caucasus.
And regarding the position after reaching turkey, there were circassians on both sides during the wars in turkey. Some circassians like Ethem stood with the nationalist turkish movement and some circassians like Ahmed Anzavur stood with the ottoman side and allied with the british and greek forces.
Lastly, if the goal of your comment is to "blame" circassians for turkeys position regarding armenians or greeks. Then there are really other people you should blame first. As circassians also suffered in turkey. The circassian language was banned, circassian last names were switched for turkish ones etc. This video is about the circassian war and genocide, where 90% of our people were either killed or exiled and our lands became fully occupied, we didnt go to turkey because we liked it there, or because we wanted to help the ottomans in their wars.

Actually historical sources say Circassians played an important role in this war of independence. However like the gentleman above stated,Turkey was not "chosen" it was merely where the boats full of sick/malnourished/wounded/and tired people landed...and they were received. As an Italian history researcher,. I have read from many, many sources about both the Circassian and Armenian genocide... You cannot compare the Circassians genocide which was based on hatred against their race and religion, with the Armenian genocide, which was like “revenge” for the Turks. .. The loss of territories in the Balkans made it clear what was going to happen in Eastern Anatolia. So the government made the choice to get rid of the Armenians.
