The way the guy lied about the reason he couldn’t change the oil is definitely proof it wasn’t a good or real reason not to. If there was a legitimate reason there would be no reason to lie.
As someone who lives in Alaska and literally up the road from that jiffy Lube you’re better off going to sunshine Rae motors jiffy lube is trash . Yes I just stumbled on this video lol 😆
Jiffy Lube guy could have physically changed your oil without putting you "in the system" on their computer. SMH! Stay warm you two! Blue is looking healthy, so good to see him happy and active. I'm way too chicken to be in Alaska in the cold with 4 hrs of sunlight. I'm watching from Georgia while sipping my hot coffee.
FYI. The motor in that truck was originally designed to be a marine diesel motor. So that means they were built to run non stop for hours and sometimes days. If you get in a situation where it is very very cold and you need heat. You can fire up the truck and let it run all night with the heat on. Just make sure you idle it up slightly like 100 rpm.
Love the rug and blanket for blue. Maybe it would be good to get Blue some booties for his feet to protect against the cold and sharp objects. Anyway's I dig the car decor also. Safe travels!
Ria.. if allowed, a suggestion or three. See if you can get in contact with Luke who runs the @OutdoorBoys channel. He lives in Alaska and does many winter camping videos. Who knows, he could have ideas for keeping Poe warmer... or maybe he can get you to camp in a snow cave!!! 😂 From watching his content, he has these down camping booties to sleep in that keep his feet happy!!! I think they come from Western Mountaineering. Wiggys is also another company that makes camp sleeping booties. Both companies also make sub-zero sleeping bags and other clothing. I'd suggest like others have mentioned in adding some additional insulation to the sides of the popup, like the foil-lined bubble wrap insulation you can get for hot water heaters. It will keep more heat in and the additional layer will help with the freezing condensation on the inside. Besides a engine block heater.... see if you can find an electrical, magnetic contact heater. When I had a diesel fueled vehicle in -20F winter temps, it would help keep the tank warm in the middle of the night giving additional protection against the fuel gelling.
hey girl, i don't know if someone has said this before or not, but you need to have wool underwear as a base and fleecesett. i don't know what kind of sleeping bag you have, but i'll suggest T-comfert sleeping bags which is design for women and it has also a layer of wool for warmt. make sure that the sleeping bag has duck feather or there will be other option of feather in case of allergies. You'r doing great and good luck out there. Love from Norway :)
I start decorating the day after Thanksgiving. It is a tradition. Before my parents passed away me and all our siblings there wife's and grandchildren all crammed into a small house, but we had so much fun bring up old memories. My mom was an amazing woman who loved our family. She had dementia and couldn't decorate by herself, so all the woman pitched in. I am going to cry. I miss them so much.😢. Hoping you and Blue have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
Thank you! Finally someone who agrees with me that Christmas starts November 1st! I get shit for it all the time but the music goes on, the decorating commences and I get into my jolly spirit full time
I about fell backwards when I saw blue getting his groove on while you were videotaping, I cracked up so hard and thought what a natural blue is at moments. He is an extraordinary animal one of a kind and I pray that you both have many years together.
Hi there, in cold climates you should be running 0-40 or at least a 5-40 synthetic oil. It will help with cold starting, and there will be less initial engine wear on cold start ups. FYI. Gary from AB Canada.
Question about the rtt...would it be warmer to sleep with the tent down and sleep on the bench? Do you lose a lot of heat through the sides of the tent since its not hard sided? And do you think Blue needs little boots for his feet since theres more ice and it being so cold? He looks like he is doing good with the treatment ❤ give him big kisses and take care of yourself as well!
Hi. A 12 volt electric blanket uses far less power than a standard electric blanket does and solar generators are all rated for use in cold conditions. Some will stop working in cold conditions and there are other generators that will work in colder conditions than that jackery. Your paying for the name. There are better and more reliable generators than can work in colder conditions. Always check the working temps when purchasing a generator. Some are only rated to work down to freezing temperatures while some will work below freezing. Hope this help ya! Good luck.

Maria and Blue are taking Alaska by storm! Praying for both your safety and many more adventures to come. Glad Blue is doing better, such an adorable doggo!!! 🤗🐕
I used to live in North Pole Alaska for 5 years. It would get to -30 and worst case scenario -60. We were advised to always fill up our tanks when it got down to half way for safe measure. I had to winterize my vehicle because of the extreme cold of Alaska. Block heater with a plug to connect it to an outet because I did not have a garage. Also, incase you didn't know this, when it gets cold you always have to touch metal prior to filling your gas tank because there is alot of static electricity in the air that can ignite when gasing your truck. Hope you safe travels and I always enjoy when you upload a new video. I want to make sure you are prepared for this harsh weather.
@@BiKEnBiTES My biggest concern for Maria is if she takes the truck far out away from the town and is remotely isolated when the temps drop to extreme conditions. If she can not start her truck up she will have major issues. She should consider getting her truck winterized if she has not done this yet and staying closer to civilization just for safety. Because when temps drop signicantly it will look like your the last person on earth. I remember -30 trying to start my car up even with the car plugged in all night and it was a struggle.
@@BiKEnBiTES Honestly, she chose a bad time to head to Faibanks Alaska. The winter snow start in September and with the following months ahead temps will start to get extremely cold. Hey, love your adventures. This may sound crazy AF but when it’s cold out, rub cayenne pepper on your feet and put your socks on. It increases circulation to your feet and will keep them warm. Just wash your hands after so you don’t accidentally rub your eyes or pet Blue.
They can enter it into the system manually. He was saying he couldn't do it because he wanted to use a scanner. That's probably why he said come back Monday. He was lazy as hell. I used to do it all the time by just adding the info manually.

Hey, love your adventures. This may sound crazy AF but when it’s cold out, rub cayenne pepper on your feet and put your socks on. It increases circulation to your feet and will keep them warm. Just wash your hands after so you don’t accidentally rub your eyes or pet Blue.
That water bottle is much better!!! Stay warm!
Christmas is coming, and BLUE will be there to help you celebrate it!!!
Alaska is my home… born and bred there…if you have any issues let me know….. I have friends that will help you…. Anything you need!!!!
